NOTES:
Workbench HD does not automatically install. To install Workbench HD: either select it in Line 6 Monkey and click "Update Selection", or download it from the Line 6 website using the link above.
You can use Helix or Pod HD series products to edit your Variax with Workbench HD. Simply connect your Helix or Pod HD series product into a computer via USB and load Workbench HD. Using this method negates the need for the lithium battery and the 1/4 inch cable. However, you can only load firmware using Line 6 Monkey with the VDI-USB interface or POD HD series products.

Does it work with only just the ethernet cable connected from both ends or we need the line6 connector?
Wife bought me the Shuriken for XMas, still learning how to utilize it with the Helix. Anyone know what knob setting the guitar should be on if your setting up guitars and tunings through the Helix? For instance, I’m utilizing tunings/guitars through the snapshots, I’m not sure where to set the Variax so that it doesn’t change those settings as I’m bouncing between patches.

Hey Stevic, I have an iPad Pro which I link my AmpKit hd into to record through GarageBand and also through AmpKits app. I can also use this externally through a rig. Will variax work with this setup. Thanks for your time.
Thx Stevic for this helpfull Video Serie. I got my Shuriken today an i was blown away from the possibiilties. Shuriken is a Bariton Guitar , so which Standar Tuning to you can you recommend and which string strenght is the best for ist ? Thx for Answering. Cheers Karsten
Hi Karsten, I use standard tuning with the low E tuned down a tone (drop D tuning). Hope you dig the guitar!

It will work with just the VDI cable if it is hooked to a compatible system like the Helix, 500X, and the Firehawk. You just may not have all the same functionality like snapshots of the tunings. I have seen most of Stevie’s videos and that is how he runs it.
Yep spot on ^^^ you can use the internal lithium battery and a regular 1/4 inch cable and plug into any output source: you just have to do all of the changes to the guitar manually vs. automated in presets.
Can you store 8 snapshots per bank, or only 8 snapshots on the entire unit?
8 snapshots per preset . . . So every song can have 8 snapshots plus 8 stomp pedals
(Consider that presets in that context essentially act as "banks" I suppose)
