Clinique foundations tend to work best for their recommended skin types and dry fast, so I only put a small bit on, blend, and move on to a next spot. Thin layers works best to get the most coverage without looking cakey :)
I really enjoy your reviews. Would you be able to do some super close ups after the initial application and then later on? It would be really good to see how the foundations sit/how the skin texture appears with it. 😊
I have to say I really liked the filming in this. I know the lighting was off because of the sun but I really liked seeing you further back and again with the sun setting kind of light. I feel like I can actually see your skin better and get a real idea of how products actually look. Thanks for another good video!
This is my favorite brand of foundation. I have been using this since it came out. I like that it even outs my skin and keeps my skin looking natural. I think with the flaws coming through, it looks more natural.
This foundation should be applied with a sponge. It lasts a very long time. Don't apply another coat. Clinique brand is meant to look natural but give the amount of coverage you need. And a little bit goes a very long way.
I have used this product on and off for a quite a long time. I like a lighter coverage foundation so I really enjoy it because yes it definitely fades off. I ha e combination/oily skin so maybe that's why I haven't felt it become patchy. I also used a damp beauty blender. I totally understand what you mean, but if you want light coverage then I think it works! Thanks Shannon! I loved watching this video!!
I've used this foundation for years and I absolutely love it. I have very combo to dry skin in the winter and oily combo in the summer and I can wear it year round. I always use Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and it lasts hours on me.
I really LOVE this foundation! I've already emptied four bottles.. Currently on my fifth one! It goes really smoothly on my skin, and my makeup stays beautiful all day long! Really recommend this! (Btw I have dry skin)
I've used this foundation whilst being on roaccutane which basically has meant my skin has been like the Sahara dry! But I used cliniques dramatically different moisturiser underneath so mine didn't actually cling to my dry bits at all. I personally can only use Clinique skin care products due to sensitive skin and I love their foundations and this foundation lasts all day on me! But like you said some people love Clinique some don't. I happen to love it.
+Millie M massively! I had horrendous cystic acne before starting on Roaccutane which i didn't always have. Now have completely clear skin. But you have to talk to a dermatologist about it thoroughly there's some side effects, some very rare and most common ones like dry lips etc I couldn't wear lipstick or lipgloss only Carmex for 5 months but for me it was worth it.
I received a sample size of this in a Sephora order and I loved it so much that I purchased the full size. I have normal to dry skin and I use an illuminating primer under it but I still set it with a light powder and it lasts well through the day without breaking up as much as it did in this video and I live in nice hot humid Florida. 😊
I have very oily skin and I usually wear oil free BB cream; until I found this foundation. It's really helped out my red spots and keeps me oil free all day! It's my favourite foundation now!
Can you please try the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation?? Also I think this foundation is more suitable to those with combo - oily skin my friends with those skin types rave about this I use this with the MUFE hydrating primer and a lot of Fix+ with my UD Chill Spray and it works great for me although I wouldn't say this is perfect for long wear at least IMO.
I use this foundation and have for probably 10 years. I have normal to dry combination skin. I normally do not use a primer or setting spray with it, but I set it with a powder (a Clinique one). I have the foundation on in my profile picture.
This is my go to foundation, it's amazing for my super oily skin. Lasts like no other. I often mix with the born this way for my perfect foundation combo. I always apply with a beauty blender, and just set with one of my hourglass finishing powders. I also live in a very cold and dry climate so I've never had to worry about sweating it off.
I have had this foundation for about 2 months now. I have super dry skin and have been loving this on me. I have worn it for 12 hours and on very hot days out in the sun and it stayed fine. It melted some like for you around nose but in 44 deg C I dont expect anything to not melt. One this I have still not validated is clinging to dry patches. Since we are in summer in India its been hot and I have not been having dry patches so much like I usually have in winters. Now looking at your review I believe it would do the same for me cause foundation do this to my dry skin like this one did to yours. I will may be exfoliate and extra hydrate the dry parts or not use it in winters may be. Thanks for the review. Always happy to read your views and because I feel my skin is dry like yours, what works for you usually always works for me.
