When rick read Carl's letters that scene literally brought me to tears and when sedek told rick how Carl got bit that meant a lot too me he is one of us now he's stuck with the Alexandrian group and us fans now that he has rick and michones respect
It didn't HAVE to be this way... he didn't have to die for Negan to live... for them to have the new beginning.. I'm in tears and this is soo well done I don't know what else to say... I'm just happy that Rick finally realized who he was and decided to honor his son's last wishes.
It really didn't, especially since they just ended up following the comics anyway. It was forced, and stupid, and unnecessary. It's like Gimple thought, 'Lets just kill the future of the show because I don't know how to write a good reason for Negan and Rick not to be at odds lmao' I'm glad Rick honored Carl, too. Their bond will forever be my favorite thing about the show.

I feel exactly the same as you. Carl and Rick are TWD for me. 8.16 was a decent ep in how Rick handled Carl's desire for peace, so those scenes are worth a watch. :) I'm still angry about it. Carl deserved so much better than this.

Beautiful video. If I could offer one suggestion? Again very heartbreaking video, but if there is any way to do this on your end, I think a reduction in the music playing from the show wouldn't hurt.
Thank you! Yeah, I actually have been trying to diminish the show's background music/noise in videos, but for me, it's very hard to do. I use Audacity, but I'm not very familiar with the program, so making it work is hard. I will keep attempting in the future, though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Seriously? LOL, WOW. Okay. I started watching The Walking Dead BECAUSE of Rick and his desire to protect his family, to teach his son how to survive and grow up in this new world. THAT was the heart of the show. That WAS the show. Even through how bad Seasons 7 and 8 had been on their own, I could've handled anything else that came if it meant Carl was still alive, that everything Rick had done wasn't for NOTHING. Which, it is. The scene in the barn between Rick and Carl in season 2 set up for Carl to be the one to put his own father down when the time came. It was a natural progression. Rick and Carl's relationship was the one thing people could count on - without Carl, Rick is just a broken shell of a man living for his dead child's wish. He wanted to protect Carl, and he couldn't. And I can't watch a version of Rick without his son. I barely made it through after 8.09 and that was for Rick and Michonne. I love the other characters, but they're not enough to keep me watching. To say that I'm not a "true fan," when what I'm a fan of is what started the show in the first place, is a bit much. I'm a fan of the heart and soul of the show, which is now gone.
Seasons 7 and 8 bad? That's something a fake-fan would say. Season 8 was phenomenal. A real fan sticks with the show until it ends, no matter who they kill off. It's a zombie apocalypse, shit happens. Carl's death is the best thing to happen to the show. 8B was a masterpiece and this is all because of Carl's death and the affect it had on the characters in the second--half of the season, and his death will continue to affect them until the show ends.

Dunny2k wow, you can be just another naive fan. The 7th and the 8th season were the worst seasons and not because of the character deaths. They don't know how to handle big deaths, and the writing became so poor that millions stopped watching, just because of s7 and s8 were that "good" like you said. Because of the fans like you we kept getting filler and boring episodes, seasons, because no matter what they're feeding to you, you'll protect the garbage what they gave to you. Being a true fan doesn't mean that you'll keep saying how awesome this show is when it's certainly not anymore. Being a true fan means that you can see the mistakes and how Gimple tries to getting blindfolded you. And reading your comments means he has reached his goal.

Absolutely agree with you two!! Rick and Carl's bond was the heart of the show, now there's just an empty hole, sadness without Carl :-(
