The pairing of Struble and Kovacevic was not the best. Maybe in the next match St. Louis replaces Struble for Harris to see if that works. Savard and Xhekaj were good tonight.

The team lost nearly every puck battle tonight and were surely not the better team. Nevertheless, they took advantage of their opportunities and got outstanding goaltending. Perhaps some justice for the times where they played extremely well against good teams but still lost. The Bruins on Thursday.

Nice to see the shutout for Primeau, Slav still doing his majic out on the ice, and it was great to see Gally get one at the start of the game.
This Montreal team is going to very good in the next couple years. The forward group is growing into likely the best forwards the Habs have had this century (I still really miss Dach), lots of potential on Defence and Monty+Primeau is going to be a very solid goaltending tandem

Here’s something to think about. Berkly Catton or Cayden Lidstrom, along with the moves that Hughes is going to have to make with a brim that’s overflowing with defensemen and picks, to get a quality winger, a stupid 1-4 lines, blending ridiculous skill, and some size, this could be the most relentless 4 lines and 3 d-pairing in the league, with goaltending riches. Nice to dream, but you have to know the game and this is going to happen. Florian Xhekaj with Owen Beck and Roy on the third, or fourth, take your pick, Marty better be working on his blended skills. This is going to be tough to handle. If Dach is healthy, you’ll have nice winger’s in Catton/Lidstrom and Newhook. Newhook and Dach, if healthy, sub point per game players in the 55-65 point range. Their defence will be the slowest to develop, but they have pieces, an embarrassment compared to any other team in the league. Mailloux, Engstrom, Hutson, Xhekaj, Barron, Struble, Kovacevic, Harris, Reinbacher, Guhle are all young, but something has to give, and Matheson and Savard won’t be there past next year. No massive superstars, but a bunch of ridiculously solid dmen, even the ones that will have to get traded for assets. Primeau, Dobes, Fowler, Volokhin lined up, this could be a dynasty if they manage assets properly over a long period of time. The next 10 years could be the most impressive the league has seen in a long time, if they stay patient. If they do this and don’t give up too much over a long period of time, they could recreate a blueprint to rebuild.

Well, I think we all know what we can expect from CBJ next season. They will have the most expensive bench/backup goalie of all times. I would rather do the same, then let him on the ice and lose game after game. It's either the team, or the league, something needs to change, but sadly, looks like, this is end of the Elvis ERA.

The government needs to stop letting Corporations use tickets as a tax write off. Also, we need to bring back anti-scalping laws to stop all the scalping on Ticketmaster. The hockey fans need to take a stand and fight for this. There's just no way the average dad can afford to take his son to a game anymore. Even the AHL games are getting super inflated from the same things.

I am tired -I am 72 and I always been a Habs fan- I am tired of Pee Wee coaching and big dollar players playing like Pee Wee's- The GM was clear last night he is tired of playing for 6 th-7 th place- the between periods statement was clear how look do they show very little improvenments.
