I wanted to come back to state that my first escape room? I held a calculator in my hand the whole time so if there was any math problems or addition needed, I got dis. Then we got stuck on a problem for about 'thirty minutes' before asking for a hint to which they 'said', "You're holding it."... It was on the back of the calculator, I was embarrassed 😂
Tip #1 when finished with locks and props set aside in one specific area of the room. Tip #2 If they provide a whiteboard and marker have one player in charge of being the scribe Tip #3 Try to stay organized it saves a LOT of time
I wanted to give a small tip : if you got a white board and they give you and eraser just freaking erase everything you might find the clue this way ( in an escape room there was a white board that said "don't remove the drawers" so we used the eraser and what was left was "remove the drawers" and in another room when we erased the board there were 5 letters remaining that spelled our code)
that's very specific.l..although USUALLY if you can erase a white board then you didn't need anything on it that you could erase...unless there is bad game design in which you might need what was written on the board...depends on the game I guess. I've seen both.
Make sure to say everything! Even if you think it's completely ridiculous or there's no chance. Say it out loud because even if it's not right it could trigger someone else to think of the answer. I've had this thing where my teammate thought something but didn't say it out loud. And if he would have it would have triggered my mind so we would have won but he didn't so we ended up losing while on the last puzzle
I can’t stress enough much better it is to have a team that has a variety of techniques, personalities, and thinking skills. In every escape room I’ve been in, I make it a point to tell everyone that I know Morse code so that anyone can delegate a Morse code puzzle to me immediately instead of having to waste time finding a code sheet to decipher it, lol.
thanks for this video because it helped a lot. Me and my family went on an escape room in destin florida and were grouped with 6 other people so there was about 10 in the room. We had a lot of fun and were supposedly to only have 1 to 2 minutes left to get out. I think it was a 20 percent win rate too. We got out in 43 minutes and got the second best score on the crime scene escape room. This video really helped us understand how to work as a team and where to search for objects and the best way to approach puzzles. Thank you for making this video anyway.
If the room requires you to bring something out of the room( Eg. The one that I played which was to rob a bank, you need to bring 4 main stuff out and also any thing valuable that you can fit in a suitcase they gave you.) you should put all the stuff you want to bring out in the corner or something so you don't have to panic and waste time at the end (like us ) to find the stuffs you need in the mess ...... (We left a winning lottery ticket in there because of this。,。,。,
Don't be afraid to ask for help or use the hint systems. Sometimes you go into an escape room with someone whose mindset is "no cheating! No hints!" But unless youre some Sherlock Holmes type of person, this isnt gonna cut it.
Never been to an escape room. Glad to see this video and anything else before going to your Grapevine location Sunday. I've made reservations for 6 of us(fam and friend-ages 9 to 70) with differing talents. Hope we escape or at least have fun!
This happened to me in my first escape room after a long time , we spent 10 minutes looking for the first step which was a simple key in a box and I looked through it twice I thought it was just to catch you off guard because there was empty syringes and snakes but the key was attached to the snake. Made us lose the room bc of that simple mistake😭
Thanks! I’m doing an escape room for my birthday and I’ve done escape rooms in the past, but didn’t win that many of them because we just didn’t know any good tips on how to win. So this helps a lot, thank you!
Patricia Gallant no we don’t live close- I’m in Florida 😢. (If we’re ever blessed enough to visit Canada & you still want to go, I’ll give you a shout!! ). My family is going to “Prison Break” tonight, our first time. Patricia I hope that you will get a chance to do this some day.
I've done one escape room and it was a Harry Potter one. Here are a few things I've learned; 1. Unless they tell you specifically NOT to, touch and investigate EVERYTHING in the room. 2. In my escape room, we were in Dumbledore's office trying to find the Elder Wand. Because we were in his office, there was a pensieve. Generally, I think, most escape rooms have a hint system. So if you get really stuck, don't be afraid to ask for help. 3. If someone suggests something that seems completely ridiculous, like use a broom they found to open something, do it. Sometimes the most ridiculous methods are the most effective.
I recommend bringing enough friends to fill the game or booking private rooms. Being paired with strangers can be amazing or it can ruin the experience depending on the people you are paired with.
Well for me those workers got frustrated because we basically kept asking hints and the workers walk in to just do the whole game for us as we watched ahsjshdjdjd
Do you have to pay for a hint? If so what's a reasonable price. I don't want to go to a room and have to pay $20 for a hint that gets me nothing or is something I already knew.
The HAUNT girl. I think I have an accent cause people think I say the hot girl all the time. nope my blog was originally just haunted houses and now its also escape rooms

