California is truly a terrible place now. It hasn’t been the “golden state” anymore for decades now. In a recent USA today report, California ranked dead last out of all 50 states for quality-of-life.
@none of your damn business California has the largest GDP of any state, simply because it has a population of 40 million people and a few large tech companies operating there. That doesn’t mean it’s a rich state. In fact, it has been near bankruptcy several times. The average income in relation to cost of living is terrible. California is becoming the definition of a Third World state, with a massive and growing income disparity between the ultra-rich and ultra-poor. It has the highest net loss of residents of any state in the country. Middle class people are fleeing the state in droves. The population only continues to grow because of foreign immigration.
You think this is bad and you'd probably imagine a place like Hawaii's big island being paradise? Think again. Their "beautiful" parks are filled with homeless tent people too, who just move around from park to park when their allowed time (30 days?) is up. These scenes are everywhere people.
Lived in Northeast LA, LAPD Hollywood has been dealing with homeless since at least the early 80's, nothing's changed. The tourists go on Hollywood Blvd, take Stars Homes tours, go to Universal Studios. They dont want to see tents, especially with the billion dollar homes in the hills and Pacific Palisades
Here’s Other West coast and southwest hood videos to consider: South Seattle, Tacoma Wa (hilltop, south Tacoma) north Richmond Ca, Tuba city, Az and Albuquerque NM (places off central ave)
Dude, my band played ABQ last summer on tour and it was a whole new level of sketchy. We play everywhere and I’m rarely nervous (shit, I’m in Detroit at least three or four times a year-except this one, obviously), but Albuquerque is GNARLY. You know how after you play a rock show and are loading out, there’ll usually be around 20 people hanging from the show-friends, locals, club staff, etc.. ABQ was the first time in a lifetime of playing rock shows where I’ve noticed that NONE of the 20 or so Alley-hangers had ACTUALLY BEEN TO THE SHOW! Just 20 random weirdoes strolling up to lurk at 3 in the morning on a weekday. Crazy crazy place.
I'd love to see Seattle tbh it's been on my mind for a couple of months. I've been wanting to move there at one point. I hear the cost of living out there is cheaper compared to LA or Bay Area.
So glad u posted this. This is life for real in LA. I lived there for 6yrs. Never had so much shit stolen. Be careful out there it's not at all what u think. Super expensive and really dirty.
You get used to it. I lived in a rent controlled apartment where you could see the cars on the freeway, thin walls, deteriorated weather stripping on the windows...we could hear it all. After I moved out of California to the countryside, the peace and quiet too some getting used to [for me]. 🤣
Good videos. I feel bad for many of these individuals in these situations. But this sheds light on what life is really like for a lot of people. TV doesn’t seem to show this stuff. Wonder why?
Bruce Gordon Along with all of the prostitutes, thieves, con-artists, corrupted politicians, schemers, egotistical actors and actresses, entertainment industry and traitors, they too also have developed their talents and artistic skills, right in this very city.
Does not matter where the politician is from, from California to New York, from the U.S. to Europe, from Europe to the middle East, Middle East to Asia, etc. As long as every politician is filling up their wallets they tends to look away from poverty. Politicians, they don't care.
I live 15 minutes away from Hollywood and I can tell you that it’s one of the worst places to be in. Years ago it wasn’t as bad but now it’s just trash. Bums everywhere, clueless tourists walking around blind to everything around them. Just sheep everywhere. It’s a place I avoid at all costs these days when 5-10 years ago it was still enjoyable to go there to have a drink or eat.
This isn't really the 'other side' of Hollywood, this is the whole side of Hollywood. Hollywood got cleaned up some in the early '00s, when Hollywood & Highland was unveiled, & I think some of the old theaters were refurbished. But this is Hollyweird reverting to modern form. The popular (mis)conception of Hollywood being glamorous is more imagining Hollywood Hills, than Hollywood Blvd..
The functional Hollywood (media community) is now Culver City, Burbank, North Hollywood, Studio City and Melrose Ave up to Fountain Ave in the actual Hollywood. The 3 story plus basement office building I worked in on Hollywood Blvd. had 120 homeless people/squatters turned out of it by the city and police on TV two years after the business I worked at moved out.
3:51, was he cutting her hair... in an alley? wtf. Wealthy, so called "most progressive state" with this amount of filth, homelessness, debris, and poor dilapidated structures, they outta be ashamed.
It's actually a great place to live. Hollywood has always had homeless and now their are more than ever, but you only saw the absolute worst spots in Hollywood.
We are a huge state......and people only focus on SoCal, Pacific Coast Corridor & The Bay Area (which ISN’T NorCal) This is from Modoc County, where “the West still lives” ua-cam.com/video/lIgz8mc_HWU/v-deo.html
If I would be one of the richest who lives there, I would go out with big plastic bags, find the homeless people and tell them, that fill up those bags with the street trashes and pay them at the end of the day x dollar per filled trashbag. Everyone would feel better, double win action. Just a tip.
Chuckie... You didn't Cruise on Sunset Blvd, South of Hollywood Bl, you did get Tent Cities Under the 101, Passed by Old LAFD Station 82 on Bronson, Northside of the 101 & Also Passed Street Side Tent Cities & Still going through Alley's.
That’s why my parents made me graduate high school, go to college, and graduate college. When I thought something was difficult, they hired tutors who made things SO MUCH easier for me. When I graduated, I didn’t rush out and buy a new car. Instead, I saved up and bought a condo after five years with about 50% down. I’m so grateful !!! If I have kids, I’ll definitely hire tutors for them.
Seems like the whole state of California is a dump it used, to be just skid row 😂 when I was a kid everybody wanted to visit now in 2020 I'm grateful I don't live their..
Going by your name, I will say this. I live in NYC and it's turning into a crap hole. There's Nice parts of both NY and California. I visited California 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. But both NY and California are vastly overpriced states with a ton of issues.
@liar fighter Not even near the extent that you find it in cities with a liberal government. LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland are progressive cesspools. High crime, rampant drug abuse and S**t on the sidewalks seems to be the norm. Let's see a video of a southern city that's as bad...
@Al Cien That's hyping LA a bit too much. Just like with NYC, LA has a crap ton of issues. I honestly don't believe any city in the U S is the best in the world. If you look a place like Tokyo it makes U.S cities look horrible. Things like roads and infrastructure we fall behind with.
I currently live in Milwaukee and believe me its Not as bad as this. Yes you have the NW side which is dangerous and the only tent community that i know of was under 794 & the Marquette interchange and the city already pushed those people out and have cleaned up that area. Our Harsh winters are to Thank for that. The weather in Cali is Much to inviting and pleasant.
Let me say something for the foreigners here asking about the homelessness problem in the US. Your so beautiful country, unlike the US, has no real freedom of speech and doesn't show its problems like the US does. Let's take *Sweden* for example, you won't end up on the street like in the US, but you also won't find an house or job really fast, there's no freedom of speech: *70 year old grandma arrested for writing on Facebook: *I don't feel safe anymore because of the immigrants coming in* If you took your time to read, the so called *Free Market* or *Socialism* is not free, as the taxes are the highest in the world and one day the Scandinavians will end up like the French, protesting for being the #1 country in the world for taxes, taxes that are being stolen, otherwise France wouldn't have rats and homeless tents near the Eiffel Tower, thank you and please share your thoughts.
This is no joke... I tried to go inside a park in Hollywood but it was gated and locked up at night. I think I never been to a park before that was like that.
'Kentucky counties make up 10 of the 25 worst places to live in the US' eu.courier-journal.com/story/news/2019/03/13/kentucky-counties-dominate-worst-places-to-live-list/3151985002/

