    • Ghana Is Not Looking B... -~-
In this video I show you some of the brightest views you will find traveling across West Africa. Accra, the capital city of Ghana, stands out as a one of the brightest cities in Africa.
Light holds profound cultural significance in Ghanaian society. Beyond its practical utility, In many Ghanaian traditions, gatherings and celebrations are often accompanied by the illumination of lights, creating a festive and inviting atmosphere. Whether it's during festivals, weddings, or religious ceremonies, the presence of light is central to the cultural fabric of Ghana.
Accra's claim to the title of the brightest city in Africa is not merely based on the sheer intensity of its illumination but also on the creativity and charm embedded in its nocturnal ambiance. Over the past few years, Accra has undergone a metamorphosis, with numerous buildings, monuments, and streetscapes being meticulously lit up, transforming the city into a dazzling spectacle after dusk.
From space at night, the city Las Vegas in the US is believed to be the brightest city on Earth. While Pyongyang, North Korea, is the darkest. The industrial age transformed cities, setting them aglow with light. Changing technologies have made cities ever brighter, as lights have gone from whale oil to gas to electric to LED.
During my frequent visits to Accra over the past three years, I've witnessed firsthand the city's evolution into a beacon of light on the African continent. What i find remarkable the most is the consistency with which Accra maintain its luminous charm despite the passage of time. From the sleek modernity of commercial high-rise buildings to the intricate illumination of historical landmarks, every building seems to tell a story through its lights.
The creativity exhibited in Accra's lighting schemes extends beyond mere aesthetics to encompass practicality and functionality. The strategic placement of lights not only enhances the city's visual appeal but also contributes to safety and security, illuminating streets and public spaces to ensure a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
Accra's claim to the brightest city in Africa is further reinforced by its vibrant nightlife scene. As the sun sets, the city comes alive with a myriad of entertainment options, from lively bars and restaurants to pulsating nightclubs and cultural performances. This dynamic nightlife adds an extra layer of allure to Accra's nocturnal charm, inviting people from all walks of life to partake in its electric atmosphere.
Accra's transformation into the brightest city in Africa shows the city's resilience, creativity, and unwavering spirit. Despite its challenges, the city has managed to harness the power of light to illuminate not just its skyline but also the hearts and minds of those who call it home. With each passing night, Accra continues to shine brightly, beckoning travelers to experience its luminous magic for themselves.

America doesn’t show this side of Africa! I’m 30% Ghanaian and I’m really considering dual citizenship in Accra, Ghana. 🇬🇭 To call this place my second home would be a dream come true.

Our only problem is the lack of street lights on our roads. But aside that, Accra is very beautiful. We are not fully there yet but I know we will definitely get there.

You may see a few motor bikes in Accra but Tricycles is a no no in Accra. It's actually against the laws of the country, I don't know if that has changed because in other cities and town in Ghana, you may find tricycles.
