Vincent Price is such a wonderful actor and person. He once flew from his home in L.A. to London to appear on a talk show where his friend Christopher Lee was surprised for his birthday. Lee later said, "I don't even have family who would travel from another city to visit me."
I can't remember how many times I've watched this movie with my husband,he loved it so much,he would say the creepy rich couple was us,it was fun,I didn't come across the colorized version until after he died, he would have still loved the b&w version best.first time watching without him, love Vincent Priçe!!
I came here after I watched an old episode of Perry Mason and saw Annabelle. She has a sexy playful way about her. I agree with you about Vincent Price. He is a cool dude.
This movie is so much greater then the remake. I though the house was really haunted, but I was wrong and not at all upset because when you have an actor like Vincent Price you got a true classic.
I hated the remake- too gory, not well acted and full of strong language. This version is an absolute classic and having Vincent Price in it makes it all the better- a true horror legend
If you think about it, the house could be haunted cause in a way it drove people to commit seven murders all in horrifying ways and the same happened at the end. Maybe the house is evil and attracts evil people to come and do evil things.
Great colorizing on this one. This is another great Vinny Price flick, I saw at theater. Man did it ever excite, and scare my brother and me back then. As do all his movies, still today. 👍👍& 10⭐
My favorite line is when Vincent Price said: " Annabelle you're missing all the fun". The scene I like is the appearance of the scary looking caretakers. " Fear makes people do crazy things" indeed.
I grew up watching this as a little kid, and I just remembered how horrifying and scary this movie was. Now as an adult its a classic that I hope will live on for many decades, and possibly centuries. RIP Vincent Price, you may have left this earth, but your act and voice will carry on forever👏🏻😊
The giants of Horror.... Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, John Carradine, Bela Lagosi, Boris Karloff... and Price... Whose voice and mustache sells the movies he stars in!
This house--the Ennis House--sits up in the hills of the Los Feliz area of Hollywood. When they shot the arrival scene they to do it very tight because the actual street is so narrow, maybe about 12 feet wide. If two cars meet up there one of them has to back into a driveway to let the other pass--if they can find a driveway. I lived on such a street in my youth in the Mt.Washington area of Los Angeles and let me assure you it was no picnic to try to get around cars on a street like that.

Growing up this was always good for the late night horror shows. I always enjoyed watching Vincent Price. I also enjoyed listening to his old time radio show The Saint.
This movie literally scared me more than any other. I watched this movie House On Haunted Hill and had a night terror later on so bad my doctor told my family let me stay home from school the next day. The movie that scared me almost as much was another Vincent Price outing called "The Tingler". I look at the movie now and laugh that I was once that innocent. The remake is garbage compared to this. Vincent Price owned this role and was among the nicest people on Earth! A real class act.
I have always loved this movie. Every time I've seen it, I would watch it again. I finally bought the DVD of it so I can watch it anytime I want. Thanks for sharing.
I remember how much this movie frightened me as a little kid. Many years later I found out this movie was filmed near where the LaBianca murders took place.
Bit sad I won't be able to make it to the live upload of this fantastic film and chat with all you guys and gals. Still it's nice to know where I see the film again when it's more convenient. Take Care ✌️ everybody 👋
I don't trust people who don't like this. It's the haunted house movie to end all others. Even my generally old movie hating sister thought this film ruled when I showed it one Halloween.
😮You know, I forgot just how chilling this film can be and you know, it's funny. It relies more than atmosphere than anything else and you don't know really if there is ever even a ghost in the film. It may have all just been a murder mystery. I disguised as a ghost story or the whole time but I always felt like there was something Supernatural in that damn house that influenced everything. That was the good part of how the road and you didn't know how much of the story was just the murder mystery or how much of it was actually Supernatural.😮

The music is the scariest part of the movie. I couldn't watch a full movie when I was a kid!
Turn the volume down! That scream in the beginning of the movie will make your ears die.
