This looks pretty sweet! Like real old school expedition gear. Love the Made in the USA thing too. Don't ever change that.

Damn. They just up the price of this pack again by $45..along with what seems drastic increases across the product line. So much for ordering this for the summer fun. Frost River seems less expensive now. The tables have turned. Too bad. I really like my Duluth Canoe Packs, but I think these price increases are unreasonable.

I have two canoe pack from Duluth Pack that I've had for a few years now and love. They need to work out he glitch for online payments.

Hey if you want the absolute best it doesn't come cheep. You can either spend your money once for a lifetime investment or penny pinch and replace cheep junk every year. In the long run, do you really think your saving anything???

I have replaced numerous, imported daypacks. Ripped, torn, worn through. I own a Duluth Canoe pack that is almost 30 years on. Granted, it is well taken care of and hasn't been abused. I have a Duluth log carrier that is the same age. Probably used 120 times per year since purchased in the early 1990's. Not a rips, holes, or broken handles. I am considering the purchase of the Wanderer or the Rambler. Edit: I was in Duluth this summer and got 'bridged." I plan on returning this year.

Can the shoulder straps be upgraded to the leather style like I enjoy on my Sparky? Also can a belt be added at time of manufacturing?

"Since 2009, Duluth Pack’s sales have increased over 50%. Since 2010, they have expanded their Duluth based work force by over 50%. Rather than succumb to the economic downturn issues presented to them, Duluth Pack has managed to add jobs, increase sales, and increase their dealer network. Duluth Pack’s global outreach has also increased by about 50%, specifically in Asia."
Duluth Pack Press Release, 29 May 2012
Less than two years ago, a Duluth Northwoods cost $205.00 USD. Today, it costs $360.00 USD, The price increases are unbearable. Just another classic US brand turned into a luxury the average joe customer who made the company who they were cannot afford anymore. See Filson, Faribault, Frye, etc. How sad.
I'm sure the hipsters in NYC, Silicon Valley, and Seattle will be enough to support these companies, so that they can appear "rugged" and "outdoorsy" at the coffee shop. (see Danner Boots' Mountain Light Stark, a heavyweight hiking boot with a downtown sidewalk sole) The rest of us will just have to suffer with crappy, but affordable, plastic things from China.

It's funny because I have a vintage Swiss Army mountain rucksack that is completely waterproof that cost me 7 bucks at an army surplus store. Just got to know how to shop.

Lower you prices guys, Frost Rivers are $100-$150.00 less and are just as good or better. come on guys... unless your catering to city hipsters only...if that's the case, keep gouging.