I've been using this foundation for 4 months now, and it was an impulse buy based on few random internet reviews. There's not a shade light enough for my extremely pale skin, and the shade I bought is orange based (like what?) and it oxidizes too, so I barely wear it on its own, rather mix it with other foundations. I have sensitive, oily combination skin, and being this oily as I am on my T-zone, there's no way I can get away wearing this all day. However, I absolutely love how good it looks and feels on the skin. Just because of these factors alone this is one of my favourites, I don't have any other foundations that would be this much of a joy to put on my face, even though they are a lot better shade match and much more long lasting. I haven't really noticed that much of those skin care benefits, then again, I haven't been using it on its own every day. If something, it doesn't add any redness to my skin, which is a big problem for me. Every time I use few other foundations and wash my face in the evening, I feel like my redness has gone worse, but after using this I could say it's calmed down a little. It doesn't irritate me at all, it's not tight or drying, it just feels so comfortable like I had no makeup on, and I think the finish is the most beautiful of all my foundations. So, that all being said, I tend to use this foundation on days when I don't really have much to do. Like if 2-3 hours of wear is enough, I'll use this. But for school or any other activities, especially on its own and not mixed, I will not pick this. I've been eyeing on their other foundations and there's couple I really want to try. It's a shame you really don't hear that many people talking about these, as they have quite good range of foundation options. However, the reason I've been holding back for trying out their other foundations is the shade ranges - there's really something for Clinique to sit down and think through again.
Draugr Deathlord try even better glow cn02 breeze. its new and the lightest shade theyve come out with so far! Or redness solutions 01! and if the shades in redness solutions are too dark try their redness skin care line! theres relief creams for oily and dry skin, and a cleanser to calm the redness! do it before you apply your makeup and it should help a lot!
I love your first impression videos Shan. I would really love for you to do one of your full face first impression videos using only cruelty free products! That would be so helpful xx
Hi! I work for Clinique! Setting this foundation with the Clinique Stay Matte pressed power OR the loose setting powder makes this foundation last a lot longer/all day! Also, a more hydrating primer might work better with the formulation of the foundation. Like the universal primer from Clinique. Or I like the Korres Greek Yogurt one :)
You got it! I work for Clinique as well and this foundation is something you need to prime and set. I feel like its super hydrating as well so I cant wear it because Im an oil slick Im number 4 and just from that you know Im so oily! i love how it looks but it does need priming and powder!
I actually dont like the stay matte. I like beyong perfecting but I love the Acne Solutions makeup its literally my favorite out of all my foundations. Its super matte full coverage I dont have acne but I am acne prone so I like that the salycic acid helps keep pimples from coming its just so good!
I also had very dry skin around my mouth and nose. if you really want it to look better try this method . take two tablespoon gram flour then mix milk , glycerine , lemon ( vey small amount ) , tumeric . make a paste then apply it onto your face and let it dry . once its almost dry , gently scrub it off with your hands . wash it off with water after wards . do this for atleast 3-4 days then give your skin a break then repeat again . alot of people may think it's harsh for skin but it actually works like a charm ! try it once !
Had literally the same experience with this foundation and so happy you did a review Shan xx I've tried applying with a sponge, with primer, no primer, stippling brush ... Literally everything! I have similar skin type to you and weirdly it clumps and flakes in some areas and makes me oily in others!!! Thanks for filming xx
Just wanted to acknowledge how BEAUTIFUL you look without an ounce of makeup on. In the beginning of the video, when you start off with a fresh face, I can't believe how naturally stunning you are. xoxo
I bought this foundation about a month ago and I loveeee it so much! It really has evened my skin tone with continued use and it's just beautiful. I can't say enough good about it. Definitely my new holy grail foundation! I'm really surprised you don't love it. Oh well. Everyone is different. ❤️❤️❤️
I love this foundation! Before applying it with my Sigma F80, I use Clinique ' s Super dense Moisturizer. I also use MAC Skinfinish powder. It all sets well throughout the day. My skin doesn't feel tight or look oily.
May I suggest the redness solution foundation, very similar finish but it covers redness amazingly. Also since you have dehydrated skin try Cliniques Moisture Surge on top of your regular moisturizer, it is AMAZING!!!
