Taigen Tanks Leopard 2A6 Lower Hull Upgrade for Heng Long Tanks

- Shown here is the first look at the new Taigen Leopard 2A6 lower chassis for the Heng Long Leopard 2A6 tank.
This lower chassis is a large leap ahead of most current in production designs and is VERY tough. The torsion bars are around twice as thick as the previous generation torsion bars and with the lower hull bottom being over 3mm thick, bolting through the chassis itself makes adjusting or preloading your suspension a breeze as well as most maintenance.
The road wheels and idler wheels have two ball bearings PER wheel and operate super smooth. The tank also has a new ball bearing gearbox made just for it with new external ball bearings for drive wheel support on this heavy beast. The idlers are adjustable and the tracks we have for the Leo2 are some of the smoothest around with closed pin tracks as well.
Two versions will be released, one with just the chassis and suspension arms, and another ready to add a motherboard and upper hull and it will be good to go. Prices will be announced closer to launch.
More details to be announced soon as well as some driving videos! Stay tuned and tanks for watching!

I have two heng long chassis..one full plastic tank and the other parts I put together for a canadian version. I have metal track on that one but its kinda pulling the wheels outward. This metal lower hull is PERFECT! When it does come out I'm going to replace BOTH lower hulls with metal...Thanks Taigen. Hopefully it'll be out soon!
Outstanding you made another Video ! Keep going free advertisement ! I love RC Tanks & Tuggys ! Thanks Eric !
Sweet upgrades Eric! I might have to look into one of these. Thanks for sharing this. Thumbs up!
I wouldn't run that tank in water, the reasons being is that the upper hull release switch in the bottom is not sealed to prevent water from seeping into the hull and frying the electronics and the motors on the gearbox, and it's the same with the power switch and volume control in the back, unless everything inside the lower hull has been Waterproofed.
Not only that, but the wheel bearings are not rubber sealed, so they will sieze.
I want this for my HL M1A2 for sure!! Please make this happen ;)
Any recent videos of it now? I see on your site that it is available, would love to see some videos of it running, may order one. Thank you Eric. 👍👍
Please release a upper hull for the Leopard. I like to have my tanks „full metal“ and „super heavy“ like my Tiger I and my Sherman. Please don’t worry about the price ( I had to pay the guy from the Iron foundry anyway to get a proper Upper hull metal copy), because whoever wants a full metal tank is going to pay the price.
when will these be available ? I have wanted a leopard for a long time.
wish they also did a metal upper hull
A metal upper really brings the price up a lot. Most of our modelers also prefer plastic for the upper hull for modifications as well. We will however keep this in mind though :)
Where can I get my hands on one of these? Can I buy something prebuilt, or are all these homemade?
Thanks :)
Is there a video on how to adjust track tension for the leopard?
Any News on the M1A2 Lower its been years since we last saw you say it was going to be in production Soon?
How do you take the front idler wheel off? Instructions say to insert a Philips screw driver and turn counter clockwise but I can’t seem to get a good bite on one side. Is there a way to take the cap off?
Where did you get metal roller wheels
Taigen an HL stuff comparable I want to use a upper metal turret with the plastic upper hull an chassis or replace the upper hull to
Is this lower hull water resistant? Like I mean is it water resistant all around the tank and around the switches?
DJ 3AUS just bad design …or not?
No tanks are currently waterproof at this time. The hull is much more water resistant than other models though and with a small amount of work you can make it waterproof but due to how all tanks are currently made it is very difficult to waterproof them. You need access to the internals and there is a speaker system and much more. I have however seen customer FULLY waterproofed tanks but there is a lot of work to do.
How do the wheels secure to the arms? I have the same lower hull but need to order wheels but I don’t want to buy the incorrect ones.
Hi can you get the metal chassi for the challenger 2
Hello,do you know roadwheel bearing size??
Hi ,do you know how can u put small rollers ,bearings on the wheels of 1/35 tank ,my model is static but i am trying to make the suspension wheels rolling so that the tank moves but i cant find small rollers to insert in the wheels for make them rotating ,do you have idea if somewhere exist small bearings 1/35 scale for tanks ?Thank you :)
Hey guys. Is it out now? And where can i buy it????
Regarts Michael
Not quite yet :) Make sure to sign up for the newsletter for the most up to date info. We are shooting for a late 2016 launch if all goes well for the Leopard lower chassis.
will you be making a lower hull or even a metal turret for the t90??
and will you have a metal turret for the Abrams and leos??
The Leo2 will be the first to receive a Taigen upgrade (more on that in the future, make sure to sign up for our newsletter!) and after that the Abrams is planned but will be a late 2017 release most likely. The T90 we currently do not have any plans for at this time. The Leo2 will be a nice lower chassis first, then we can decide from there how much more we want to do :) Metal turrets for these large modern tanks is a lot of weight to strain on a tank, I personally would rather have them in plastic, you cant tell once it is painted anyways.
I do post in our newsletters any kind of info I'm allowed to leak, you can find it on our website at www.TaigenTanks.com and if you check our blog you can see some preproduction Leo stuff :)
What kind of prices are we takling about for these lowers?
Hey Eric, is the quick release system available to purchase separately ?
We will have further updates later in the future, but the quick release will only work with our chassis at this time and does come with it. I'm sure a few extra wouldnt be an issue though.
cant find it in taigen site ?????
You got a approx price range for this in a complete set yet? Btw. Ate you attempting to make lower hull completely waterproof?
Price will be announced closer to launch as we will have a few configurations. Also, this one inst waterproof, but water resistant. It should however be pretty easy to waterproof up to a certain level.... I'll probably do a video on this in the future if there is enough demand.
Nice. Thnx for reply.
Anytime of course! Thanks for watching!
a merkava mk4 please
Can you tell, when this will be available?
We don't have an exact date on it yet, but most likely the end of 2016. I'll update more via our newsletter as it gets closer.
Is it okay that the road wheel aren't symmetrical?
The wheels on tanks that have torsion bar suspension are usually not symmetrical.
Will there be a disadvantage when the road wheels aren't symmetrical?
would you be making the lower metal hull for the Abrams?
We will be producing a metal lower hull for the Abrams tank, however at this time whether it will be compatible with the HL version is not known. We will keep you guys updated though!
awesome thank you so much!
Interested in this, cant find for sale on either website??

Wo bekomme ich das?
SHERMAN 76mm
It will be soon, do not worry. After the Panthers launch the next priority will be the Sherman. It should be here before the Leopard lower is done.
Is there a metal lower hull for Pershing?
No, currently we do not make a metal lower hull for the Pershing tank.
would you like to sell this with items in condition you have.
wow very nice and very ex I think :(
