    Even a complete novice like myself will be able to buy this and be able to do it without any previous cube knowledge. I've been thinking about this for a while, as I want to get away from cards for a bit and try new things, I've heard nothing but good reports about this trick. Thanks!

      I always used to finish with sketch pad card rise, the jumbo version, that was always such a chore to set up again for your next show. I was never into cube magic before, this seems to be getting the best reviews, it was the stack that was putting me off, as I know nothing about cube magic, this is all new to me. I might get my friend to pick me one up at Blackpool next year. Thanks again.

      Went for Rubik's Dream 2.0 instead. I just wanted to mix up a cube, put it in a paper bag, shake it up and down, then bring it out solved. I heard that was the best own to get into cube magic, and was getting great reviews as well. I might treat myself to the Venom cube for Christmas once I play about with Rubik's Dream. It's arriving this week. I just think it's a thing of beauty, and has a lot of potential. That's what I ended up getting. Thanks.

      Real Magic Review will do, thanks! I thought I'd start at the beginning, see how I get on with this one, then progress from there. From what I've read & watched the past few days, you can't go wrong with any of them. I'm excited about this one arriving. That's my magic budget for the year gone. Lol

    I just saw this performed at a magic bar while on vacation (3 days ago). It looked great. Then this popped up in my suggested queue. Coincidence, magic, or creepy?
    Either way, nice review.
    One suggestion/request: maybe mention the MSRP/going rate for the effects being reviewed.
    Thanks!

    Hi Steve,
    Great review as per usual and gotta say I really love watching your videos, there fun and informative and it’s clear you know your stuff! (Very jealous of that Library you’ve got too!!)
    I’ve been out preforming this effect at gigs for about 6 months now and can safely say it’s going to be locked into my set for many years to come!
    I have the “prediction cube” in the centre of the table, open for everyone to see and hand round the other cube to be shuffled as I go through my effects then end the set with a perfect match followed by an instant solve and it ties everything up beautifully and blows minds into smithereens!
    Absolute love this trick.
    Every element of this is just sooooo good!
    If I could only ever do 3 tricks for the rest of my life then this is one of them!
    Hats of to Henry H for this one.
    Masterfully made and such great fun to perform for you as the magician and for your audiences to participating in.
    Keep up the great work Steve!
    C 🎩🙏

      Thanks so much Connor. That's really good to hear and so glad that you're getting some good use out of it. My performance on this channel was the first time for me and also found it to be a really strong routine. Really appreciate your kind words.

    A great review !! I got mine a couple of weeks ago and as you say it is addictive. To do it justice you do need to practice but it is a near self-working as you are going to get. All these Rubik effects are about the same price and RUBIKED By Vincent Tarrit is the same. which is an app and a special cube . The solve can be sent to a spectator by e-mail which is nice.I personally prefer the Venom Cube because i am not keen on magic involving phones

    You're always welcome at the show Steve! 😘
    I know it's been said before, and it flashed up as a subtitle, but it's worth saying again:
    Takamitsu Usui's DVD "The Cube" is really the start of modern Rubik's cube magic. WELL worth checking out.
    Cube 3 is just a rip off of the original; shame really.

    • @RealMagicReview
      @RealMagicReview  5 років тому

      Thanks Tom, would love to see it! I'm definitely going to pick up 'The Cube'. Though am I right in saying that Steven Brundage has his own stacks? He did reference The Cube as recommended viewing if I remember rightly. I notice there are two versions of the DVD, one with a gimmick? Which do you recommend?

    • @PerformingNerd
      @PerformingNerd 5 років тому

      @@RealMagicReview Brundage's setup is similar but inferior to Takamitsu's. Long story short, you'll always be half as good at Brundage's moves than Takamitsu's.
      He made a tiny little variation to Takamitsu's so he could teach it as his own (because Takamitsu wouldn't give him permission to teach it).
      But that's a conversation for over a beer.
      The Cube & The Cube Plus are two completely different products.
      Full disclosure, The Cube Plus isn't as versatile or as useful (or as good, IMO). It's a separate effect, and your best bet is just go for The Cube.
      [The "Play All" button plays it in Japanese with no subtitles. THEN plays it in English 45 minutes later. I wish I'd known that before watching it all in Japanese...]

    I have Cube 3D by Steven Brundage. I have not used it yet. I am scared to mess it up. I still haven't learned to solve a cube. My memory just sucks so much that I can't remember the sequence of moves. Have you tried Rubiked yet. That seems to be another hot item.

    • @RealMagicReview
      @RealMagicReview  5 років тому +2

      Rob Jacks you should have a look at cube 3 as he instructs learning the cube really well. I’ll definitely take a look at that!

  • @philiphall2733
    @philiphall2733 5 років тому +1

    I’m almost certainly going to pick this up but from what I gather you have to set this up based on the solve you want to do. Would it be a problem to change your mind at a later date or would that be an issue? It would make me really anxious to commit to something and then immediately wish I hadn’t.

    • @RealMagicReview
      @RealMagicReview  5 років тому +1

      Hi Philip. I'm pretty sure you will be able to get the spares to be able to change your mind later, but if you choose the Gear Solve or Recurring Nightmare on the download you won't go far wrong. To be honest I think they all look pretty similar to the spectator. But I do know what you mean. I'm still torn between the Gear and Recurring Nightmare. The gear does seem to look a little more instant.

    Great review! So tempted. How does this compare with Greg Wilson's Rubicon 2.0? This is the trouble with secrets in magic sometimes - I know one of them is for me, but without knowing the specific methodology, it's really hard to choose!

    • @RealMagicReview
      @RealMagicReview  3 роки тому

      Hey thank you. I haven't used Rubicon, unfortunately. I think that this is great for the matching effect, and is so easy. only one of the cubes can be handed out afterwards, but I've never found this an issue, as I just go straight into another effect with the cube. I still do this in my show and it storms every time 🙂

    • @SteveFaulknerVlog
      @SteveFaulknerVlog Рік тому

      For kids show, I reckon rd360 is probably easier to follow and looks more direct. But I've not tried it in a kids show so not 100% sure. Also, I think RD insta would play strong as well as it's so visual.

    • @RealMagicReview
      @RealMagicReview  5 років тому

      dwight baldwin for me, Venom Cube is slightly preferable as it plays bigger and doesn’t require any tech. Rubiked is probably better for close up, as it’s just one cube. I just got some footage of me performing Venom Cube which I’ll upload soon 😊