+Jesse Phoenix that's true, I'll have to keep an eye out to see if I can find any in store or online. Maybe you could send a sample size or full size to her PO Box and ask for her to do a first impression?
I've never tried this foundation, but perhaps try it with the Smashbox primer oil underneath. I have dry skin and use that under all my foundations. It's a life saver.
+Madilyn Hollis www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod13511145 www.sephora.com/photo-finish-primer-oil-P404235?keyword=SMASHBOX%20Photo%20Finish%20Primer%20Oil%20P404235&skuId=1783224&_requestid=170876 I am obsessed with this stuff. It can be picky with some foundations, however, I have found that it works well with most of my foundations. You can also test it out at any place that has a Smashbox display!
Try setting with straight cornstarch too. it makes a difference, but set using a puff in a patting motion. it prevents that macroexfoliation/dry patches.
I'd love to see you review the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation! I love your first impression reviews, they're so detailed, plus I have normal to dehydrated skin as well!
I have this foundation and I have to say that I agree with. I have combo/oily skin and I am in the colour Sienna. I have a very oily t-zone. I find as the day goes on, my nose becomes very oily. I still like the foundation because it is perfect for everyday. I applied this foundation with either beautyblender or brush. I bounced or press into my skin. I have never wore the foundation without setting it with powder. I think you will get a little long wear if you set it powder and setting spray. All the love for Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Shannon, Loved this video. I am a beauty therapist and just wanted to let you know about skin types for these kinds of videos, when you do first impressions you refer to your skin as "normal" just wanted to let you know that normal skin only applies to young girls who haven't yet hit puberty, so normal skin means there are no comedones, to pimples or breakouts no dryness no dehydration. Your skin judging by its appearance and what you have mentioned would be combination dehydrated, combination does not always mean lots of oil i just refers to break outs or an oily T-zone. Not trying to be mean... Hope this helps others as well. Love you xxxxx
+Beauté Not according to dermatologists and makeup artists. At Sephora, we identify "normal" skin as not too dry or not too oily, with little breakouts and not much change in texture or appearance throughout the day. So do dermatologists.
+Michelle Slater I wasn't trying to be rude clearly you were This is what I have been taught through years of training I was going off what I am taught
+Beauté Wasn't trying to be rude, either, just letting you know that its not necessarily an appropriate or similar description in other areas of expertise
I got a tester from Sephora of this foundation and it's what brought me to buy the " Beyond Perfecting" foundation. I loved how it cleared my skin. It does depend on your skin type. Love Clinique foundations.
I bought this one month ago and yes it completely fades after some hours. It looks good for a couple of hours and the coverage is good. my skin doesn't get oily it just fades away. .. I'll buy the other clinique
I love the look of it! I'm usually all about full full coverage, but on days when I just want to pop outside without makeup it looks like a winner! I love your foundation impressions, they're so helpful and fun! Love you lots xx
I love your first impressions. I think they're one of my favourite type of videos from you! Very honest and helpful information about products. I really appreciate it. 😊💜
Hi - the foundation works well with the mineral veil primer by hourglass - but it's not long wearing by any means. It's definitely dependent on what primer and powder you use. If you want it to wear longer, you have to touch up pretty regularly.
Hey Shannon! I've got this foundation. Firstly, I've got oily skin, so most foundations I find, are melting off me within minutes! However, with this one, you can work with it. Firstly, I use the 'Becca Back lighting primer' to glow and illuminate areas where I need just an extra glow to my skin. Then I go in with my Stila One Step Correct, this just evens out my skin tone. Lastly, I actually use the Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer, and this works SO well with this foundation, it lets it seep into my skin, without looking cakey, and lasts all day. Set with a powder, or fix + but I can guarantee this helps a bunch! Hope it works out for you! Xx 😘
I use the Even Better Makeup, but I am a huge minimalist when it comes to everyday makeup. I never set it with powder or else it just turns into a hot mess. I think of it more as a one-step face product for running errands. - for full face days, or nights, I picked up the Clinique Perfectly Real foundation. It looks works much better for the times I want heavier makeup.
