Lovely journal! Great tip about leaving signatures loose in elastic - I once stamped on one of my sewn-in signatures and the ink bled through and ruined the page behind it - I had to tear both pages out. If they had been loose it would have been easier to repair so now I don't sew them in until completely finished.
