You can see, just from her eyes, that she's a genuine person.
And that's really amazing.
It's interesting that she said she thinks visually with music because one thing among many things I love about her music is how cinematic all her songs feel, I always imagine all these crazy movie scenes whenever I listen to her stuff.
someone you'll disagree with well I totally agree with you :^)
I've seen her live... She's AMAZING. She has a Powerful and Awe Inspiring presence on stage.
Just discovered this woman and her music. I'm amazed.
you listen to buckethead! you have no taste.
bill fuckyourmom Wrong. I taste like rotten meat!
bill fuckyourmom Your kind of meal, I see. Bon appetite!
+Krabman I listen to buckethead,too!!!:)
Krabman I know right?! she is fucking amazing. I'm straight head over heels for her.
such charming, humble and talented woman, world needs more people like her
I seriously can’t imagine Chelsea Wolfe getting into a bus.
I am forever in love with her. She is a total artist.
She's the most inspiring person.... Love Ya, Chelsea! Wish you all the best!
yup, + Emma Ruth Rundle
She looks so alike to Mona Lisa
She reminds me more of the Cocteau Twins than any other goth bands....there's a weight to her music that makes it distinct. Definitely one of my favorite finds of the last couple of years.
Good comparison...I go a step further and say Cocteau Twins with a dash of Swans.
I love her voice, it makes me feel so comfortable with myself and makes me feel welll in all sense, i take the board and skate like all day, love you chelsea
i'm dying to see this girl live
Joy Dvision and Siouxsie and the Banshees
i saw chelsea live at tijuana, she was awesome,i loved her live !!
Coming back to this interview is insane when you look at the difference in her confidence! Its beautiful to see someone who was so shy and self conscious to now be where she is now! Good on you Chelsea!
so happy for knowing her for so long
Crazy fact: AFTER Chelsea Wolfe became my favorite singer, I discovered that I have a distant cousin that really looks like her.
good to see her do so well when her first few shows in los angeles were to near-empty rooms at pehrspace.
I would listen to an audiobook narrated by her. She has such a soothing soft voice.
listening to her leather jacket creak is my ASMR.
chelsea is a beautiful cyanide roll too perfect for this world, too pure
One of the few I actually feel comfortable calling an "artist" nowadays. She understands that it's all about the passion. I hope she does continue to make music until her hair turns gray.
Amazingly honest :D feels really intimate, one of the best interviews I've seen.
A beautiful lady with tunes to die for, quite literally. Her vibe reminds me of manson, when talking. Loverly person.
It would be cool for Chelsea to direct a movie, imagine it Interesting. (BR)
Found my twin! We look and sound pretty much the same. It's kind of eerie, but awesome
I kinda just discovered this girl and already in love.
She is great Live!
I keep hearing more and more artists talk about their music in the form of shapes. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez says the same thing. I think it's really awesome.
Millje Moritz
Well for me it's more like imagining a place in time fictional or non fictional. Like for instance Bob Dylan's emmitt till. He's describing an event that took place and what it may have been like. I know for me movies, photos, books, or an actual place all have more of an inspiration than just sitting in your room playing. I know Bat for lashes Natasha Khan sometimes goes to a beach that is somewhat foggy and writes. And you can hear those "shapes" and landscapes in her music. It's like a visual in your head that comes out in musical form. Like you're writing a soundtrack to a movie or a clip/moment in time. What would it sound like? And the lyrics would be related to what it looks and feels like to be in that moment.
Elliott Smith talked about understanding music in shapes too.
Tori Amos does too. They sound like they have synesthesia. I have it but it's more colour, smell, feeling music on my skin and tasting it.
aw i am like she is so good at performing. i wonder if she has synesthesia but it sounds different than mine.
The song is Appalachia from 'Unknown Rooms'
She's beautiful.
Yes she is!!
first thing that comes to mind is Joy Division's "The Eternal"
for me, the quintessential goth song.
Her music is great, everyone should listen to her.
Careful what you wish for....
Would love to hear a cover of spellbound
When I think goth I think Robert smith.
Amazing cheek bones.
Amazing musician.
my biggest inspiration ❤️
I live on king n 3rd ave! U guys passed there! Heard u at the gibson ampitheater u were awesome! Bought ur CD apokalypsis
look up something call ASMR. Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Wikipedia it to learn what it is then find videos on youtube. You may like those noises for a really cool subconscious reaction.
When I think of Goth I think of Nico's Marble Index, from 1968! ua-cam.com/video/iEFp7kR5K-A/v-deo.html A decade before the likes of Siouxsie, JD or Bauhaus were around. Although the instrumentation is mainly classical, it's the first album to express that sinister and doom laden sound unlike anything else at that time. Nico and John Cale, who arranged all instruments apart from Nico's harmonium, set the tone for so many other bands to be influenced by this Proto-Goth masterpiece. Also check out her albums Desertshore (1970) ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=nico+desertshore and The End (1974), both arranged and produced by the amazing John Cale. Goth in it's purest form!
she's such a sweetheart :3
i like the little sounds her leather jacket makes occasionally
she is the fucking best
love her!
shes great!
When I think of goth I think of Death Rockers which is what we were called back in the 80’s and bands like Christian Death
very talented
gotta love her...
I love you, I love your songs, your so beautiful in every way!
Fuckery I love her
The leather sounds, though.
You're not bad at communicating Chelsea!!!
She's perfect.
best new artist around, bottom line
Anyone know the name of the song in the background at about 1:50 and onwards?
When I think of goth not only do I think about Siousxie and Joy Division but I also think about the industrial goths from the 90's. Dem rivetheads
What are the names of the songs played in the background of this interview? I need them in my life immediately.
dat eyes
Is there a music video with the images shown at 2:20?
I want to see her talk some more
the song is called mer
which song of hers is playing in the background?
When I think of Goth I think about Rozz Williams
my waifu
ASMR
2:00
agreeable INTP
Her music is like if Emmylou Harris got hooked on heroin and fell into a deep depression. And I fucking love it
When people ask this question i find it kind of annoying...we like spinach
She basically is the opposite of Little Richard.
Such a babe :3
Her voice reminds me of PJ Harvey
Marry me Chelsea!!!!

GRiMES AND CHELSEA WOLFE SHOULD TEAM UP
More like Doooom metal
cupcake
sorry. she's my waifu.
dude back off
Yawn.
Such a fan of her music. I really do hope she seeks help though. She was in my city, hanging at a venue and went on asking everyone there where could get coke, it was desperate and pathetic looking. Such a talented woman, such an awful habit.
You want her to get help but you publicly shame her, very helpful mate.
Go work for the gossip rags.
The Banshess and Joy Divison aren't "Goth" or whatever. Sorry, dahling.
They're post-punk bands heavily listened by goths darling.
Skeeter NYC they're real goths. Not goth pretention or teen edgy-shit.
Skeeter NYC UA-cam comments can be pretty horrible. So I gotta say that it's really an achievement that you managed to write one of the stupidest, most obnoxious things I've seen here lately. It's just so casually pretentious with no knowledge behind it that it's amazing.
Oh dear.you really are a try hard.
