- As far as this channel is concerned, this is the maiden flight of my Durafly Mk.IIa Spitfire, which I bought a year-or-so ago when it was rereleased. It has already been flown for its official maiden flight, but the record of this was lost in last year's Great Data Breach where instead of archiving newly made files to backup, I was actually deleting them! Don't ask me how 'cos I've literally no idea how it happened. I will say that I fkn hate iCloud! It's the spawn of Beelzebub himself!!! A lot of what was lost has been recreated and this video is one such example. I hope you'll enjoy the flight.

Miss Gina your patriotism always puts a smile on my face. As you know I love Spitfires, and this is one we share ownership of...got that one in our fleet as well. Great flying plane, and probably the most scale 1100mm warbird out there. very well done ma'am! I enjoyed that!
Thank you, Adam! I concur; the level of detail that Durafly put in their models is astonishing! The Me.109 is at the same level of detail, too. I frequently replay your channel's Episode 45 about the Durafly Spitfire... it's simply the *very best* video out there that shows this fabulous model off.

A very nice flight / video ! I just love how they packed so much good detail into that little Spitfire. I saw you wagging that rudder for your take off. Great job keeping it on your 'runway.' And the flying was great as well. Smooth always looks more realistic for me. Then you finished with an excellent, smooth approach and touch down in the grass. A really fine landing. I enjoyed it all !
Thank you kindly, Jolly Roger! Yep, this Durafly Spitfire is a remarkable model for the price point, and I don't know how they've achieved it. The scale outline is very accurate; apparently the model's designer went to great pains to ensure that the scale fidelity remained as true to the real thing as possible. I appreciate his efforts 😍

Great plane and flight Gina . Its probably my favorite flyer. The bigger 1.5 Avios is spectacular also but this feels so light and nimble and i can leave it assembled to transport .
I never use ICloud . I just keep everything on separate hard drives or delete it after Ive made a video .
Thanks, Philip! It certainly is a super piece of kit and just looks so 'right' in the air.
Ironically, I don't use iCloud either, but I recently had to replace my Mac and during setup, I inadvertently activated it (which was the opposite of what I was trying to achieve). Before I knew what was happening, a load of my non-RC photos went up to the Cloud, which peed me off, but I managed to stop the process. After that episode, I was getting lots of annoying messages concerning bits of my new Mac needing to 'sync' with iCloud, which I ignored. Eventually they became so incessant that I caved... before I knew it, I was presented with an Apple message that was a 'fait accompli'; either I continue with 'syncing' the Mac to iCloud, or iCloud would, and I only slightly paraphrase here, 'Begin to remove files from this computer'. I kid you not! I ignored this threat to my cost... and that's how the Great Data Breach of 2023 happened.
Recently, I wondered if my 'stolen' files were actually up on the Cloud, so I made copies of all this year's flying videos and backed them up to an SSD drive (all my flying videos are stored like that now). Not only were my 'stolen' files not even on the Cloud, but only a tiny proportion of my non-RC photos were left!!!!!!!

I'm no expert , but understand more than the average Joe and it perplexed me why they made it so complicated .

I wasn't to big on saving RC videos , but i do now just in case something happens to YT or the channel . Finding time to rename them properly really helps too .

The Dynam T28 Trojan is a fantastic flyer. I think you would enjoy it.
I think you'd be correct, Rafael! 😃 I adore my E-flite 1.1m Trojan as it flies beautifully with no bad habits... but that's because the T-28 is a very well designed aircraft in the first place.
Always wanted one of those ones. It looks phenomenal.

I do like an early mark Spit, Gina! Closer to Mr Mitchell's classic design, and this looks like a good one. 🛩😍 How many different RC Spit's you got in your hangar now? Must be a few? By my reckoning the only BBMF plane you don't have is the Dakota/DC3? Any plans? My plan to progress from high wing trainer to my Parkzone Mk IX Spit was set back a little this weekend! I had a bit of a mid-air with my 1.1m E-Flite Trojan 😖. Hoping it doesn't take too long for replacement parts to come from HH now, so I can improve my skills before maybe trying my hand on the Spit by the end of the season. 🤞🤞 Anyhow, carry on carrying on! 😉👍
Hi Andrew! Sorry to read that you've had a mid-air 😵 Is it on film? If you're going to have a crunch, it might as well be recorded!! (I'll have one of those sorts of videos coming soon 🤦♀) Parts came through reasonably quickly for Al's 1.1m T-28 after that damned barn leapt up and snagged his Trojan, so hopefully you'll have the parts, pronto.
How many different Spits do I have? Lots of E-flite Mk.XIVs, this Durafly Mk.IIa and the 400mm, cartoonish Mk.1a that looks more like a Mk.IX. Currently, no plans to get a DC3.
@@purcellrcaviationchannel Sadly no photographic evidence of this unfortunate event exists Gina. 😉 Did seem to happen in slow motion though! Wasn't particularly spectacular. No real explosion of parts! Surprising as both models were foamies. I know what you mean about the 400mm Spit. It's only semi-scale. Think it was 1st modelled and released by Eachine as a Johnnie Johnson Mk IX (so the longer nose was more in keeping) and later painted in BoB scheme by Volantex/Sonik RC.