It used to be a very clean part of the city without all that graffiti and homeless tents. Seeing what its turned into I don't think I would ever want to go back there. I now live out in the Riverside suburbs and that's where I'll stay away from the riff raff, you know they only drag you down if you're around them!
despite it's abundant natural resources and near perfect weather, california's failed economic policies and lax immigration laws have doomed it to failure - people are moving out of california by the thousands and are moving to other states and taking their failed liberal policies with them - don't let them move to your state or else this can happen to your state too
Yeah sorry but the lax immigration laws in California you speak of are not the reason for poverty, they are the reason the country has cheap fruits and vegetables.
Its honestly crazy how people are surprised by this ive lived in la my whole life so this is just normal to me especially where I live theres aton of homeless people here they live by a river bed near my house its crazy people see the skyscrapers and think its so pretty but under it is alot of grit and grind but its what makes the city beautiful in my opinion its a beautiful nightmare
Hi Yall i want to visit LA, i‘m from europe so can someone tell me how the situation is now there? P.s I never seen so much homeless ppl that‘s so sad..
its an awesome, fun city. There's homeless but that isn't the problem you think it is. This video is one of the larger group of homeless, but it's a small area. They're generally harmless. The only thing is much of the city is shut down (as you can see in the video) because of COVID.
I mean if anything there’s likely more homeless out in the streets because of covid as there are not any people around. Like I live around Disneyland and since it’s closed homeless have set up on sidewalks which would usually be full of people. But ultimately, be more worried about covid not the homeless
Honestly..... some of the finest graffiti I've ever seen..... I'm sure these Artists would be very successful if someone would give them an opportunity.

