My great grandparents are pure blood Germans, my great grandma’s first born child was conceived through this program, she said that after she gave birth to him she regretted her decision. She calls that the biggest mistake of her life. She literally told us that like 2 years ago, she also said she tried so many times to get the information needed to find him but when she thought she did it wasn’t actually him, she knows because he was born with a huge red birthmark on his forehead.

My paternal grandfather was adopted from Germany. We’ve tried to find his birth parents and look into his bloodline, but haven’t been able to come up with anything at all. His adoptive parents had no information on them either. Everywhere we’ve looked has always been a dead end. Makes me wonder if this whole thing had something to do with how he was adopted. He passed away a few years ago and never got any answers to any of the questions he had about his birth family.

The men also where chosen for their looks, height, body strength and even intelligence. From my understanding the men were described by the ladies as " handsome Teutonic giants" so the image of the old officer used in the video isn't really correct.

I'm from Norway, and my grandmothers sister fell in love with a German soldier... They Maried.
When the war ended she got fysically damaged by people, that women had a hard life. She moved to East Germany, and when the wall was build.. She wasn't allowed back to Norway.

@@catholicracialist776 after ww2 those who were a part of the program (the children) had lots of problems coming their way, they were left to die alone, their parents didn't want them because they wanted a new life, they would be abused by adoptive parents or biological to death and if they were lucky they survived, adults and children hated them (aspecaly in norway and probably other countries too), it was all horrible and most people don't even remember this

I work as a home health aide in the USA, and I had a client who was actually one of these children. He was adopted by an American officer (I forget the rank). His numbered tattoo was burned off years ago, and I was present as he recorded a video testimonial of his childhood. The stuff he mentioned was heartbreaking.
Stories like this is really the only thing that keeps me going in this job (because pay is garbage), and I look forward to every new client.

Despite the fact that this happened many years ago, I still wondered how the Germans were able to cope with such dark history, especially those who'se descendants who actually committed such horrible crimes.

Children should never be punished for the sins of the parents. I understand why people wouldn't have adopted may of those children but if more of them did the children wouldn't have grown up so angry and alone which could have possibly lead to them sticking with the hate they were taught to feel.
