    A look of the overall sizing and post-7.5 mile run review.
    Overall comfortable. At 5'6~145lbs, the small didn't fit well as the waist area was super tight. Went with a medium and it fit just right. The sleeve lengths were long on both the small and medium.
    I would look at the sizing chart and if you happen to be on the "upper end" of a specific size, to go one size up. Also, it was the waist area that made the small tough to get on and off so if you are taller with a thinner waist and chest, the smaller size might be just right.
    It didnt ride up for me personally. And after this first 7.5 mile run in ~45F weather, it was fantastic and I didn't overheat and it didnt feel restricting even though I prefer less on my skin when it comes to activity.

    Just bought me a large, I’m about 5’6” 180 pounds and it fits pretty nice. Keeps me warm during my workouts and I usually start sweating after working out in the cold. I didn’t see any problem with this.

      Nice, thanks for the share. It definitely does it's job of keeping you warm in the cold! Hardest part for me is just getting out into the cold, after a bit you warm up, so this has been great too!

      exact same size, height and weight wise. was debating for a while because I saw a lot of reviews saying the neck was too tight. with the same build, I'd imagine you're also a little thick in the neck and chest/shoulders as well? I know I am, can't stand button up shirts with ties because of the tightness. but this thing is comfortable as all hell. it's not a loose t-shirt, to be sure, you definitely know it's around your neck. but nothing on the tight side. the other biggest pro for me isn't how warm it keeps you, which it definitely does, but how cool it keeps you. too many base layers/compression/long johns keep you warm at first, but then you sweat and get moist and that is a huge no no. no issues with this gear. amazing value for the money.

    What size would you recommend I’m 5’7 155 and is the sizing the same for the short sleeve version of this

    • @luckyemf
      @luckyemf  9 місяців тому +2

      Not sure about the short sleeve. But the 5'7 155 still depends on your body shape. Stocky up top? Probably a size up. Most of the weight in your legs and super athletic? Medium should be good.

    UA has messed up their lineup so bad i can't determine what i need.
    A few years ago when I started wearing, they used to have cold gear 1/2/3/4. The colder temperatures required a higher number. Very simple. Now they've done away with it, I'm trying to replace what I used to wear (3 and 4 depending upon how cold it is) with what they make now. I work outdoors. Not running, not working out, actual work. Sometimes we're standing around, sometimes we aren't. In New York we see temperatures in the teens on a regular basis. What do you feel is a good replacement for what I used to wear in their current lineup?

    • @luckyemf
      @luckyemf  6 місяців тому

      They definitely have all types of cold gear now. It took me a few tries to find the right one, adding that the compression sizing was a challenge.
      If you're wearing it for work, and you're probably going to layer up anyway, you might want something loose on underneath, so they have "cold gear" fitted and basic long sleeve crew shirts. Fitted will be slightly tight, and the regular coldgear long sleeve crew will be loose. I only have a regular loose crew and the compression one in this video.
      I think any in the coldgear line is effective, so now it's more about whether you need something to be totally against your body or you like having some air underneath.
      The compression + layers might be overkill on the warmer afternoon winters.
      Sometimes the collar looks cool popping up through your shirt, so not all base crews have that, something to consider.
      To summarize, check out the coldgear line, and think more about how you like them to fit, rather than the numbers they used to have.

      @@luckyemf they only had skin tight ones when I was purchasing these. So I'm used to them being tight. Also, because we are trying to stay flexible we don't want to wear alot of layers. My traditional wear on the cold days is a UA thermal (either their old 3 or 4 depending on how severe the weather was) coupled with regular long sleeve shirt & Carhartt hoodie and I've always found myself comfortably warm. So I guess my base question was, if you were at all familiar with their older cold gear line, what is most comparable to their old 3 or 4 in today's lineup?

    • @luckyemf
      @luckyemf  6 місяців тому

      Not familiar with their old coldgear line. Not much help to that end.

      I'm in the exact same predicament as you and when I call customer service, they say they don't know what the warmest offering is they have. I also am seeing Infrared Mocks, Rush Mocks, Fitted Mocks, Compression Mocks, and who know what else. Same thing with their leggings. I need something for the NY weather which I can wear without too much layering. I don't mind compression, nor do I mind a fitted fit. My highest priority is warmth.
      If you do narrow down the best please share.

      @john-tn8qd's predicament was tough to answer because he was comparing to the previous UA design ratings.
      You seem to want a more contemporary answer without the backhistory of UA, so just go with compression. It's easy to layer over too.

    for the people who are tall like me they actually sell a tall version of each tshirt so be carefull about that, cause if your short and buy the tall one it looks like a dress

      You must be at least 6'3+ because the standard size is already quite long.

      I'm 5'4" and my small looks like a dress if the bottom is pulled all the way down. But I normally just leave it at the bottom of the waist.

    did it end up changing as per washing and daily use?

    • @luckyemf
      @luckyemf  4 місяці тому

      I live in SoCal where the winters don't last that long so I've only been able to use it like two seasons. It didn't seem to shrink the few times I washed it. I think it's high enough quality that it holds it's own. Obviously after a wash, it fits a bit tighter like a good pair of boxers or socks, and then loosens up a bit after wear. But it doesn't seem to overshrink with a standard wash.
      This coming from a guy who doesn't usually read the "recommended wash" labels and just uses the same basic wash for almost everything. (not recommended, this might be a pet peeve of a significant other)
      But like washing any clothes, be careful to manage the level of heat since hotter temperatures tend to shrink clothes no matter how durable.

    what is your height?

    • @luckyemf
      @luckyemf  Рік тому +3

      On 5'7 it fits quite long, but they seem to be designed in a way with extra length in the arms and collar to waist compared to typical shirts. Either you'll want to let it bunch up or tuck it into your pants depending on your height.