I personally wouldn't I see it here to everyday were I live
The problem is nobody is helping these people. . They need guidance, therapy, and housing. This is Sad really 😥
International friends: This is EXACTLY what it's like and there is no clever editing here. Real footage!

I did some work out there when I was a teenager. It hasn't changed, at all! Beverly Hills, too! TV only shows the good parts of these cities!
I don't know how anybody can sleep under the bridge with the constant traffic noise.
They high. They not hearing a thing
You get used to it. I lived in a rent controlled apartment where you could see the cars on the freeway, thin walls, deteriorated weather stripping on the windows...we could hear it all. After I moved out of California to the countryside, the peace and quiet too some getting used to [for me]. 🤣
@@princessmarlena1359 I fucking hate noise
Good videos. I feel bad for many of these individuals in these situations. But this sheds light on what life is really like for a lot of people. TV doesn’t seem to show this stuff. Wonder why?

California is where many an aspiring graffiti artist, has developed their talent and artistic skills.
Bruce Gordon
Along with all of the prostitutes, thieves, con-artists, corrupted politicians, schemers, egotistical actors and actresses, entertainment industry and traitors, they too also have developed their talents and artistic skills, right in this very city.
The homelessness issue has infected the entire state, you’ll see stuff like this in pretty much every city from Sacramento to Los Angeles.
CAN YOU TELL US WHAT YOU RECORD WITH AND HOW YOU RECORD IN THE CAR??
THANKS.
this makes me question moving to ca😂
Dont come here it's over priced n trash af n I've lived here all my life smh your better off where your at
If he got Serious Money, then LET HIM MOVE OUT HERE!
Did you plan to live In a alley?
He's not showing Everything.
Cali is a shit hole. Move to a red state like Florida. Stay strapped legally, beautiful beaches, good hispanic and sea food, and beautiful women
Florida is a dump
CAN YOU TELL US WHAT YOU RECORD WITH AND HOW YOU RECORD IN THE CAR??
THANKS
It is a crappy city and Pelosi looking the other way.
Does not matter where the politician is from, from California to New York, from the U.S. to Europe, from Europe to the middle East, Middle East to Asia, etc. As long as every politician is filling up their wallets they tends to look away from poverty. Politicians, they don't care.
Pelosi is from San Francisco
her district is the worst.
Those tents rent out at $1,200 a month. A box that had a refrigerator in it goes for $800 a month
You should drive in the hoods in San Jose like alum rock and seven trees that would be hella dope
Lol used to live in White story road 😊 and alum rock
Alum Rock has hoods? All I've seen are rich Indian, White, and Jewish hoods in the area lol
Remember a time when tents were associated with adventure in the Great outdoors? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
Good Lord, the class structure and its differences in the U.S. are mind-blowing...
Miami as well
Dam, you don't believe in coming to a complete stop,,,aka, the California roll, go figure!!!!!!! True to it for real....👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙆🏽♀️
You drove right by my house. Love Hollywood, ill never leave
You're awesome CharlieBo 👍
I'll support this channel like I do ABL, one condition: you need to answer questions, engage with your followers from time to time. Ok?
3:51, was he cutting her hair... in an alley? wtf. Wealthy, so called "most progressive state" with this amount of filth, homelessness, debris, and poor dilapidated structures, they outta be ashamed.
It's actually a great place to live. Hollywood has always had homeless and now their are more than ever, but you only saw the absolute worst spots in Hollywood.
@@Mac-po1sr he drove down alleys and back streets. Its a misleading video for sure.
Alleys are always No Man's Land. You'll notice that Downtown San Diego and The Gas Lamp District were designed without them.
I live in a post-communist country and I haven't seen scenes like that in my homeland since 1995. Congrats America, you're the third world now
We are a huge state......and people only focus on SoCal, Pacific Coast Corridor & The Bay Area (which ISN’T NorCal) This is from Modoc County, where “the West still lives” ua-cam.com/video/lIgz8mc_HWU/v-deo.html
If I would be one of the richest who lives there, I would go out with big plastic bags, find the homeless people and tell them, that fill up those bags with the street trashes and pay them at the end of the day x dollar per filled trashbag. Everyone would feel better, double win action. Just a tip.
Mona TH for U.S President. 2020!

