Ok who didn't do this as a kid in their back yard, obviously in a much smaller scale but still
Giant Turd Heh, got to drive my grandfathers tractor, which also convinently had a scoop. I had access to a little creek... you can see where this went, many days building dams, trenches and waterways around the farm, and for the grand finale, watching nature rip it all down (with my assistance) :D
You are lucky where you live, the digging always looks so good. Up here in New England it's always rocks and ledge laced with boulders the size of a 57 Buick lol. Tough on the teeth, buckets, bushings, pins and bearings all day long.
Watching water flow is as hypnotic as watching a fire. It just feels right.
man if I had that pond I would stock that baby up with some bass, and never leave the house.
@@Africanfrogs host a contest for whoever can catch the most fish within one day, and invite a whole bunch of people, whoever catches the most gets 250$ or something, which I imagine is cheaper than feeding all of them
@@Africanfrogs trench the pond and send the freeloaders to your neighbor's...
love watching these older videos.. awesome work
“The water was turning the frogs gay “
It would need to be rainbow-colored. This is just the DNA strand that boosted it.
Massive amounts of birth control (essentially estrogen) enters rivers as it cant be filtered out of our sewage. It does in fact cause many reptiles and invertebrates to be born androgynous, and cause physical changes in adult specimens.
Alex jones is crazy but like a broken clock, he's not always wrong
I don't know why, but it's something so calming about watching these kind of vids. :)
should have said "he's building a nice house up here and he'd prefer to have a nice mosquito breeding pond here" :))
throttle bottle won't be any mosquitoes as long as he stocks that pond with fish
You can get several dozen hogs, once the pond is a lot lower they will seal the pond, the old timers use to do.
As an operator, you are masterful.
I really enjoy watching your videos . I actually had no interest or really hadn't given thought to this type of work until I started watching your videos . keep up the good work !
Me: come on you have lots to do. UA-cam: Hey, watch this guy dig a ditch. Me: m'kay :-(
Really fascinating to see this process, thank you! Dredging a pond can be some serious and costly work ... it's a lot easier in the long run to use preventative strategies to avoid the accumulation of bottom muck in your pond. Hydro-raking and mechanical harvesting can keep a pond healthy and beautiful. Watching hydro-raking videos can also be really satisfying to watch xD
Water is floating out, so you can find the leak Chris, nice job !
I never knew a pond could be so much trouble. My pond is spring fed, and and in 10 years has never been below the top of the standpipe. In fact the only issue I have ever had, was a dead swan plugged up the standpipe, and caused the pond to over top the dam.
yeah, this is what happens when you have a pond that does not have a steady amount of water flow into it
Something in me finds this enjoyable
What a beautiful place to rest - healthy trees and nice coloured whater :)
qmpel the color in the water isnt natural its dye to see if the water was leaking in the woods
Enjoy your videos. Probably the best excavator operator I've ever seen. Smooth as can be. I'm still amazed at what all can be done with an ex.
With that pine being so close to the house I would definitely look into doing a geothermal heating and cooling system. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow! Really know how to handle that backhoe! Nice to watch someone that skilled.
The operator of this excavator is like a conductor, using the machine to create beautiful works of engineering
I was thinking dam thats coolest looking pond water ever. Then he said the guy dyed it lmao. That explains it
I love running mini excavators they are fun little machines!!!👍🏻
dang, watching these oldies is something else. That ain't no Volvo 220 there.
One man Army Corp of Engineers, great work!
I don't know why this was recommended for me, but I'm glad it was.
I heard him say "Drain off into the woods" about 30 times
Good job and video. Thanks a lot.
Awesome video Chris,Thanks!!!
Nice handling of that machine. Seems like somthing fun to do. Dam you got it easy with that dirt. Here in Hawaii would have been hammering three blue rock to drain that. Nice video man inspiring makes me wanna vid some of my D9 work! ALOHA
As my Geologist friend would say "There be some copper under dat pond"
im a equipment operator for tha last six years and i love it i also do renovations on homes on tha side to would not give up my operating seat for nothing in tha world
You're a real piece of work buddy!
You’re pretty damn good with that little excavator
Similar reconstruction work in America and Europe.
Good work!
Good luck with all the rain we our self have had a nice of it up in central pennsylvania Lycoming we are getting reaty for the snow soon
That's no ditch. That's the new Panama Canal! :)
God damnit Bobby! Awesome video, keep up the good work! 🤙
Fascinating 😀😀😀👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
That ditch is a nice straight line; obviously I was NOT the operator. With my eyesight and lack of coordination all you would see is a corkscrew!
