I'm here cuz of Wings of Pegasus and Fil. He's showing the world with a pitch monitoiring software and how it is not really what music is about. Music is about soul and expression, and it isn't lines on a graph. But music has become algebra. I loved his expression. Merci.
I'm here because of Fil as well. Although I have not yet heard Fil's analysis, I'm listening to this song a second time in a row. This is a magical performance.
My dad loved this song (SF). I will always remember giving dad his last cup of coffee in his hospital bed while this song played in the background. It was magical.
Thank you for sharing this. We need more entertainers like this, Tony had such class and still does! You can feel everything he sings. Plus, I always loved his smile.

I sure hate waking up to such sad news. I leave my💔heart with the man who left his "in San Francisco". 😢 I really loved Anthony (Tony Bennett) Bennedetto. Thank heaven his music will live on. Did you know that in 1962 CBS released this now-iconic song as the B-side of "Once Upon A Time. DJs at the time preferred 'I Left My Heart In San Francisco' and played it in regular rotation, leaving the A-side almost unheard.
A well-worn saying, but Tony really did get better with time. Rest in peace, Maestro. Thank you for seven decades of impeccable performances delivered with class, style, and dignity. ❤
And to think. Tony did not really want to do this song at first. Only for it to become his signature song. I have an album that has what I believe to be his best performance. Daw Tony twice in concert. A wonderful showman. This is nice.
I lived in San Francisco for 30 years--every time I hear this I am mentally transported to SF... What a song--back then SF was so magical and now a dump--thank God I got to live there when it was magical and fun. As for Tony, he is in a class by himself, everyone else including Sinatra are far behind. On a 5 star scale, these songs are a 10!
@@angelsunlight My wifes from Richmond and we had many romantic evenings in the City , weve since moved and our more recent trips to SF have been very disapointing. I love SF but the city has a lot of issues right now , as does most big cities in our Country.

@@TheAnimeistYup +1 for Fil. Not seen it yet, but it would be impossible to fault this performance. Lines on a graph have no soul, Fil will tell us.
@@albanana683 I got better grades in math than I got in music.
But now I'm a record producer.
LOL
RIP to this legend.
Even Frank Sinatra said that Tony Bennett was the best singer. Hands down!!! This makes me cry, brings back so many good memories. Never to come back
Greatness recognizes greatness

RIP to a true legend. 96 is pretty good though. He never stoped singing.
May you rest in peace

R.I.P. Tony
Is so soothing listening to this song. Rip Tony
Beautiful: the vigor, the experienced care and love of women, place and life. Superstar always.
What song😢 and what a singer the likes we will never hear again god bless you Tony you will be dearly missed. Thank you. ❤ ❤️❤️
That guy at the beginning does a really really good impersonation of Ed Sullivan.
" It calls to me " RIP, TB
What a life he made for himself! What a life!
The incomparable and glorious Tony Bennett.
Anthony Benedetto from Astoria, Queens. Sinatra called him “the world’s greatest saloon singer.” Frank knows. :))

As a teenager & young man he waited tables & would sing when they let him. The original "singing waiter"! 💖🎼🎶🎵

Read his autobiography a couple of months ago. Written about 25 years ago. What a wonderful man. I would have liked to know him.
Heard him sing this on our one trip to Las Vegas, December 1974.
RIP tony ❤❤❤ this song got me thru a sad time in my life when I was homesick for my city by the Bay
When I hear this song I feel sad, it reminds me of how far we have fallen in our society today.
Sad but true. Well said.
Love to watch Tony Bennett on You Tube and I love it when you play his songs ! Most of your songs and comedy skits I like to watch on your channel !

Those were great times and such great entertainers like Mr. Bennett. Thanks.
wowza
RIP and much love!
The greatest to ever do it. Even Frank said so.
This song has always struck a strong emotion chord with me-the melody, the lyrics, Tony’s delivery-are just sublime.

That was a long time ago.
The fuck was that!!!! Was this the best male vocal performance ever or what????
Is that Bobby Hackett on the horn in the background?
I do believe you are quite right, Evan.

21 years before Lady Gaga was born.
Somebody left the tape out in the rain...
Gangs everthing
...we all going to ignore that this is the incel version of this...wtf?!
Jesus, Bennett butchered his own signature song apparently trying to be too cute on TV.
I bet he wished he couldve left his nose
Then why comment?
Tony had one great song, then the meatball went down the toilet when he got into politics
