Carter and Abby's story revolved around the subject of addiction. Each had their own, each grew up around the addictions of others, each never knew a clean life without influence from some substance or another. Maybe it was enough to give these two the impetus for their on again, off again deep affection for each other, but that ain't true LOVE. Abby found it with Luka. Carter found it and lost it with Kem. This was such a well written and acted series!
Seriously come no one cant say that these two didnt have amazing chemistry together! Luka might be a okey guy a nice guy but Luka and Abby never had this kind of chemistry what Noah and Maura had! I think Luka will always be the next best guy for Abby! I wish they would have rather send Luka to stay in Africa
I can say that. They didn't have any romantic chemistry. Luka was never the "next" guy, she always chose him first. Re watch season 7. She never loved Carter. They had 2 seasons to repair Carter and Abby and they didn't bother because they knew the relationship was just bad.
Abby and carter had good friendship chemistry but all he ever wanted to do was fix Abby so she would live up to his standards. Romantically they were not a good match. Luka was so much better for her for one simple reason he loved her for her flaws and all no blocking out part of what she says. Carter said she blocked over half of what she said. Abby always felt like she was disappointing him. It’s two addicts bonding over their own addictions that is not love. Hell he even said he didn’t propose to her in the restaurant because it felt wrong and said something wasn’t working. Yeah something wasn’t working alright, it was his need to fix her to live up to his expectations and when she wouldn’t do it he abandoned her for Africa despite how she felt about it and broke up with her in a letter. Then came back with a knocked up African girl named Kem. Once again not love. Abby got her happy ending with Luka, a marriage a son and a new job in a new city.

Okay, this scene makes more sense Now.. I was bewildered, thought I heard her say she couldn't go to a meeting if she was drunk...WTH? KNEW that wasn't right..But Hollyweird dose it's own thing..
She was a bit unnice to me , making her life a misery when there s a lot of people who has that kind of family. I had an alcoholic father and it runned to some relatives , surely I could be alcoholic too or my children. I dont have kids to avoid a horrible life and that s all. I am happy and free from that horror but she destroys her life.

You take a hungover rock bottom person to rehab IF they agree. You don't take a drunk person to rehab against their will. Ridiculous.
She basically did the exact same thing to him when he was a using.
