Thank you, that's great. I had a problem with this on my jeep, no drive but can go in to reverse. The nice guys at Jeep helped but i had to find a cheaper way on fixing the problem. Their team quoted about £8-900 but after someone mentioned on another site, i could pick up the part and do it myself. I'm not a mechanic ether, but can put my mind to most things. I got the gist of how to replace PCB board. Will have a go when part arrives tomorrow. Cheers
Great video! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I was in a street with a dead end… I was turning around from 3 moves and surprise… my Jeep wasn’t shifting anymore…I was looking on UA-cam and I found your video… 🙏 thank you
Hi, great video. What was the presentation of your transmission fault? My Grand Cherokee 2002 2.7 WJ loses power from the transmission intermittently (not the engine) and then when the vehicle comes to a complete stop, I put it in park and then back into drive and it works fine. I'm also thinking it's the ECU?
Board was toasted, my brother ordered a new board at a cost of around £300 expecting it to fix the issue but it didnt. Still stuck in limp mode and the 0702 code is still present. Stupid modern electronic crap. :p
I have now part ex jeep for mondeo. The 2 years I had this pile of $!%# cost around 7k to buy and keep on the road. Go 1k part ex. Will never buy a jeep again. Shame u dont live in Northampton the garage I use is amazing and has an ex jeep mechanic working there. Have you had ecu remapped? Have u tried a gallon of petrol and a match. Wish I did. Sorry could not help ur situation and best of luck.
Nope, ecu has not been remapped. He has had the jeep around 10 years now and its been pretty reliable'ish, 247000 miles on the clock so he has had his £££ out of it i suppose. Apart from the one time when one of the injectors decided to leave the head. :D £500 bill having that sorted. He has ordered a transmission plug connector thing as that wire you mentioned was all oily, read that could also cause the issue, was only about a tenner so i will change that on Monday, not holding much hope on that tho. Failing that then he will probably take it to the jeep specialist we got down here in kent.
Wow he has been so lucky. Widh mine was that reliable. Had the black death on mine. All 5 injectors replaced. Cost £1250. Had to drop the engine to get 2 of them out. Loved driving it though.
I read you could cut a hole in the scuttle panel to get to the two rear injectors. I think his is sorted now anyway. We done transmission oil change as he was getting a gear slippage code also, new pan seal, filter and loom plug where it was leaking from, he must of only had about a litre in there and it was all black. Other thing, he was wiping the codes with the ignition on and the engine management light would come straight back on, wiped with engine running, light goes off. Seems to be running sweet as now and no error codes apart from the AC, but thats nothing. So touch wood and fingers crossed. And cheers for this vid, was very helpful.
I need to do you a question, when you get the error with the car computer, could you fix it? Because on my jeep the mechanic literally could correct the error start the truck and drive it a little bit but then the error comes back again..
good man good video ,it helped me out ,but ,you went around the block to test drive it but never came back ,what was the outcome of the new part fitted ,is it safe to spend 500$ buying it or what ??

Is there any other way to take off the shifter knob my four wheel hi/lo knob does not want to come off
Mine won't change out of first gear when driving, is this the same problem you had and if so did this fix it, thanks
I have a very simple question. How can I remove the knobs from the shift levers?. Are they embedded in persion?.Thank you
I used a pair of mole grips. Clamp them to the shaft and use a screwdriver to prise the knob off.
