BANDIT & Schenk and Sons: 18XP Workhorse Chips All Day, Every Day

Schenk & Sons (Evansville, IN) have been loyal Bandit customers since 2000. The 18XP (formerly known as the 1590XP) is their fourth (and BIGGEST) Bandit chipper, and it's been in service every day since 2016. "If it fits, it chips!," says Ed Shenk. He calls the hydraulic crushing power of the top feed wheel a "game changer", noting that the 18XP pulls everything in without the need for trimming. This is especially important because Schenk and Sons often doesn't have a designated operator monitoring the chipper. They can load it with a tractor and drive away for the next load, not worrying that limbs will get caught up, wasting valuable time on subsequent loads.
The Intimidator™ 18XP is a highly productive 18" capacity drum-style chipper. Its powerful dual feed wheel system driven via (2) 32.3 CID hydraulic motors provides around 4,480 pounds of pulling power and the standard hydraulic lift cylinder enhances performance by providing additional down pressure reducing chainsaw work.
User friendly options like the solid infeed tray with HD rim enhances the infeeds durabilty. 25 inch wide feed wheels in lieu of the standard 20" make it easier for the feed system to collapse limbs into the the chippers throat.
Gas and diesel engine options are available ranging from 120 to 174 horsepower. Most configurations can keep the machine under 10,000 pounds.

We have one similar it’s a 2012 1590XP Intimidator with 5000 Hours it’s a workhorse of a machine keeps up busy for our crew in DFW, MTZ Tree Service 👍🏽