This is my absolute favorite foundation and I have dry and sensitive skin. I even feel like this foundation actually improves my skin. I would totally recommend it ! :)
I have dry dehydrated skin as well and I swear by this foundation! I always use it with a damp sponge and I set it with a translucent powder. I agree it's not the most long wearing but on me it last around 7 hours. Maybe it was the new products you used that day? But give it a try because I love it!
Please could you try the Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation, i have heard good things about it and im unsure whether i should get it and i aldo really enjoy your first impression videos so i'd really love it if you did Xxx
I hated this foundation, and ended up returning it...Thanks for validating that! I wish your review had been up before I had bothered with it. I always trust your impression videos, thanks so much Shannon!
have you tried cliniques full coverage with the wand? I bought it for my mom and it worked so well, it's super full coverage and works well with dry skin.
I wear this to work everyday. It doesnt look like you're wearing make up. It blends in to your skin to even out dark marks and redness etc. I can still see my freckles through a little, its a natural look.
I use this foundation. I have oily/dry combination skin, i apply a thin layer with a brush or beauty blender. I don't have the problems about emphasizing dry skin, however, it is not long lasting, like you after 6 hrs it began to fade & looks patchy...finishing out the bottle and maybe i go back using my mac face & body, not sure yet (i love how clinique makes me look)
Love your foundation reviews! I feel like you're so honest and that exactly what we need :) Can you please do a MAKE UP FOREVER MATTE VELVET foundation review please ?! Pleaseeee?!
I've tried multiple foundations from Clinique. I've tried the one you tried and it did the same thing! it attached to the dry spots and wore off from my cheeks/nose and basically around my face. it was not near full coverage for me because I do have freckles but the breakouts seemed like they were pointed out even more. my skin is dry in some spots and oily in others.
I have dry skin, but with laura mercier (radiance) primer it really works out for me. But instead of using the Even Better Foundation, I use Clinique's Redness Solution Foundation. It gives you a thousand times better coverage if you have breakouts or redness! I find it difficult to apply this foundation with a beauty blender because the formula gets way too wet
This feeling when you're getting ready in the morning and applying this foundation because it's your favorite while watching your video 😂 I love this "even better" !!!
This foundation works best with a primer, setting powder, and then a setting spray. I have combination skin, so I use the Nivea Post Shave Balm, then this foundation blended with either a BB or real techniques brush, then I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent powder, and then I set my face with the MUFE Mist and Fix.
I actually have this foundation, and I get where you're coming from. Its a beautiful finish on me too! When I use it, I tend to lean towards a slightly mattifying primer (however I have oiler skin) and like to use Urban Decay's DeSlick spray to ensure longevity. I'm not sure if that will help but try to use other products you know to be longer wearing, it might help.
i love this foundation and find it lasts pretty good on my skin- i have very dry skin and mix it with a few drops of face oil and that avoids caking on my really dry areas

It does just that too! It's all I use💜
I LOVE that packaging, the squeeze pump is so perfect!

You're my go to for foundation reviews. Your recommendations have not been wrong for me so far I'm thinking we have the same skin type ❤️

You do so many reviews on foundations I was wondering if you could give us a video on your current favorite foundations for different skin types?
Love your first impressions! You are so honest, without being disparaging. One of the few UA-camrs who I actually trust their reviews xx
Please do an updated skin care routine!! Love you shannon
I love Clinique foundations! I feel like they are so underrated.

Love you so much!
Don't think I could ever buy a foundation without checking your reviews first 😜

I use this foundation and have for probably 10 years. I have normal to dry combination skin. I normally do not use a primer or setting spray with it, but I set it with a powder (a Clinique one). I have the foundation on in my profile picture.
I forgot to say that I apply it with a sponge.
EYEBROW GOALS AF😱😍😍😍
Your reviews are so helpful, I swear I always go to you first.
You said the longevity part perfectly this time!! So proud!! Practise does make perfect
This is my go to foundation, it's amazing for my super oily skin. Lasts like no other. I often mix with the born this way for my perfect foundation combo. I am obsessed with this stuff. It can be picky with some foundations, however, I have found that it works well with most of my foundations. You can also test it out at any place that has a Smashbox display!
