ok, so i have a somewhat odd theory about why jimmie johnson's prologue crash looked so similar to ryan newman's 2003 daytona crash. i think that early in development, the devs wanted the prologue to be a flashback to an alternate version of the 2003 daytona 500, where newman flipped in the trioval real badly. i doubt that they would keep in the whole "gordon vs. newman" thing for esrb reasons, but maybe, the prologue would have newman and rusty working together to bump draft to the front, passing the 2 hendrick cars. (or maybe the dei cars, if they wanted to keep it realistic) and then of course, newman would end up in his infamous accident, and the game would prompt the player to switch to rusty wallace to take home the victory in the daytona 500. not saying that any of this is true, its just speculation.
Not bad of a theory it almost seems as that's what they originally planned before they decided to use Hendrick and DEI since Gordon and Newman did have issues with each other in 2004 also wdym by they probably wouldn't keep the Gordon and Newman thing for ESRB reasons just wondering how that could violate that? But that is a good theory as to why they originally had Newman and Gordon as the rivals in the prologue.
You might have a point, if you pay close attention, the #12 car model is actually the one used in 2003, with the (censored) Winston Cup decal instead of the up to date Nextel Cup Series Logo, also the Dodge model is still the Intrepid in some shots instead of the 2005 Charger
Naw, I think this is just an early draft trailer mocked up in previous releases to show the overall structure of the trailer. The footage consists of NASCAR 2005 CFTC, as well as NASCAR Sim Racing. All of the schemes are from the 04 season. You'll also notice in the cockpit shot about halfway, it's actually super-imposed on bumper cam.
@@AustinOgonoski Exactly, the footage from 0:55 is from NASCAR Sim Racing towards the end. Despite that, they did use a new or modified engine for 06, though it's sad there were no sunset races except on the hawaiian bonus track (and no evening to night cycle) like it was in 03, 04 and 05.
Can't help but notice the lack of a Nextel Contengency sticker in some shots like it was from the Winston Era. In fact, you can even see a true value sticker on Ryan's car in VL.

It was probably a working title but also because of the new chase for the cup rules in NASCAR and to continue a new series as Thunder was. Afterall the changes probably were sigificant they choose to promote the new game mechanics with the crew control. However all the footage is put together from NASCAR 2005 and the footage from @0:55 to the end is from NASCAR Sim Racing for the PC.
Correct sort of. Xbox 360 port was canned because of the failure of Madden 06 360 port. GameCube port was never on the drawing board because of the limited space on the mini discs… such a shame that we missed out on NT2004 and N06 TTC- N09
love Breaking Benjamin. NASCAR 07's soundtrack is underrated. 40 miles to Vegas, The Hangmen, The Lazy Cowgirls - Frustration, Tragedy & Lies are my favourites
Correct it was supposed to have a 360 port title but never made it past the development stage probably because of the Madden 06 360 port that was an absolute fail. GameCube had no plans either because of the tiny discs memory so a port never happened for that system
