Love they kept the hollow hosel. Reminds me of the Staff model I started playing with back in the early 90s. Wilson has always been an overlooked and underrated club.

I do like wilson irons. However, I just replaced my old D7s for a set of JPX 923 HM.

I had a fling one season with some WS F5 FG Tour irons about 6 years ago. Man we had some great moments! WS are probably THE most criminally underrated and underappreciated OEM. So good!

I used to play the goosenecks in highschool and when i was stationed at Ft.Hood in the 90's i bought a set of Wilson Staff irons really liked them. And these look nice and their performance seems to be good as well!! Nice review Gabe!!🏌♂⛳

My 1st set of clubs were Wilson's. That was back in 94, may have to look into another set. Love the reviews.
I hit these recently. Best feeling irons Ive hit in that category. I ended up going with Mizunos but I heavily considered these. Great irons, quite a bit of forgiveness for the small size.
Did they have more of a thud forged feeling or crisp?

@@LetsPlayThru interesting fun fact I played golf with Emmett Berg roughly around 2017, the grandson of Patty Berg, a Wilson Staff player, she had signed a lifetime club deal with Wilson which allowed her family to receive free clubs, which Emmett was taking advantage of.
I'm impressed with the new Wilson Staff lineup. These are beautiful clubs! Too bad I'll probably never be able to afford a set without a miracle, they look sweet!

I looking at new irons and had it narrowed down to the i230, JPX Forged and King Tour. I'm adding these Staff CBs to the list.
In that category, Dynapower Forged may work best. Good luck!
I played WS Dynapower's back in the late 60's and all through the 70's. Wonderful irons, and still have them in the basement. The clubheads look so small now. Wilson kind of lost their way for a time, and the marketing budget isn't what the big boys spend, so they didn't get much traction with the consumer. Glad to see them pumping out good products again.

Recently hit these next to the previous iteration (2021 model). Both were awesome. Though they look very different, the difference in performance and feel was imperceptible to me. Both felt incredible, both surprisingly forgiving for what they are.
I was able to score a brand new set of the '21 model in my spec 2 weeks ago for $499 shipped. Steal of the century. Put them in play last week, shot my best round of the summer, highlighted by a 198 yard, 5 iron second shot into a par 5 that settled 18" from the pin. Tap in eagle.
Suffice to say, I loved them more on the course than I did in the fitting. Didn't think that would be possible.
I've been in MIzuno, Titleist and PXG forged irons for the last 15+ years. These are better than anything I've played save for my MP32's, which I'd consider an equal.
If you can still find a set, gobble them up and don't hesitate.
I play the Wilson D-9 Forged CB iron. And I love the feel, sound and distance of them. DON'T OVERLOOK WILSON IRONS.

Stunning, great feel, but I couldn't hit the 4 and 5. (13 handicap)
Would be cool totry and combo them with the dynapower forged, though I think you'd have tobtweak the loft a little.
They didn't have them to try yet.
Agree some sort of combo option could be great. I suppose folks prob do it with the blades and these though.

Like wilson Irons. Play a set of FG V 6 irons and am looking to upgreade. But some hjow I can't seem to get pass the Mizuno 245 irons for ticking all the boxes, even though these Wilson irons look great..To bad they took the D9 Forged off the self for custom fit...Thanks for your time Gabe....

Top line of the new staff blade is not a lot thinner, look chamfered more…

I enjoy your channel, you do a great job, but bro maybe lil more effort repairing those green pitch marks… seems to be a new trend in golf, people just don’t revere the greens like they used to. I always carry a designated pitch mark tool, tees don’t cut it..
Going back now about 15 / 20 years now, but Scotty Cameron used to sell or bundle up their own branded pitch mark repair tool, basically a handle with two tines/prongs, thick prongs though, maybe a tee might do a better job than some tools out there.
I would like to see the head-to-head vs Ping I530 when they come out.

I would have to say they were better, but Dynapower is incredible in its own right.
@@LetsPlayThru were these more of a dense feeling than the Dyna power? I found the D9 forged to be very crisp and was hoping that these would be similar.

First thing I said!! 🤣 feel is incredible
I guess I paying attention to something else at that moment 😂 but maybe I chalked it up to a great feeling shot vs the specific feel of the irons.
I’ve hit the d9 forged and they feel/sound incredible so I imagine these could only be better.

These lofts are 4 degrees weak from the Dynapwr forged, that’s a 34 degree 7 iron and a 26 degree 5 iron.
Shame they dont give the option of different shafts. Manufacturers these days seem to offer regular/senior shaft options for game forgiving offset heads only
Gabe, you normally do this but could you put the loft angles up. Will be hoping to test the dynapower this weekend. I can’t ignore a Gabe 96 pointer 😊
That’s the highest score of the year. 7 iron is at 30.5° so it’s strong but not obscene.