+Rebecca Mainz Thank you so much! Already ordered! hahaha 🙌
+Madilyn Hollis No problem! Hope you enjoy it. 😄
I always check your reviews of a foundation before picking it up as I trust your opinions!! Xox

+DramaticMac ME TOO!
Same here... 👍🏻
Could you please make a video about your favorite high end foundations and your pros and cons about them? Hope you are enjoying Vegas!!
+Michelle Slater I wasn't trying to be rude clearly you were
This is what I have been taught through years of training I was going off what I am taught
It looks good for a couple of hours and the coverage is good. my skin doesn't get oily it just fades away. .. I'll buy the other clinique
whenever you have 4 essays and 3 tests to do tomorrow and it's 11pm but watch Shan instead 👸🏼
I think you could make a video of you watching paint dry and I'd still be happy
Same
Hahahahaha true
Yeah love you and I agree
I love the look of it! I'm usually all about full full coverage, but on days when I just want to pop outside without makeup it looks like a winner! I love your foundation impressions, they're so helpful and fun! Love you lots xx
I love how honest and detailed your reviews are! X
I use the makeup forever matte primer with this foundation and it still looks amazing by the end of the day. this is my favorite foundation ever!
Love your first impressions!! I use Loreal Infallible pro matte foundation because of you!
i really like that new angle!!!?? youre so beautiful from every angle shannon!!!
Xx 😘
Also, use a beauty blender, it's amazing with a beauty blender!
I love love loooove your main channel and vlog channel. Always waiting for new videos haha. Cheers from Finland! Xoxo.
I love your first impressions!! Always my favourite videos X
Only just started watching your videos and you are one of my favourite UA-camrs
Please could you try the Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation, i have heard good things about it and im unsure whether i should get it and i aldo really enjoy your first impression videos so i'd really love it if you did Xxx
I hated this foundation, and ended up returning it...Thanks for validating that! I wish your review had been up before I had bothered with it. I always trust your impression videos, thanks so much Shannon!
have you tried cliniques full coverage with the wand? I bought it for my mom and it worked so well, it's super full coverage and works well with dry skin.
Staying awake an extra 15 mins to watch your vid early! Love you Shan
I love your in depth reviews. You never steer me wrong. Thank you for your honesty and by the way, that lipstick is very pretty on you.
I love that you do bare face and then full face of makeup in your thumbnails!
Your eye make up 😩😩😍😍😍😍
Can you do drugstore foundation next, please
Good idea! Loreal infallible is great!
I have that same foundation shan and it does the same thing to my skin no matter what I try I can't make it work and it also breaks me out a lot xxxx
I wear this to work everyday. It doesnt look like you're wearing make up. It blends in to your skin to even out dark marks and redness etc. I can still see my freckles through a little, its a natural look.
I've used this foundation for years and it's my favorite! When I fake tan I add the cover X Drops and it becomes even better with that!!!
I love it when you upload, you make me so happy :)
Love your foundation reviews! I feel like you're so honest and that exactly what we need :)
Can you please do a MAKE UP FOREVER MATTE VELVET foundation review please ?! Pleaseeee?!
Your first impressions are so helpful! And your makeup looks stunning, I'd love to see a tutorial on this!💕
the beyond perfecting foundation by clinique izzzzzz amazzziinnngggg give that one a try boo!!!!
Can you do a first impression on origins' stay tuned foundation?
I have dry skin, but with laura mercier (radiance) primer it really works out for me. But instead of using the Even Better Foundation, I use Clinique's Redness Solution Foundation. It gives you a thousand times better coverage if you have breakouts or redness!
I find it difficult to apply this foundation with a beauty blender because the formula gets way too wet
This feeling when you're getting ready in the morning and applying this foundation because it's your favorite while watching your video 😂 I love this "even better" !!!
Love this video! I'm definitely going to check out some of the products! That lip colour was everything xx
Love your first impressions so much they really go through the product throughly!❤️
I love your foundation first impressions!! Please do a foundation favorites video.
I love your first impressions. They're always so helpful.
i love this foundation and find it lasts pretty good on my skin- i have very dry skin and mix it with a few drops of face oil and that avoids caking on my really dry areas
