As a Brit, I'm happy to see the dinosaurs of our sopping grey isle get highlighted in a documentary!
On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate being shanked in the streets of London?
@@suchomimustenerensis A solid 4/10. My reasoning is to be left to the imagination.
Ah yes, our regularly scheduled program
Dinosaur Britain is so underrated,I remember watching it when I was about 7 and loving it.It’s really good
Are you a 14 year old too or almost or little older? OMG! I'm a 14 year old too! Awesome! #Jurassic_Teenagers
You both make me feel old...
That baryonyx is stunning. Imagine seeing that design in Jurassic world
if only!
As a green ogre once said: "Likes that's ever gonna happen.. what a load of *toilet flush*
But we got that abomination in fallen kingdom
Or even the JP3 Spinosaurus design without the sail
Glad to see Baryonyx get some love in these docs for once. It’s such an interesting creature and one of the most complete in the spinosauridae family, hence why it’s my favorite dinosaur.
My fav has always been suchomimus but yeah I agree
Mine as well
One of the reasons why I apsolutely love the spinosauridae family is because they are so well adapted to fishing, swimming and I love their long thin snouts and conical teeth. The head crest looks better as a little bump on the head instead of the two crests of spinosaurus from JP3.
Being British my self this documentary has a special place in my heart
Great to see you Lourin. How’s your channel doing?
@@joshuaW5621 err alright
I'm pretty sure Megalosaurus was at least in "When Dinosaurs Ruled".
Baryonyx had a web-exclusive BBC documentary "The Mystery of Baryonyx", which can be called a secret third episode of "The Truth about Killer Dinosaurs".
"It's one of the documentaries that haven't engaged in serious time-travels"
They literally put all dinosaurs in modern UK :p
Joke aside, I think the setting is actually the reason why they don't change dates, documentaris change dates, so that dinosaurs from different timeframes can be shown together in one setting. Of course if your setting is modern times, you don't need to change the timeframe ^^
It's so refreshing to see a faithful depiction of Baryonyx after the prevalence of the awful Jurassic World version
I made a joke about this but cut it out last minute. Seemed too mean spirited since I've already ragged enough on JW. But you can make the joke for me XD
It’s fine red raptor
Nice joke but Jurassic World is not comparable with a documentary since it's not a documentary
Right, but it’s still pretty mediocre as a movie.

I just realised Jellyfish studios who did this show, Planet Dinosaur and a few others also did the CGI for the Book of Boba Fett, and of course Prehistoric Planet. Thats probably a reason why it is so bloody good. I realised this team was linked to Jon Favreau, thus Prehistoric Planet, so when I saw the croc dogs the sandpeople have in Boba Fett and how real it looks (genuinely that couldve been a notosuchian in Prehistoric Planet and I'd be convinced im looking at it alive stood there) I was even more excited for Prehistoric Planet. But now that I know that was the same studio behind this and Planet Dinosaur it shows how much the tech has improved and the animation work, and I'm assuming the budgets they've been provided with. Awesome to see a studio do so well with palaeo media specifically and only get even better and more realistic overtime. They work on other stuff too of course, but they've done A LOT of palaeomedia that is all either pretty brilliant to the best we currently have, I dont see something topping PP anytime soon.
Genuinely, if we were to ever see Primeval come back or something like it, I think itll be Jellyfish Studios behind it, and if the animals look as good as they do in Prehistoric Planet, we would be in for a treat. Simply put, if dinosaurs are in the modern world, roaming cities and stuff, if its not in the UK its just not right lol, and is for some reason usually much better quality.
Prehistoric Planet was good, Planet Dinosaur honestly…isn’t. Not only is it insanely focused on predation, they didn’t even succeed in depicting predatory behaviours all that well in many cases, and much of the supposed fossil evidence they show in the documentaries to justify their depictions are not properly explained and even misinterpreted at times.
@@bkjeong4302 It is better than most though. And yes obviously Prehistoric Planet was better, The studio obviously improved as I said
@@flightlesslord2688
I’m not really sure if it’s even better than most; some of the issues are so glaring that PD is actually a step down in these areas.
@@bkjeong4302 I disagree pretty strongly. For the time a lot of it was pretty spot on, and its far superior to a lot of other palaeomedia from the time.
