Incredibly boring and repetitive Rad Racer clone. I dont know why. The lack of music? It doesn't help that the game is pretty long.

I remember playing this game all the time on my Master System. This and a light gun game came programmed into the system itself. So many memories.

this was the very first game that i owned, it was included in the Master System i got at christmas when i was like 7 or 8, it stood out cause it wasnt on a cartridge but on a plastic card.
I remember those card-formatted games that came out in the Master System’s early days, but Hang-On was not one of those.

i like this one way better than Super Hang On for the Genesis/MD or the Arcade version. It just plays better, and the nostalgia can't be beat!

It's weird how the SG-1000 version keeps the music, but the upgraded Master System version doesn't, when both share the same PSG sound chip.
It's even more bizarre considering the music is actually present in the games ROM but is unused for literally no reason...

@@gamersregeneration Baixa o Kegafusion no seu computador e baixa a ROM do jogo ambos no Emuparadise,esse emulador tem uma cara bem original da SEGA,rodará esse jogo em perfeito 60fps fora a queda de frames normais provenientes nas curvas difíceis do próprio jogo

i only like road rash for this type of game (racing game in which you win on a straight and lose in the turns)
you can not walk this game through because it has no real ending. After the 8 courses, you get same 8 courses again and again, each time with less time available. Changing gear in the corners is not the fastest way to take them, braking is better, even if the corner gets tighter.

You must of had a different model number to me, I think you had 3005-24 (Hang-On), while I had 3005-18 (Alex Kidd).
I had the Sega Master System II
planetX15 I had an SMS III from Tectoy that had already 101 games on it without the need of putting an game on it, and it had both 4 Alex Kidd games and Hang-On

How can this be a Rad Racer clone, if this game came out in the arcades earlier? Maybe Rad Racer looks like Outrun, but this is a motorbike racing game. :)
It competed (or was intended to compete) with Excite Bike. Hang-On sported it’s graphical superiority, but the gameplay not so much.

yes, you can pause it, luckily, because it will take some time to play all the 8 courses. After that, it restarts at course 1 with a tighter time limit.

The first few stages are fairly plain, and the last two look just awful. There's a pathetic "city night" stage with miniature streetlights and buildings that never get closer, and the final stage is just like the first, except everything is orange!

Do you think a Master System can handle 16 bit graphics, 6,144 colours, pseudo-3D sprite-scaling, and parallax scrolling at 30 frames per second all at a resolution of 320×224?!??!
Arcade hardware was light years ahead of what was available in the home. Even the Genesis/Mega Drive wasn't close to the arcade years later.