Thanks for the video. Sometimes I wonder why folks don't take out the beaver lodge as well - if you can find it. Of course you need a big machine to do that or some dynamite. Beaver may be beautiful animals but like feral hogs they do a lot of damage.
Except this isn't a beaver pond. I work in public works and those damn beavers are a huge headache. They are always daming up our culverts and causing flooding issues and undermining roads.
I would really like to see how you do this hole project.
As an operator I fucking love jobs in the woods/ middle of nowhere it's so zen haha
Something very therapeutic about watching it drain
That water looks like it’s been dyed!!
Btw you remove the retaining area of soil after you have finished your channel, it’s a lot less messy that way
I LOVE this stuff. Must be the little boy in me. He was real chewy with small bones but I got him down.
Boa noite amigo. Posta depois como ficou.? Top gosto demais destes vídeos. Uberlândia MG. Fique com Deus.
From past experiences I have had to go in and cut the tree's off the back side of dams cause they will make the pond or lakes leak. And had really good luck doing that. But I also ground a few stumps to. Which helped to.
When I was around 10 me and my friends wanted to always have an excavator or bulldozer to clear a path in the weeds and make a fort. Never happened but it would’ve been fun
Those little yanmar's are hard to beat!
I remember one of the first vids of yours I ever watched was you draining a pond. The one where you had the mats and you worked your way in and drained it down! haha
You should put a net across it. See if you can catch your supper! Haha
Is this your Yanmar, Chris ? Nice job, I hope too that you'll show us more of this job, especially if you've found where it's leaking from .
Youve been doin this for awhile love the straight lines of your ditch
You need to make longer videos. You leave us hanging all the time.
Dude got bars on that little excavator Makin that shit look easy. My first time running a kobuta that size I almost flipped it on a slight hill trying to dig a stump. That arm will save your life lmao.
Go to an asphalt plant and they will give you for free the -200 grit silt which is a extra byproduct from asphalt production, perfect for bedding ponds , it’s basically fine silt almost clay , I ran a plant for 7 years and we wish we could find someone to take it , it makes awesome pond bedding , put 6” on bottom of anything you want to hold water lol , and it helps PH
that's awsome. Are you using a gopro or a gopro session if you don't mind me asking .Your videos are clear as hell buddy and you do a awsome job at your work and recording.Thank you for sharing
I like the vio 55 they are a good well balanced machine
Bootiful.
You should give us an update on this pond!! Does it still leak?
Nice little pond .
Great job with the excavator!
Congrats on your new bog
You did a fine job
skip to 4:56 for the good part.
He's actually a good excavator operator..........👍
That pond water is clearer than oceans in CT.
yessss! I love these videos hahah
Great video bud!
Somebody must have shot a hole in the bottom of the lake if it keeps draining
For the cost of that house and pond and work done, you could buy an average single family home 10 years old here in lower mainland BC.
This one is a classic for me this was my very first video I watch the of letsDig18 I watched it three years ago
Great job
I wanted to see the bottom but other than that good video thanks for sharing
Wow a video worth watching in my sub box
Cara você esta destruindo um ambiente lindo
how do like your job I mean it is truely amazing
I dug a pond up at my work in florida, and the water was blue like the color of the pond in the video, except it was natural
Looked like some damn kool-aid.
I have never used one of these machines.
I have never worked in Demolition/logging etc
Why am i so fascinated by this?? wtf??
Great video. How expensive is it to do one of the farm ponds as I am getting ready to build a homestead here in my area and once I can get some farm grants to buy the acreage needed for the bigger animals and such would love to have a farm pond for watering the animals and crops?
really depends on the size and amount of dirt that has to be moved. they can get pretty expensive
Love me a good ol pond drain
Your good on any excavator big or small!!! How do you you like those Yanmars??? We got a Vermeer dealer that sells them here in Indiana!!!
Cool Video, Good Job Sir.
When first saw that pond. Thought that was the cleanest of all, because of the water. Chemicals to check for leaking. 🥴
At 5:12 he breaks the dam. It’s just watching him dig until then. Also, don’t get to see the pond dry.
6:13 "That will drain out through the woods. I don't know where it goes but it is a long way 'til it gets to anything." How many acre-feet of water will be coming out of the lake? Will the water get to some other person's property? Will the water kill any of the trees?
i dont know what the hell is so interesting about a pond draining. but it is haha
Over Kast
yes
Because, somewhere, some Bunny Hugger is howling in agony!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more! I also like the dam removal videos?
@@mattferguson8648 I like it because it's not my pond ;]
Yeah it’s weird. I would have put it on par with watching paint dry but now changed my mind! 😂
