    Wow what an amazing video. I like the country scenery, the many grain silos, the sidings and waiting locos. The video gives a good insight into the day to day work that a train driver undergoes and the way that the train is controlled. I also like the historical input when it comes to varoius location.

    The highlight of my day is waiting at Watergardens station (to catch the PTV shift box train to the city) when the VLine N class loco pulls up at the platform right next to me. The reverberations through my body when it throttles up to depart is awesome. You can literally feel the power. I think I should have been a loco driver 🙂🍺🍺🍺🇦🇺

    That was amazing
    Never thought I would be that excited to see The Rock again.
    Grew up in Wagga, Albury and country NSW moved away a long time ago. Was amazing to see places I knew so well along the track. Even seeing some and thinking I used to ride my bike along there when I was a kid. Didn’t even know the Wodonga line had been relocated. Used to drive past the back of the old Glenrowan station when going to a mates house. Quite the trip down memory lane.

    Many thanks for this. I worked on Rail in Junee from 1969 until the Roundhouse closed in 93. Then to Parramatta for Freight Rail. I wasn't aware how bust Harefield and Bomen have become. In my day they were just busy refuges for the long interstate freighters to cross the equally busy passenger expresses of the day. Riverina, Daylights, SOP's and Southern Auroras. Not to mention the mails. Great days.

    Thank you for this incredible behind the scenes look into your work life. I especially enjoyed the footage of Wagga where I currently reside. There seems to be some controversy here over the inland rail project which is building a major freight terminal in Wagga and hoping to cater for double stackers throughout the entire route. It is reported here that the planners somehow forgot to factor in the two bridges near the station one of which is a quite recently built road bridge and the other a pedestrian bridge. I am not expecting or requiring you to comment on this topic and just my only way of telling you that Inland rail may now be delayed further while our city planners decide what to do about the situation. Thanks again for this most amazing video and I look forward to more in the future.

    • @aussiejohn5835
      @aussiejohn5835 2 роки тому +2

      @@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER yes, that is a proposal, however, the fight is over the cost of the solution and compensation to the city for the unexpected upheaval to the city and the requirement to move the station to accommodate the lowering of the track. Me thinks there are no experts to be found at the moment. Thanks for your reply to my original comment.

    • @davidblowe9096

      hmm interesting to hear your comment's about the inland rail project John, I live in Benalla and there's been nothing but "issues" ever since it was announced that artc were going to remove the bridge access to the station over the original standard gauge line, there is now a lobby group and they are expecting artc to "fix" everything to "their" liking

    • @aussiejohn5835
      @aussiejohn5835 2 роки тому +3

      @@davidblowe9096 I think the issues are arising because of lack of transparency and consultation with the communities impacted by the project. This is widespread in three states and promises no end to the delays and cost overrun.
