Viltrumite durability is so inconsistent, it’s shown that it takes a nuclear missile worth of power to give them a nosebleed, yet attacks obviously less powerful than nukes hurt them all the time. Take War Woman’s mace. That hurt Omniman pretty badly. The space laser was like a low level nuke, so we’ll say her mace was like the Tsar Bomba going off in his face. To reach that much energy, the mace would have to be traveling very close to the speed of light. Which makes sense because she’s exerting nuclear levels of power. And then the momentum. The mace would not only be traveling super fast, but gain a ton of mass due to relativistic effects. War Woman presumably put that much momentum into it using her flight ability, fine by me. But it’s not like the laser didn’t have the same problem, since Omniman could have easily avoided it with evasive maneuvers. He just face-tanked it as a show of force. But it’s not like the laser didn’t have the same problem, since Omniman could have easily avoided it with evasive maneuvers. He just face-tanked it as a show of force.
So really Cecil’s problem isn’t hitting Viltrumites with enough energy, it’s packing enough nuclear payload on a fast enough missile so that a viltrumite can’t just outrun it. Though Omniman’s airspeed is also inconsistent. He took a few minutes to fly upstate to where Mark was, ignoring Cecil’s shenanigans, but got up and down from orbit in seemingly a few seconds.
You can say this about literally every powerful superhero, hulk, thor, superman etc. they are all inconsistent, because fight scenes are harder to do if every punch nukes the battle field.
@ weeeellll writers don’t *have* to make their characters strong enough to withstand nukes. Being able to withstand a nuke is massive power creep. But you do have a point that there’s a reason writers aren’t physicists and physicists aren’t writers (usually)
@@52flyingbicycles Read “fall of doc future”.
It is a story that was written by a PHD mathematician, where a Flicker (speedster character) has relativistically accurate level of devastation (since the mathematician calculated the forces and made the thing as sci-fi consistent as possible). It is pretty neat
Also, being able to withstand a nuke is not a “power creep”. It is bare minimum for the superbeing to stay relevant. Otherwise they just get nukes and there is that
That would be the same price as teleporting himself 80 times
Love that line so much
And Superman almost got killed by a nuclear bomb lmao
Weaker alternate superman.
and yet superman is also able to hold up the heavens, powerscaling is useless when the characters don't have a set power level
“Haha you flinched”
What bro was gunna throw at me:
Aren’t Viltrumites able to quickly die if experiencing heat similar to the surface of the sun? Shouldn’t the laser have vaporized him?
I still don't understand how in one of those parallel universe they took him down with some kind of experimental missiles, while the Flaxans could not even scratch him, and they were clearly a few hundred years more advanced than earth.
Guess not every version of Omni Man or Mark are the same level.
If that beam just fried the crows but didn’t obliterate them to ashes ,how was that supposed to hurt omni man.
Still can't believe they didn't start charging it straight away in case. I thought Cecil was smart.
I dunno why ... But his brief, "You wouldn't dare-" had me laughing.
Omni Man vs. Super Man
Thoughts?
I just love how like
Mad and offended omni man is with that "he wouldnt dare" line
They are so petty
Bro spent over half the military budget just to make him have a nose bleed
all that for a drop of blood
