It would be really great if a video could be posted following an SLP Masters student as well. It's a very misunderstood field and would bring great awareness of SLP in a medical setting! (New SLP here specializing in medical SLP).
+LaurenAlexandra711 Hi Lauren! If you're at student here at Sunnybrook, please feel free to get in touch with our Education team education@sunnybrook.ca - we'd be happy to chat about this idea!
+Sunnybrook Hospital Unfortunately, I'm not a student there, but I know that UofT places students there so perhaps advertising with them could be an option. Hope you're able to film that video at some point :)
Undergraduate degree is around 2-4 years depending on the school, and master's degree takes around 2-3 years, where you do practical work. I am not a occupational therapist, just someone interested in going into this line of work. I have found this out from the internet and what I've heard around🙂
Nice video. The way you say it is funny. They teach you theory... and you have to transition those skills into real life settings. Doesn't seem smart on the teachers end but ok
This is literally how every degree in the medical field works. Students in medical school spend the first 2 years taking classes and learning the theory and information behind everything. The second 2 years are spent doing rotations in various areas and specialties in medicine where you apply the things you have learned in the previous 2 years.
I'm trying to decide what master degree I want
did you finally get to decide?

You need to understand the theory and data first to understand why specific things need to be done.
