    Love the Mooer E-Lady. One of my Favorite Pedals I ever bought. I'd Never be without one. Update: now they have 3 more "Mistress Clones" = PastFX does (2) the Reticon and the Elastic Mattress and Retro Sonic does their new brighter v2 Mistress.

    For ages I never really picked up on the presence of flanging on many of Gilmour's solos. I guess it's like people learning to paint who have to learn how to really 'see' what they're looking at, you need to train yourself to really 'listen' to what you're hearing.

    • @Craig-dv3ji
      @Craig-dv3ji 3 роки тому +3

      I'm not sure there is as much flanging in his solos as many demo videos would have you believe. So much of his sound came from Fender and HiWatt amps. Gilmour was also a master at putting JUST enough of an effect to make it sound good, but never too much so that it wasn't tasteful anymore. Striking that balance is the trick.

    • @novakingood3788
      @novakingood3788 3 роки тому +2

      @@Craig-dv3ji I guess he uses so much, and often so subtly as you said, that discerning what's affecting the sound is tricky. Any guitarist into Floyd has probably already discovered Gilmourish.com, but that is a fascinating and useful repositry of information and played examples.

    • @Craig-dv3ji
      @Craig-dv3ji 3 роки тому

      @@novakingood3788 I play drums (also a guitarist, just not in this band) in a Pink Floyd tribute band and my lead player and I are in deep research and inquiry into this very subject. I think sometimes he uses too much chorus in his solos or he overcompensates for something he hears affecting the tone, but the more I listen, the more I hear, I don't know, SOMETHING mixed in there, but it's never too overbearing. It's always tasteful. And most of the time it sounds like just an untreated guitar, with distortion, through an amp and that's it! And yeah, we know Gilmourish.com lol.

    • @rogpoll9691
      @rogpoll9691 3 роки тому +1

      @@Craig-dv3ji That's the big mystery, how much, and of what effect, right? And you just know there might have been two or three different amps with different effects going! Everyone cites gilmourish as gospel, but I don't think he gets everything right. There's so many references to a big muff being used on stuff, and it's pretty clear to me that it is not. So odd. Anyway, I am also fascinated by these sounds, and how they were achieved. Good to know there's others out there like me.

    I’m shocked that this isn’t amongst the top viewed videos considering how many want to achieve the Gilmour tone and how accurately you replicated it. This may be the most accurate I’ve seen. Two questions…
    1) When you went from Comfortably Numb to Another Brick in the Wall, I’m assuming you switched from the Tube Screamer to the Fulltone. You weren’t using both at the same time, were you?
    2) I’m currently more focused on getting the tone from the Comfortably Numb solo. If I’m not mistaken, during that part you used the electric lady, TS9, compressor, big muff, and I’m guessing a little reverb. Is this accurate? Did you use delay in that part too?

    • @ferdifloyd4497
      @ferdifloyd4497  2 роки тому +2

      This is the issue with people doing the Gilmour tones , they do't share all the settings chain etc with a basic video. It's like they have a secret they alone must hold and will never be straight up about it .

    Nice tone. Its really sound like pink floyd but you are not showing to us your actual video of your elactric lady flanger that you are actually using it and what flanger settings you are using instead you are showing to us your fender strat. Its look like you are demoing your guitar instead. You are showing your flanger settings in the table then why can’t show us your actual pedal board that you are using mooer elady. Next time please show to us what yuo are demoing.
