Another great lesson Clay! Thanks again very much for posting and all of your hard work on making these videos for us. Bill.

Great drill. But this is a very dangerous approach if you can't get your body to rotate hard. If you shallow out and come from the inside without a strong pelvis rotation you'll flip the wrists and duck hook, push or even push/slice. Kind of what Jim Hardy used to talk about when he said never combine a rotational one plane swing with the steep arm/hand driven two plane swing.

After 15+ yrs of mediocre golf, your Top Speed Golf program has changed me as a golfer! I am now able to shoot mid 70's and yes even a couple sub 70 rounds using these simple concepts. Even when I don't hit balls as often as I want or take 3-4 weeks off, I can go to the course and these feels are still there. Makes golf so much more fun.

Clay...2 big questions..1/why not just swing back on a flatter plane so the backswing and downswing plane match so you dont have to drop the shaft in the downswing? 2/Do you grip the club with a neutral, weak or strong grip before bowing your wrist? cheers. .ps because i have a short swing like rahm i bowed my wrist at set up and all the way back and at least into impact..perfect shots, but not sure if it cost me any distance???

I've been really studying Clay's videos and making a real effort to practice his main points, and it's starting to produce real changes in my swing habits that are 25+ yrs old. Really excited at some of the improvements I'm seeing. Takes practice and a real commitment, but so appreciate Clay's style and to-the-point instruction. Better than in-person instruction IMO.

These videos on covering the ball and creating compression have really helped me. I’ve always fought coming from the outside with my irons.

Really Clay... my head is spinning... after 15 minutes the only thing I will attempt to implement is a slightly bowed wrist... Baby Steps!!!

Great analogy with hockey puck compression... #TSGRepSQUAD on deck

Clay, I’ve been struggling with the chicken wing thing. Stuck that club head toward the wall and BAM!! 205 6 iron Straight. Then I screwed around with shaping.

Are the same principles the same for the longer clubs including driver?

When I bow my left wrist I can't keep my left arm straight. I always have to bend my elbow along with the bowed wrist. I don't try to keep my arm locked straight but feel I lose to much extension with elbow bent even though I strike my irons fairly solid most of the time.

Thanks for this. It's starting to make sense for me. I'm a lefty that was taught to swing right in golf. My problem is my right arm does nothing in my swing. The hockey analogy helps. In hockey (being Canadian), I shot left and know how to add a lot of power to the shot with the left arm... I just need to reverse the arms for golf.

after a year of trying and trying this , it finally works! 9 Iron 150 yard carry :) plus made all the greens on par 3 holes, from the tee.
It really is a pleasing end to a journey . 👍
Looking forward to finally enjoying long irons..

His spin is so low with a 6 he’s turning it down to a short 3 iron. 💃

Clay, I do this move and it works really well but many times end up pulling it or hooking it, with great contact but it kills my score. Tips on that would be greatly appreciated. Love your guys swing system. Larry

people always talking about rotating and bowing the wrist to hit the ball. but do we need to turn the lead hand and wrist to square the face? I tend to stil be a little open when i try to bow.

Bowing the wrist does close the face. Not sure what you mean by turn the lead hand

You have like 3500 spin on a 5 iron??

    • @benewell292
      @benewell292 3 роки тому

Worse. It’s a 6 iron. Ideally should have backspin between 5000 and 6000 rpms at that swing speed. Which would make the ball fly higher and not as far.
