Ancient Egypt was the preeminent civilization in the Mediterranean world for almost 30 centuries-from its unification around 3100 B.C. to its conquest by the Achaemenid Empire in the 6th century BC.
And then In 332 BC, Macedonian ruler Alexander the Great conquered Egypt as he toppled the Achaemenids, later Romans ended Greek rule and Islamic sultans ended Roman’s.
In modern times Egypt was under ottoman rule till WW1 and then under British dominance which came to end in 1952 when Abdul Nasser’s coup ended British influence and established independent the Arab Republic of Egypt.
