Great comparison Matt. They're so similar! I agree with your concerns on the Firmware updates. The Grit X came out only a few months ago and certainly should not be left behind. Not a great trend to set as a big player in this space! Also 13:50... outro shot on point. 👍

I've never owned a Polar, I've been a Suunto user for a while & Garmin before that, so it's good to see more options. Agree about the chest strap being the better option for the heart rate. Nice reviews Matt 👍🏃
Thanks Martin! Yeah, I'd love to review Suunto at some point. Thanks for checking it out the video and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it.
The whole polar series of watches are so similar with unite all the way up to v2 with increase of features coming with an increase in price. I'd probably be happy with the gritx since those new features are for me a one time usage thing but I guess I'm not so data driven that I find the need to jump up and down all the time either to see my leg recovery or run 30 minutes for that run data. I do wish that it had the screen of the ignite though.
I just didn't like the raise to wake on the ignite/unite series watches. But I agree this and the Grit X are both really great watches. Solid options for running and the battery would probably work for some of your crazy long runs. 🤷🏻♂️
Great review. I agree, some of the features should be brought to the Grit X, if not even to original V. I purchased the Grit X after V800 and now I should sell it for 70€/$ pricier watch to get weekly report, watch faces or music control. If I knew, I would have waited. I really like the look of Grit X, not so much the battery as watch (comparing to V800). I only track sleep and I charged the Grit X 3 times while V800 only once. Why is OHR still working for minutes or hours If I manually confirmed that I am awake. I hate when I can't start GPS activity below 9% battery. WHY? V800 recorded an activity even lower and only showed later "Low battery". If I start a GPS activity at 9% - I have probably 10 minutes max on the Grit X and recording is done. The main thing I miss from V800 is Recovery Pro. I bought the Grit X hoping they will include it in the new firmware. Running test is also nice to have. The firmware updates on Grit X are also kind of slow, two since release, 1st immediately and with 2nd one (beginning of July) only bug fixes if I recall correctly. C'mon Polar, don't let us down and bring something to 6 months "older" users. I hope this won't be my 3rd and last Polar because I really like the Flow, especially on the computer (hint Suunto's ONLY App).
Yes! I have high hopes the they'll update the Grit X. We're all trying to make a little noise to encourage them to go for it. We'll see what happens. 🤷🏻♂️

It’s crazy the vantage V2 have all the features from the grit X. I kind of disappointed this is my first polar watch and probably my last polar fitness watch.

I wonder if they will reconsider. Make sure you mention something to them directly. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