1:22 queen elizabeth was so old it is probably considered paleontology to talk about her
YOOOOOOOO
I now imagine a Baryonyx drinking tea and eating B I S C U I T S, thank you.
Glad that Megalosaurus finally gets to be in a documentary! As the first dinosaur ever named this animal deserves much MORE popularity and also deserves to be in another documentary!
Yes, I know I’m two months late but idc.
As biologically impressive as T.rex is, T.rex gets excessive attention from media.
@@wetube6513, definitely.
Amazing as always!
And don't call yourself a looser, bud! Your channel provides one of the most unique dinosaur content and we love you for what you're doing!
Just stick around and you'll see, my man!
Thanks for this great video! You showed up just as I ran out of dino documentaries to watch))
Excellent video, Red Raptor. I've never seen this documentary before (other than a couple clips in the other dino doc videos), and it pleases me to know that it turned out so great. Very excited for the outback coming next. Also, you are FAR from a loser, sir.
If there’s one thing the British are great at, it’s making documentaries about prehistoric life.
The one with Stephen Fry is not a documentary but an abomination
@@nateperez7768
Fair point.
But that’s just one terrible documentary in a sea of greatness.
Wow, this got higher than WWD3D! I was not expecting that. I remember liking this one when I watched it a few years ago, but my dad though it was an ad.
I have been waiting for ages for another Dino doc reviews
Great vid! Nice to learn about dinosaurs with the UK as the focus, also love the Bri’ain pronunciation 0:19 😂
1:17 first time watching this and as a Brit thank you for the condolences and polite manner for this video, love your stuff!
Aaah finally, I love this kind of videos, they are just 10/10
Nice to see the documentary I suggested got a video :D
I actually watched both parts and I found it entertaining and the Proceratosaurus segment introduced be to the dinosaur for the first time, and I want to see it in the Jurassic franchise and in Jurassic World Alive, I have Proceratosaurus and it has feathers, also R.I.P The Queen
The Barryonyx design looking at it is probably my favorite of the series
With the first species being dubious, I’m kinda surprised the name Iguanodon is still used, but I guess it wouldn’t be right axing the name Iguanodon.
That's an interesting point. The name Iguanodon didn't get axed because bernissartensis became the type species before the axings started. So paleontologists had many good specimens of the Belgian Iguanodon.
Isnt it mantellisaurus.
Now i want to see a documentary called "Dinosaurs Czechia" and it would be just 3 hours of someone talking about how Burianosaurus is the best dinosaur.
Yay love these vids they’re some of my favorites
Iguanasaurus sounds like "lizard lizard". Love that Dinosaur Britain is free on UA-cam
its funny cos igaunas are lizards
@@hyena_fan and Sauros means Lizard in Greek..
No, Lizard Means Sávra In Greek!
The Most Inaccurate Thing Here is that the Baryonyx didn’t Drop Dead Immediately After Sticking it’s Face in the River Thames
💀
Back in the early 80s I helped clean and repaint the Crystal Palace Dino's as part of my school work experience. We painted most of them glossy dark green, but from what I remember the Megalosaurus was painted bright red.
This seriously was a good review and would definitely say it's deserves its rating
I'm glad you added the metric sizes xD
I jump back and forth between metric and imperial like parkour lol
Trying to be more consistent.
There are multiple mythologies about giant humans living in the British Isles, some were even Greek in origin, so that's probably what they were referencing with the name given to that Megalosaurus bone.
Cant wait for the dinosaurs in the outback review. Its about time i know more about Australian dinosaurs the only one i know is austrolovenator
It's really a nice tough, see a great tribute to have highlighted the this region of the world and his own prehistoric local fauna as the local paleontology History too !
Because, thing who is often put on the sides and not too much mentionned in most and current Dino Doc or medias, is that the Britain country was litterally the BIRTHPLACE of the Paleontology Domain as a whole !
Really, that is not nothing !!
Not only the country where the first species where named, that the word "Dinosauria" was created, and the Paleontology Domain was made first, but most of his earliest debuts and most impactfull discoveries and studies who will defined the way to understand the life from the past were made here too. And that during many decades.
