  • Peter Wright on the relief of the Premier League ending, jumping on the Luke Littler Train and the possibility of the Worlds moving to Saudi Arabia " You either get on the train or get off. You'd be a fool not to, and if they decide to change the World Championships from Ally Pally to Saudi Arabia bring it on because it's all about looking after the players."

The world championship moving to saudi Arabia would be an absolute disaster, the atmosphere and crowds would be shocking.

    Look at boxing in Saudi.
    Dead atmosphere.
    Snooker in Saudi.
    Dead atmosphere,no punters.
    Football in Saudi.
Less than 10000 attendances fir most of the teams except the top few.
Saudi for the worlds would be the biggest travesty in the history of darts.
Gezzy will love it cos itll be silent.

that doesnt matter - Eddie H will get paid a fortune to go, so it could be played in front of 3 blokes and a camel for all he cares as long as they are paying....they'll just pipe in some crowd noise like they did during covid and crack on. Eddie is the sports washers go to guy

Is it really all about looking after the players??? No, it's about looking after the sport. Moving to Saudi Arabia would be ridiculous and damaging. I like darts, but it's a sport where a decent particular crowd is essential, otherwise it's just not that interesting a sport without a crowd. The crowd helps bring out the personality of the players, adds another dimension to an otherwise monotonous sport.
I'd like to hear players opinion if the money was the same. Reckon they'd suddenly all become passionate about the traditions of the sport then.

Really want Snakebite to get back on track. It doesn't surprise me about the possible move to Saudi Arabia; another professional team following the big money and throwing tradition down the drain.

I agree with you, Barry Hearn needs to understand that terrible consequences of moving The World championship away from Ally Pally and understand how his ideas to move darts to Saudi are just destroying the PDC & the future of Darts.

Peter Wright doesn't agree. He thinks it's a good idea. Madness 😠
So many variables as to why it won't work. I see it taking away the family aspect. I don't think they'd allow young kids in like they do now, and also the cost to fans and players/families would be astronomical. I don't believe the atmosphere would be the same either due to lesser crowds. Plus the no alcohol rule. It's a tough one for sure.

Cant believe snakey said that. Darts going to saudi arabia would be the death of the sport in my eyes, Im no alcoholic but if you cant drink at the darts you are better off watching it on tv, better viewing experience and you can drink

It's a fkn travesty that darts are in venues like this. Players being forced to travel. We All know it won't last. You can't beat history of the game. Someone is getting a massive bung of cash. This shud be in the prize pool. Or, donate free stuff for spectators on the day. It's simple to keep morals.. it really is.
