And to that I'll always be thankful but I do not appreciate her being on me about grades

I had only 4 backpacks in my life. I remember myself telling mom I didn't need a new one and could use my elementary school one in middle school after 5 years of use. We kept our books in class as well as our backpacks (the big ones) and would bring our books home if we needed to in our small backpacks. Then we would carry home most of our books for the weekend. Then my first backpack in middle school fell apart after half a year and I had to get a new one that I changed when I tourned 16 for my birthday. My previous one didn't really have anything wrong. It was simply a bit childish looking and too big so I asked for a new one for birthday and still have it and love it. I barely use it though. I mainly use it for the beach or if I need to carry loads of stuff. I mainly use my leather backpack now to do anything which is a fraction of the size but big enough for a bottle, my huge ass wallet and other bits.
It’s all good. Everyone will find out all that fancy shit don’t mean nothing when you are on your own, and mommy and daddy ain’t buying everything for them anymore.
As an elementary teacher I always modify the school supply list for my students and send it to the parents . I usually scratch out many things that’s won’t be needed. The most important thing I tell them is “ No brand stuff or expensive “ the only think that I want brand are crayons (crayola) and pencils (Ticonderoga). These last longer.

I have 2 older brothers, 1 older sister, 2 younger sisters and 1 younger brother and we are given the bare minimum and have to pay for any ‘upgrades’ ourselves unless it’s a new school or for important events which isn’t that bad given there are seven of us. Luckily I’m moving up to the second part of the senior school I go to which is in a different building so I get all the nice stuff this year!
My school has A LOT of books that we have to take so they suggest a rolling backpack but I got a real backpack that’s Harry Potter and now my mom doesn’t want me to use it but u persuaded her I got a ‘Friends’ school set I absolutely didn’t need :)
