When California lieutenant governor Gavin Newsom brought up how the Black and Latino community were suffering and that they should receive government benefits, Adam asked "What's wrong with them?" But the Huffington Post and The Young Turks twisted the story with a headline that started with "Adam Carolla asks what's wrong with Blacks and Latinos?" When Gavin brought that up in the first place.

Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.
Leftists want others to tolerate and even accept their self-serving, greedy and racist views. They do not want any other views tolerated. Tolerance means accepting even the most absurd Leftist ideas - and no others, unless they serve the Left. For example, the Ba'athists tolerate a neo-Nazi Syrian faction that is very supportive of the government. They also tolerate Hezbollah, but not dissent from their own Syrian Muslim citizens.
Leftists want to hear alternate views for the same reason that bird hunters want birds to sing.
There are other views? I must admit I'm quite shocked about that; maybe even offended.

Chris Claypool It's amazing how quickly too. Unlike Adam, who was clearly ahead of the game, you see comedians still sneering at people suggesting political correctness may have gone too far as if the only people claiming that are genuine bigots upset that they can't be racist in public any more.

Way back when Drew and Adam did Loveline on the radio (and tv too I think?), Adam was presented as "the cocky blue collar jokester," and Drew was presented as "the high class intellectual." And Adam's "rants" always seemed "crude and long-winded."
But now that Adam has been doing this so long, you can see that ADAM IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN THE INTELLECTUAL! He gives analogies that are down to earth. But all of his positions are quite intellectual and well researched, not just emotional reactions.
I can't tell you how pissed off I was when the department of education rejected my 50 million dollar bid to provide them with a school to prison circus cannon system for my competitors pipeline system.
If I was told that the "system" was going to keep me down regardless of what I did.....I wouldn't bother studying or working hard either.

Do others not have the sensitivity to see older people might use older terms, and may not mean anything offensive by it? If not being called a Nazi means having to revamp your terminology every 10 years, then maybe some people need to be offended. And driven out of the conversation.
And by the way, I think Dr. Drew is doing a great job of playing the straight guy. He makes comments and asks questions that allow Adam the opportunity to rant even more. Very smart show.

It is about control, solving the problem takes away a very important tool of manipulation. Most people are decent human beings, for the most part, and wish overall to be helpful to others. Thus you can use crisis to manipulate people into doing and voting the way you wish by playing upon their fears, guilt, and good intentions. “Never let a crisis go to waste” These words are attributed to many different people but it puts it clear that people are far more willing to defer to perceived authority figures, or someone shouting that they have the answer, and take them at face value. Now make every little problem in society sound far more serious than it actually is and really squeeze everything they can out of the real societal problems and you have a solid system of control. The political party/ideology that is the master of this kind of manipulation will always be in power even if they don't hold office.

yup, and everyone knows it. I went to a very diverse high school. The blacks with both parents in the home seemed to be doing just fine, going off to college. The blacks who were being raised by a single parent or in a foster home, usually had horrible grades, got in fights, and did not go to college............It was a very noticeable pattern. BTW, this was the same for any other race. White kids from broken homes were also fuck ups in general.

So Drew’s argument is it’s Adam’s language that gets him in trouble. Is he suggesting that you can say whatever you want as long as you use kind words? He’s an idiot. He says blacks have a lot of trauma from slavery. That was 150 years ago! There are Jews still alive who lived through the holocaust! So I guess being murdered by the hundreds of thousands is easier to deal with while you’re still alive. So-called "Doctor" Drew ruined this show. The first thing he says is virtually anything can be interpreted as hate speech, depending on how it sounds to the person hearing it. Saying "hello" could be hate speech under this definition.
Hate speech is supposedly defined as _speech that is intended to insult, offend, or intimidate a person because of some trait_. Which means any sort of insult can be considered hate speech. What happened to the first amendment in this country? You can't say certain things because people might be offended somewhere? This is how the Left keeps everyone walking on eggshells. And the funny part is that this so-called hate speech is only considered when speaking about certain groups.
Then he says the problem is Carolla, not the huge leaps in logic that the other party is making, but that Carolla isn't using "Soft" enough language. Saying that "oh you can adjust your speech so it doesn't sounds racist" is just the wrong approach. Doing that means that you shift the task of determining whether something is racist from your intent to the speaker's perception. That means an asshole can come along and decide everyone they don't like is a racist, meanwhile pushing their own ideas as the one truth. Why would we want a system like that, where one asshole gets to tell everyone how to behave?

From my perception there is more "classism" than racism. For example, how would a white person treat differently an African American dressed in a suit and tie over one dressed in baggy jeans pulled down half way, baseball cap and tennis shoes? You can do this for any ethnicity and you will find most people discriminate towards sub culture and financial classes in including whites. An African American crosses paths with a Harley Davidson Biker with tatoos or a white business man in a suit and tie. Which one will make them nervous? In other words, demographics.
I don't think it's classism it's just common sense. The black 20 year old statistically speaking is more dangerous than the old black man. The biker is more likely to be violent than the guy with a hemp necklace playing a guitar.
If we would agree on the problem-lack of family values-we could fix it. First, do not judge or alienate any social structure. Second, understand that raising kids doesn't require intelligence, rather courage, patience and wisdom. Parents and teachers ought to teach our kids: graduate high school, get jobs, form a committed relationship, have a kid, raise your kids together, teach your kid to graduate high school...We need to help people get there at all cost.
