- A demo of some typical waldorf sounds. No fx and processing. I played evereything live without overdubbing. When changing presets, the previous preset fades still out. This is the 30 voice version.
Raw, aliased, acid, gritty, aggressive, unpredictable... I love my XT since 1998.
Something special about this thing. Always wanted one
Yeeeehaaaa ! Thank you for this demo. Not so many good XTK demos out there. I'm a 30-voice XTK owner too ;-) Waldorf XTK's (and also Q's) are exotic synths from another planet.
Unfortunately it is not mine. Thanks
@@vintagesynths I feel sorry for you. :-)
Beautiful, really quite a special sound to it
Very impressive sounds. I didn’t know that the Microwave XT sounds so good.
In my hands each synth sounds good, LOL

Awesome Rüdiger ! Love my Microwave II !
Thanks very much!
How come your demo sounds way better than I remember my MWII? Amazing pathes, playing and probably signal chain? Respect.
Thanks. I recorded it with an old apogee symphony interface and bounced a 192 kHz wav file for the UA-cam timeline. That’s all.
Sounds so good.👍
Sehr cool, Rüdiger 👍
Vielen Dank, Thomas
Just watched some demos of the M - Waldorf cleaned up the aliasing in favor of a smoother sound on the M. But it really sounds like they cut the balls off the sound engine of the MW in the M compared to the original - as you can hear. This MWXT sounds alive compared to the dead M. But the M is not made for the older "Imperfect sound" and has quite a bit of flexibility for a wider range of music. Waldorf is trying to appeal to a wider range instead of a niche eclectic group of artists with the M. I imagine if you could rip the DSP digital signal and outboard it, you could bring the M back to the future bypassing the cheap DA converters in the M.
Do you have a Walfdorf M to compare it to? I had a microwave 1 but decided I couldn't be bothered to program it with a vst editor or the front panel.
Nice. I upgraded the sonic components in a Microwave XT, I have a small clip on my channel
Ah, the XT. I had one about 15 years ago - sometimes regret selling it, the Blofeld I got later was never as good.
Yes, I only borrowed this, but such thicker than an argon 8 I have
@@vintagesynths Try the Cobalt8. I had both Argon and Cobalt, but sold the Argon...
@@vintagesynths I also had the Argon, had a silky sound to it but a bit too clean. Ultimately sold that, same thing with the Blofeld, nice but not quite it for me even being as capable as it is. Haven't really found the wavetable synth for me yet, apart form this of course >.
Wow, this synth sounds amazing. Great playing, too. Wonder if M can sound close to this...
The answer is simple: The XTK is not an an M.
2:00 nice thick pad !
Yes, sounds very analogue warm and lush
