Gotta say, as a One Piece fan of like more than a decade and with how a lot of people have been trying it recently and not liking it, the start is indeed very slow. Since you are gonna start it, this is what I would say about the start of the series. The first 7-8 vols are spent introducing the characters and setting up the dynamics and their relations, and the first kinda "bigger" payoff of that character dynamics come like in vol 9. So if you are liking the characters, but not feeling where the plot is moving towards, I would recommend to still continue reading cuz the payoffs that happen later is gonna be MASSIVE. But still, it will be a kinda-slow fantasy adventure series, but yeah a lot of starting chunk is character dynamics focused, as opposed to stuff like The Promised Neverland or Fire Punch or Chainsaw man that you read recently which are fast paced and the plot progression is much much faster (way toooo fast in Chainsaw man if I am gonna be honest)

I'm also reading Sandman, volume 6 was weak indeed but volume 7 gets interesting again. About Vagabond, in 2015 the author put the series in hiatus and said that he'll finish it only when he fells ready, last december in a interview he said "i can’t wait to draw it" so there is a chance that he will return, but will take a special inspiration. One piece is great but starts slow and simple, don't expect a fast pace story at first.
I'm glad Sandman pick up again! Will for sure continue on in April. And I think I'm going give One Piece a few volumes before making judgement as I've heard it's quite slow but everyone says it gets better so I will stay strong and keep going 😆
My latest four - Trigun, which was great; Basilisk, a short ninja-related manga which was a random pick but actually very decent; I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, which needs no introduction and currently reading The Climber. I'm not especially into mountain climbing, but I have to say it's been really excellent so far. Also I'd love to know where you picked up that awesome looking tome of Edgar Allen Poe's works behind you. I can't even see the cover but I want it, nay, need it (even though I already have more than a few collections of his work, but the man is a god to me lol).
I assume you enjoyed I want to Eat Your Pancreas? 😁 The Edgar book I honestly cannot remember where I got it, I bought it around 10yo ago but I remember getting a similar edition for Alice in Wonderland and I am pretty sure I got it at Waterstone so I am assuming I must have gotten the same edition of Poe there? I don't think they sell it anymore but maybe on EBay you might have more luck!