Sure, all the next chapter with the Paleontology History in North America/USA who will just follow after this beginning will greatly reinforced better our methods and knowledge about Paleontology and Prehistory in general, but that changed anything on what the Britain country role had done in the Paleontology existence itself.
A country, and fact, who deserved more recognition !
i always loved this documentary as a british person myself. also, baryonyx is one of my favourite dinosaurs.
13:40 I think it's completely fine to sometimes question the fossil interpretations of paleontologists. After all, these people usually specialize in osteology, taxonomy and geology, rather than etology or ecology. I just finished reading The rise and fall of the dinosaurs by Steve Brusatte, and the guy's really great at explaining fossils and taxonomy, but he also states some pretty dumb stuff, such as T.rex being as smart as an ape, because it had a similar EQ.
T. rex may have been a smart animal for its time period, but *definitely* not ape level intelligence. I haven’t heard of Steve Brusatte, so I might have to read his book myself whenever I come across it.
Your not going to say anything about how the door ‘bit’ the raptor and how it turned and got snappy at it, like any animal would.
Or about how the two people ran from the little animals like a child running from a rooster?
Funny I've never noticed it this way before, but the Baryonyx in the thumbnail looks terrifying as heck.
I have some suggestions for future Tier Videos. Keep in mind, *some* of them aren't really Dino Docs, but I hope you like them:
Prehistoric Planet
Terranova
Disney's Dinosaur (Though I'm 100% positive that it's gonna be a very big and very fat F)
Camp Cretaceous
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Land of the Lost
The Dinosaur Project
You should also do videos based on how to improve the failed Dino Docs, just like how you did Jurassic Fight Club.
It's okay, the Queen just became another fossil for us to study
came to comments, not disappointed 😂👍🏻
12:53 "I am stronger, I am smarter I am better I am better!"
Watched this one recentlg and it got me thinking. A Dino Doc I would love to see is a history of paleontology. Like, each episode would pick a group of dinos and show us the progression of what people thought it was like over time. I'm talking full CG Crystal Palace Iguanadons, with paleontologist talking about why they thought that, and what evidence led to the change to the kangaroo Iguanadon, and so on though 90's shrink wrapping and on to today's most updated depiction.
Because I find the inaccuracies fascinating, and to know the actual process that led to our modern understanding gives so much of an insight into how Paleontology, and science in general, works.
I just watched this yesterday on UA-cam and was going to ask you to review it
Ah! A documentary about my kin! I love how much attention British dinosaurs have been getting lately. How wonderful!
Why is that documentary so underrated? I like it!
What they didn't show is the dinosaurs having a scrap in Birmingham
Before you write the outback documentary I hope you remembered David attenborough's natural history museum alive, made in 2014
ohhh I loved that program!
21:38 there was actually an older documentary from 1999 called when dinosaurs ruled and in the European episode called birth of giants it also covers the early history of dinosaur discoveries
I remember watching this as a kid and its amazing to see it getting the respect it deservers :D
How about doing that one special where scientists do an autopsy on a Tyrannosaurus corpse?
Could the next documentary be "When dinosaurs ruled" from 2000? thank you
I did watch some clips of this documentary and it is pretty good I am not going to lie
The Baryonyx was one of my favorite dinosaurs.
So poorly represented in fallen Kingdom as another mindless movie monster.
@@wetube6513 I honstly like the FK Baryonyx 😔.
Good to see more dinosaur documentaries being ranked again, can't wait for more accuracy reviews of them.
That Spongebob part is funny and accurate😁🤣😁🤣😁
The Ice Age 3 reference won me over!
Happy to see my boy Baryonyx finally getting the appreciation he deserves
I remember watching Dinosaur Britain when it aired.
This is the Documentary that has Baryonyx as a Subject instead as a Spinosaurus Example and I Respect that
You could review last day of the dinosaurs next
even though i havent seen the entire documentary, from what i have seen the models were very nice
Will you be doing an accuracy review of t rex ultimate survivor?
Where is Monsters in the Outback? I need to see it. Its an Australian Paleo Documentary that no one pays attention to and it features my favourite dinosaur, Australovenator.
