- I've discovered so many new black-owned brands (new to me) and a purchased a variety of items. I finally grabbed some shoes from Brother Vielles, a silk scarf, clothing and more. I did have a slight issue with one of the brands that I am also going to go over. Sometimes, I am disappointed in the items I receive. I purchased from Tongoro, Grey Scale, Kehinde Wiley, Hanifa, Lorvae and more. Let me know which are your favorite black-owned brands.

I do the same, Sis, especially here in Houston. I seek out black owned businesses to support and share on my channel. Favorite newest brand is The Brooklyn Circus and their collection with The Gap. Love this video content.

Hey Lee! The Tongoro set! I have to have in my wardrobe! I immediately said I would pair it with a purple clutch and heels for a summer outdoor event! De'Ara's sunglasses line is great! The pair I want released in the first drop. I was hoping she relaunched them. I love Hanifa as well! I have three pieces and will never give them away! loved this series!
Thanks for sharing. Something I like to consider in my decision-making process for supporting businesses is whether they represent someone like me and who/what they support. I don't assume not white businesses are automatically pro-Black, and in particular pro-Black WOMAN. Whatever we support can sustain a business, the owners and the owner(s)' families for GENERATIONS. Not to mention the social capital we provide. We absolutely DO need more funding and more opportunities. It's important to make informed decisions that benefit us at the end of the day.

just as you alluded to.. why or why do our brands have beautiful items, but mess up when it comes to customer service/ shipping. I just recently had a bad experience with one ICCON. They billed me right off the bat, I NEVER received an email to even confirm my order. Their website said shipping would take up to 8 days.. well I waited, sent an email and all they did was send me a copy of the info about shipping, really? So I waited.. then all of a sudden I get an email, remember they already billed my CC, they tell me.. they need my CCV number, huh, no.. not after the sale you don't, AND get this.. They wanted a copy of my ID, WHAT? are you kidding me? I ended up filing a dispute w/ my CC, they were forced to cancel the order and issue a refund. We want to support our own, but if we can't get it together, we fail. Let's please be respectful and refer to Barack Obama as President, or former President. We are not on a 1st name basis with him so let's not do this people....he earned that and we should respect him as such, former or not!
