Isaiah 23: Tyre and Sidon represent major cities in Phoenicia. Tyre was a long-time ally to Israel during King David and Solomon’s reigns. King Ahab married Jezebel who was from Sidon. Tyre’s pursuit of materialism and wealth coupled with their idols leads to their downfall.