Can you do prehistoric Dallas/los Angeles, prehistoric planet, and dinosaur13
Something that bothers me is that even when people give raptors full sets of feathers, they're always still really... flimsy. Their feathers are always super short and their 'wings' look useless. Raptors were pretty fluffy in general, and their arms didn't just have longer feathers on them, they had WING feathers. But even accurate documentaries RARELY depict this. The only one I can think of that did was Prehistoric Planet. Even this documentary gave them the pathetic but full feathered look with useless wings and tiny, short feathers with 0 fluff factor.
The thing I like the most in this documentary, it's the sequences where the dinosaurs are alive in our modern times and roamed into the streets, town or the landscapes.
It's truly funny and enjoyable to see, and watching them interacting with the people and the differents modern objects and structures.
The overall give truly feelings and vibe of what could be a Jurassic World Dominion production, and that even way before the JWD in question !
(btw great movie and conclusion to the second trilogy and the overall saga).
My favorite of these sequence is the one where we see the Iguanodon walking inside the Crystal Palace Park, just to the side of the iconic Crystal Palace Iguanodon stone Statues !
It's truly a nice and symbolic tribute that this specific sequence depict and show to the audience.
It's truly show and symbolize how far our scientific knowledge and understanding view of the dinosaurs have evolved overtime from the 1800's.
A&E’s Dinosaur with Walter Cronkite was the last docu to mention and tell the story of Megalosaurus’ discovery.
my favorite dinosaur documentary
Hey Red Raptor Writes can you please review Dino Lab from the 2000's
I’m not sure he’ll do it, but I have Dino Lab one and two on a DVD with three other documentaries
I loved how he said that the Dino’s drank tea
"hasn't engaged in serious time travel"
Proceeds to show a small dinosaur rumaging a hand bag
I love how the name Iguanosaurus would just be Iguana lizard. Amazing.
I recon you should review David Attenborough: Natural History Museum Alive
What is next???
prehistorisk planet accuracy review even if they are very accuret it whod still be cool :)
You should look at lost worlds, vanished lived
I was looking forward to this show but I have yet to see a good documentary which shows animated creatures in a modern setting. Although this is definitely one of the better ones
Talks about how he’s sorry about the death of the queen….”let’s dig this up” lmao 😅
So, if a genus and species gets named on poor remains, and then a new one arises more complete, the later becomes the type species?
Where would you put prehistoric planet on your tier list?
Probably A- but I'll have to watch it again to be sure.
@@redraptorwrites6778 OK, and by the way prehistoric planet might be the most scientifically accurate dinosaur documentary were ever gonna get so far
I have never heard of this documentsry before
Modern chickens opening doors: my powers are belying your understanding
Do a dino doc of prehistoric predators
This is certainly a great Documentary but I sorry to inform you that you missed one all the way back in 2002 called The Lost Dinosaurs of New Zealand
Please! Please! Please! Consider an Accuracy Review of The Magic School Bus: The Busasaurus (S2E3)
11:19 kinda ironic given it often displays the dinos in modern time.
Funny enough, the Raptors(Nuthetes right?) are considered to be a Danish raptor knowen Dromaeosauroides bornholmensis
Megalosaurus: I do wish I can be in a Documentary again, It was a Lovely Time (Seriously though, Please have Megalosaurus be in More Documentaries)
You should review Barney accuracy-wise.
I love when baryonyx makes out with iguanodon
Spoilers!
Are you going to review the last day of the dinosaurs
Too be honest this video is good.
How about reviewing the old "When Dinosaur Ruled" documentary series narrated by Jeff Goldblum?
A documentary narrated by JEFF GOLDBLUM?!!!!!!!
@@redraptorwrites6778 Not sure if all the episodes are on UA-cam but this is the one ua-cam.com/video/SH_5-XeuJ0M/v-deo.html
If Ireland and britan were connected in the mesazoic would British dinosaurs have walked over to Ireland sometimes? Its a question i was wondering for quite a while
Very likely only in human history have ideas of national borders been a thing really.
I just noticed. JFC isn’t the lowest ranking doc
Somehow
As bad as it is, some tried REALLY hard to be even worse.
@@redraptorwrites6778 I mean, at least Clash made a decent Rex and Quetz.
Can you review amazing dino world after dinosaurs in the outback
dont worry too much about the queen thing. the media over here vastly over exadurate it.
yup, some of us were unphased, just wanted to go about our day
Once drank tea XD
