Thank you for bringing the life of Anne Seymour to our notice. I never knew about this particular woman. And what a woman she was! Women have just as much value as men according to God. Thank you again! 😊
If Anne Seymour had lived in modern times, people will think her a piece of work and a classic biatch. She was unrepentant in her pride, known to have a violent temper but she survived her trials and tribulations through her determination.
I can’t believe I never heard of her before, with all the History Subscriptions I have it’s sad she has been overlooked. I love how you brought her to our attention and introduced us to a lesser known person from Tudor History. 🙏
I don't know why you don't have a couple million subscribers!! Your videos are STELLAR and your narration is simply superb! I am so so into history, most especially (Royal) English history and the (Royal) French History as well! I WOULD ❤️LOVE❤️ if you'd consider doing some longer documentaries, as I am ultra, super obsessed with those too! Thanks Jon! You're greatly appreciated and well loved here in Louisville, Kentucky, USA 🪄🌹✨
Thank you so much for the support and very kind words. Each video takes around 3 days to make from research to finished product. I'm a one man band so focus on releasing videos every few days. If I do 30 minute plus it would take a minimum of 7 days. Plus the shorts which are a bonus. Maybe one day I'll be in a position to get help in certain aspects of the creation. Thank you 😊
I think she has been overshadowed somewhat by her husband who was eventually beheaded and by Lady Jane Grey, same, but it is surprising she has not gotten more attention in recent years.
Fascinating story - thank you! I don't understand the impulse to Power - my own ambitions have been extremely simple. I always wonder what drives someone like Anne.
First time I’m learning about this woman. Didn’t Edward divorce his first wife because she was sleeping with his father? The Tudor period is ever fascinating.
His wife apparently slept around, so the two sons he had could have been anyone's. It was Edward that first questioned her about this. But we'll never know for sure. Thanks Linda 😊
Thankyou Jon!...Fascinating!...With the goings on and scandals in the current generations of the Royal Family I can't help but ponder how the likes of Andrew/ Fergie...Harry/Meghan...Anne/Mark,Tim...etc will be remembered in the history books...Goodness!..We have everything BUT the beheadings!...😂🇦🇺...and IF indeed we had those WHO would be treated to the axe???
Funny how I only ever knew her as a bit-player on The Tudors (which is, as we all know, not historically accurate 😅). It would seem that they had her pegged !
This is wonderful. Just found you not even finished this video ,already subbed. I love to learn about the not so famous people. Great job, and many thanks.
Buried in Westminster Abbey in a tomb that rocks bright red, hard not to notice. It says a lot about her. She was going to maintain her place through eternity as part of the “in group”.
There was some amazing women in this point in history. Anne Seymour is but one among many probably due to the excellent education upper class girls were receiving at this time. This situation didn’t last, girl’s education declined in the coming centuries. Back to learning French and fine sewing. Of course the lower classes remained illiterate.
Wonderful images & I'm intrigued by Anne Seymour but I was disappointed in this very fast overview of her life. Thankfully, I already knew of the other people & the history of her time or I'd have been completely lost. I don't mean to sound negative, just to give you some feedback as this is the first video of yours I've watched. Thank you though because I'm now going to search for more about what Anne got up to! 🙂
I’m currently studying my Family tree and just found out that Anne Seymour is my 15th Great Grandmother. Not life changing to know but I got a buzz when I found out 😁
It was not an age so dominated by men as you state towards the end of the video. Mary and Elizabeth both became monarchs. Both Catharine of Aragon and Catherine Parr took over the reins of government when Henry was away fighting in France on two separate occasions. Many thanks for your presentation.
Once one has made it to the upper eons of wealth and influence who would ever want to have to return to such a place as middle-class where hardship was daily, the work was constant and life was certainly tedious and difficult?. No! she sought the way back. who could blame her? so few people in England lived anything other than abject misery, and she was not about to join that crew! if she could claw her way back to the top she would… wouldn’t you?
Thank you for bringing the life of Anne Seymour to our notice. I never knew about this particular woman. And what a woman she was! Women have just as much value as men according to God. Thank you again! 😊
She was a strong woman with little remorse. Thanks Cassandra 😊
Heard about her..from other books..but yes,quite a figure…
A particularly nasty character was Nan.

She certainly had her moments Einez, thank you as always 😊

There's much more to the Tudor period than the one's everyone else talks about! Thanks 😊
Lady Anne Stanhope
Thank you for making a video on a lesser known (at least to me) personality of the Tudor time. Love everything about the Tudor time😊
Pleasure Anita, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Me, too! A veritable soap-opera!😱😹🇨🇦

Couldn't agree more, thanks 😊
Interesting video. I really don't like how Duchess Anne Seymour treated Queen Catherine Parr. Thank you for this history lesson.
Pleasure Vishnu, thanks 😊
Wonderful presentation Jon. I so look forward to your visuals as much as the amazing history you share.
Thank you for all the work you do! ✌
My pleasure Ann, so glad you enjoy the content, thanks 😊
Another Seymour who flew too close to the sun. Another great video!
A good analogy Liam, thanks 😊
Fascinating story - thank you! I don't understand the impulse to Power - my own ambitions have been extremely simple. I always wonder what drives someone like Anne.
She was determined that's for sure. Thanks Suzanne 😊

Good afternoon Jon and thank you! If you've ever watched Dr Who watching your videos is like having a Historical Taedis! Totally AWESOME!!
Thanks Cheryl as always 😊
Age hasn't been overlooked. All British children know about this. Divorced, beheaded, died. Divorced beheaded survived.
This isn’t about King Henry VIII’s wives.
Thank you Jon! This is a Duchess I know very little about. Take care.
Thanks Lisette you're most welcome 😊
Outstanding graphics! Love all of the new opening and features of your channel.
Thanks Jennifer 😊
Thanks Jon for mentioning this. Excellent as always Sir 😊
My pleasure Theresa 😊
Women fighting over jewelry. Crazy, unthinkable.

That's a sharp cutting comment Catherine, you could say Axe IS all areas! Thanks 😊
@@HistoryRoadshow ...it'd be a Slimmed Down Monarchy alright...😂🇦🇺

She was far more than a bit player Leanie. Thank you 😊
A wonderful and most revealing documentary about a Tudor lady who I had little knowledge of. As always Jon, thank you 😊
My pleasure Elizabeth, thanks 😊
It incredible that she survived and lived into her ninety’s at a time when the average life span was between 44-50yrs.
A few of the tudors and bolyens and their ancestors lived into their 70s, 80s and 90s.
She lived into her 70’s.
She was one gutsy broad!
Another interesting video. Thank you.
Thank you Angela 😊

So good. I’ve always been fascinated with her!
Thank you so much Elle, it's really appreciated 😊

Another excellent video, as always. The paintings are beautiful. Better than Holbein. Good jub!
Thank you for the kind words 😊
job, not jub!!

You can see why the Tudors still fascinate people all over the world , watching wolf hall again
This was really interesting.
Thank you Sue 😊

Thanks for watching Jonathon 😊
WHERE the stinking heck does all this great art come from? 😮
Thought it was Jane Seymour and Anne Boleyn
I find nothing in this type of woman enchanting or commendable. Her "strength" to me was a manifestation of greed, insecurity and envy.
Have you found anything about Anne and her brother in law having an affair that brought forth issue?
Lord Edward Seymour 2nd wife

Where exactly are the clothes, especially the head wear coming from? Definitely artistic licence and not so much period correct...LOL ❤