I love that story. That's totally something I would do.
I once held a walking stick for the whole room which was supposed to be used for a puzzle
this is exactly why they say not to hold things in the room XD

Don’t huddle around one puzzle because sometimes you’re trying to work on a puzzle that requires something else to solve it
Narmy of Narnopes sooo true!!

First step bring thermal and night vision goggles and a paper clip 😂

congrats!!! I'm glad you escaped and had a great time.
"My family and I."

Ian Ho that sounds fun! I’ve only played a few games that have you bring things out at the end. Good tip!
Don't be afraid to ask for help or use the hint systems. Sometimes you go into an escape room with someone whose mindset is "no cheating! No hints!" But unless youre some Sherlock Holmes type of person, this isnt gonna cut it.
please don't tear a room up! I work in an escape room. I spend more time repairing a room than people actually being in one. smh
You get money for that tho. So ye. We help you to have more work to do.
I think that was more of an exaggeration. She probably meant to search that room until you've seen everything.
Never been to an escape room. Glad to see this video and anything else before going to your Grapevine location Sunday. I've made reservations for 6 of us(fam and friend-ages 9 to 70) with differing talents. Hope we escape or at least have fun!
How did it go?
I'm assuming it didn't go so well...lol
Are u guys still locked up??

That’s a bummer. I hope you’ve had better luck with other escape rooms since
Thanks! I’m doing an escape room for my birthday and I’ve done escape rooms in the past, but didn’t win that many of them because we just didn’t know any good tips on how to win. So this helps a lot, thank you!
Cupidx _ hope you win!
Wonderful. Thank you.
Doing an Escape Room is on my bucket list.I really hope to do one some day. I just don't have anybody interested in doing it. :(
There are groups on facebook of escape room enthusiasts...maybe try one of those.
Let's go!
Stick of Butter Your comments are too funny- Patricia should take you up on the offer to go 😂
Can’t call myself an enthusiast since I’ve never done one LOL. Y’all probably don’t live anywhere near me 🇨🇦
Patricia Gallant no we don’t live close- I’m in Florida 😢. (If we’re ever blessed enough to visit Canada & you still want to go, I’ll give you a shout!! ).

awesome advice
Harry Potter?? That would be so cool!
My wife and I have done 5. We’ve failed every time. She wants to keep doing them. I walked out of the last one. In my mind, I ‘won.’
What city are you in? Maybe I can think of a good one that you might have fun at, sometimes it's the game that's not so great unfortunately.
Thanks for this. I'm going Friday with my co-workers.
I find these tips helpful !
Thank you { :
thanks for watching
Listening to this as I work.
I must say, I LOVE your voice! It's so pleasant!
thank you
what if i dont know the talents of my team/i'm paired up with strangers?

usually hints are free...occasionally they take time off your game.
Caged The place I usually go to givew you three hints, and you lose time for them after that
the ones i've done the first 3 hints are free then after that it is a 3 minute penalty per hint
Hey I danced like a chicken, I’m now in a psychiatric ward handing out eggs 😜

The HAUNT girl. I think I have an accent cause people think I say the hot girl all the time. nope my blog was originally just haunted houses and now its also escape rooms
Great advice, but even greater teeth. You need to be doing toothpaste commercials.
Wait...
Good grief girl calm down ,this woman would do my head in in an escape room , talk about give me a head ache..my head is spinning.
I'm pretty intense in life...actually I'm kinda laid back in escape rooms...but you should see me when I do scavenger hunts.
You on the other hand are really hot and I'd love to be stuck in a room with you 😘
