I am actually going to wait and see what the 9950X3D has to offer as that is supposed to have the 3D V Cache on both CCD's, which would make it the holy grail for gaming CPU's
Interesting that the 7900x3d outperformed the 9800x3d in some games. Curious to see more data pop up. My friend needs to upgrade and we are undecided on getting the 9800X3D or the 7900X3D. Waiting for more news and cyber monday prices.
You would be smoking crack to buy a 7900x3d dual cdd chip for games over a 9800x3d single ccd, the only valid reason is if the 7900x3d is going for much cheaper.
The test is absolutely correct and correctly recorded. Windows is up-to-date, just like the bios. Your assertion that Windows has to be reinstalled every time the CPU is changed is nonsense. I have reinstalled Windows several times in the past with every CPU change and there is no difference in gaming performance whether you reinstall Windows or not. If you like, you can prove us wrong with your own test on this topic.
Your results are strange in Black ops 6. 7950X3D show always lower fps than 7900X3D when you compare them visually in real time, but at the end, average fps for 7950X3D are higher than for 7900X3D. EDIT : with 7950X3D, you have used 1440p instead of 1080p….
I accidentally swapped 1080p with 1440p in the video production. Correct values for 1440p start from 0:20, for 1080p from 1:00. However, the AVG FPS values are both correct. Thanks for the hint and sorry guys
Super goad that tou includied the 7900x3d. Most benchmarks exclude it, because it’s usually worse than the cheaper options and more expensive. I got mine on a good deal. :)

My biggest issue with performance benchmarks theae days, is that no one uses these CPUs on MMORPGs that are CPU Intensive in Raids and highly dense player count areas! That would really show a core shine.
The Helldivers 2 benchmark is not repeating the actual game performance. Since the game is quite more taxing on the CPU when you play with 3 other player and have a lot of enemies are present.
I know 4k usually is limited by the GPU. Are there any improvements in some games that nobody could get frame rates on before? Like Hogwarts legacy and Space Marine 2? Which could only get like 90-110fps at any resolution.
I totally understand only testing at low resolution to get the most accurate results for a specific CPU. You're basically putting max pressure on said CPU workload. And I get why the majority do that. Me personally, I want to see BOTH types of benchmarking, because I do see interesting results when you benchmark at higher resolutions, sometimes you see results that don't quite make sense if you are in the "only benchmark in low resolution" camp. I want both types of benchmarking because I have a 4090 and 7900x3d (I only have the 7900x3d because my 7800x3d died and I had to send it in for replacement, but they only had 7900x3ds in stock...). I'm considering upgrading to a 9800x3d IF the results in real world (I play 4k resolution) actually warrant it. I understand playing in 4k is going to limit basically every game because they are going to be GPU bound. But I am just trying to understand why some results show for example, my 7900x3d have better results at higher resolution than the 9800x3d or 7800x3d. Silicon lottery? I have no idea. I would genuinely like to know from someone truly knowledgeable in that category, because I don't wanna spend a lot of money on a 9800x3d if it's not going to help in my particular situation playing in 4k. Why in certain scenarios, is a 7900x3d outperforming a 9800x3d at higher resolutions in the same game?
I live in fucking Russia and my salary of $1000 a month is considered good here. Tell me that buying a 90800x3d processor is an expensive purchase? Does your salary really not allow you to buy such hardware without problems?

You are likely benchmarking the 7950X3D incorrectly. The CPU has 16 cores, but only 8 of them benefit from an increased L3 cache. As of today, the CPU still does not automatically allocate tasks to the 8 cores with the higher L3 cache when running games, as it was originally intended to. To optimize performance, you can adjust the BIOS settings to lower the speed of the non-L3 cache cores. This ensures the cores with increased L3 cache are prioritized, which can significantly boost FPS. ua-cam.com/video/LTkXnkSIcso/v-deo.html
