BF4.3 + your presets are awesome. They're better than stock on BF4.2. A video series idea would be to take an example of each class of drone, walk through the presets you would apply, and the preset options you would choose, and explain what each is doing under the hood.
Great video Mark, thanks a lot! Redarding your tune preset - what if you have dynamic PWM on the ESC (24 - 48 kHz)? Should you check the 48 kHz box or leave it?
Hey there MArc, you mentioned adjusting the PIDs for altitude while traveling... Am I on the right path with thinking if the air is more dense the loop probably would have to push a little harder while needing less dampening as well?
love your vids this one was very helpful! I am running a preset that has this strange sort of vib at very low rpm when taking off. Doesnt seem to affect anything but i have now lowered the multiplier hoping this will fix it! fingers crossed.
You say to put the master slider up can also help with bounce back!? My quads are running fine. No prop wash so far but when I put on my Hero8 I get really hard bounce backs on flips and iam asking what could I do to get rid of it? 🙂
On the topic of presets, is there a way to see or show what presets are currently loaded? For instance, if I had 15 Quads and I wanted to plug one in to see if I loaded your Rate presets or Bardwell's, or Tunes or Filters. Do you see this as a feature in the future, like the Modes tab to "Hide unused modes"? Love your videos and everything you're giving back to the community.
@@uavtech Thanks, I think I found it already brought up back in April. "Persist Presets In Setup #2888" under Configurator. It would be awesome to see some more traction on this. Hopefully 4.4 isn't 2 years away.
i tried 2 presets, superflysad auv, both flew fine, the superfly though had d at 0.8; but there was no boueback. uav preset there was a tinybit whih more d fixed. also seen gyro lagging so movved feedforward up. my quad is noisey as the motor magnets have been coming loose, rs2205 fakes... despite that 4.3 still flies amazing. can see it in the filtered gyro trace, no hot motors.
lower he is better for breaking torque. Higher (48k) has less electrical noise, and some motors with lots of torque need 48k as they can respond to pulses at 24 or 16 causing a grinding sound.
Hi, i have tried your preset on BF 4.3 RC7, i got strange noises from the motor after arming. I reset the filter settings and everything back to normal, i wonder why?
What was your noise like? I noticed a 'metallic' kind of high pitch wine from my motors at hover. Brand new build. Even made a private video of the noise but don't want to post links in comments 👍
Thanks Mark! Now we can all spend less time tuning and more time flying!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Use 48k pwm option.
Fantastic tips, Mark! Thanks! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great advice! Yup, that MM is key to biggest propwash gains.
Great info! This is super helpful when 4.3 is released and I can help my grand kids with this in the future!
Thanks for this! Ive been using your presets and suggestions since BF4.1 and works perfectly always on my quads. 👌
Hell yeah! I use your RPM Filtering with 48kHz preset on all my 5in quads

Less dense = higher PIDs needed.

It does not keep track currently. Maybe a good feature to add for 4.4.

I noticed you are using an F405 FC on BF4.3.0. CPU load was around 72%. Is this too high for 4.3? Are F4's nearing EOL for FC? Thanks!
Not for me, I am running 3 quads F405 on BF 4.3.1 with rpm filtering and everything. They all fly better on 4.3.1 and cpu is around 70%.
I have blheli32 set 16khz and high by rpm. I been clicking 16k & 24k but never sure if im suppose to check 48k

You probably get this a lot, but what is the change between your weight parameters? I run pretty heavy 5inch quads around 780g.
Higher gains and more damping the heavier it gets.
Pearly whites are on flique! 😬 👌 (I'm English, none of us have teeth like that)🤷♂️
Please explain which way to go for altitude and humidity. I fly at sea level in summer and 8k+ in winter. Thanks 🤙
lower Master Multiplier as air gets denser (lower altitude or more humid).
When using Variable PWM Frequency by RPM (In my case 24 kHz Low and - by RPM High) should I check the 48 kHz box option? (6" preset) Thanks
It should not be needed.
Very Helpful.
I can only see rates preset, no tuning. How to see that?
select Tuning on the left.

Higher base vibes level on the quad.

Sound like a CNC machine cutting a metal.
At first i thought it was my motor bearing, but after i put default settings in the filters the sound gone.
Do we need higher gaines at higher altitude?
Yes. Use the Master Multiplier to adjust accordingly.
@@uavtech does that change with higher wind as well?
Im getting loads of bounce back on the 2.5" UAV preset, any ideas how to fix it?
See ua-cam.com/play/PLcYNkvInloJEpxl2ykxPjBWnIR_F4_oH9.html
I had the same same issue . What solved it for me was lowering anti-gravity gain to 3.5.
I deff must not be doing something right. Cuz any preset I use just makes motors hotter and makes the quad fly like trash.
Sounds like it has vibrations that need to Gyro Lowpass filters turned on.
What a gross goggles in Marks hair, last time I've seen them in 18+ films.