this city always got a promise for you, but it's a lie, an illusion, but everyone still wants to live here...
Thank you Charlie I’ve been waiting for this one
This is how the " common " people live , in desolation.

Stfu NOBODY cares
Congrats. Wanna a cookie?
LA's fun. First time I went there I saw a motorcycle gang and I'm a city boy from back east I thought it was for a movie or something lol
Thank you for the tour!!!

I live on Sunset and Fountain. I see this every day. It's quite disturbing this is happening right outside of my apartment.
Been on the streets of Milwaukee it’s bad too
I currently live in Milwaukee and believe me its Not as bad as this. Yes you have the NW side which is dangerous and the only tent community that i know of was under 794 & the Marquette interchange and the city already pushed those people out and have cleaned up that area. Our Harsh winters are to Thank for that. The weather in Cali is Much to inviting and pleasant.
Are there any public restrooms available to the tent people where they can actually take a shower, etc?
I was in LA in 2013 and loved it, went back in 2019 and hated it. Homeless people everywhere, even lying naked on the walk of fame.
Such a shame.
Ohh wow really
Stop and talk to a few of them, give them a voice.
This is no joke... I tried to go inside a park in Hollywood but it was gated and locked up at night. I think I never been to a park before that was like that.
Idc what anyone says I was here first #stayBaked
Congrats!!!!

Don't they have zoning ordinances that would prevent conditions like these ? If so, why weren't they enforced ?

I'm from Hollywood but been gone for over twenty and sad to see its getting over run by the downtown LA's homeless people. It used to be a very clean part of the city without all that graffiti and homeless tents. Seeing what its turned into I don't think I would ever want to go back there. I now live out in the Riverside suburbs and that's where I'll stay away from the riff raff, you know they only drag you down if you're around them!
you must have lived there in the 1940s.
Nobody protest for stopping the homeless. Yep, democrats are doing nothing to stop this. Give affordable houses to these poor people!!!!!!
despite it's abundant natural resources and near perfect weather, california's failed economic policies and lax immigration laws have doomed it to failure - people are moving out of california by the thousands and are moving to other states and taking their failed liberal policies with them - don't let them move to your state or else this can happen to your state too
Yeah sorry but the lax immigration laws in California you speak of are not the reason for poverty, they are the reason the country has cheap fruits and vegetables.
sorry, that makes you a democrat
oh cheap fruits and vegetables, whoopee
Red states are poor as fuck.
I'm supposed anyone lives in those dying cities.
Its sad going there.
The last time I was there a homeless guy was taking a shit on one of the stars on the sidewalk. Haven't been back since.
But ultimately, be more worried about covid not the homeless
i was driving same roads when i was in LA. But still, its amazing place for me. Greetings.
Its still bright and beautiful. Nice and sunny and lots of trees. Not all gritty and grimy. It don't look "bad" at all.
Honestly..... some of the finest graffiti I've ever seen..... I'm sure these Artists would be very successful if someone would give them an opportunity.
I agree
