Honestly sonic heroes is an example of a game I actually want to get a remake. I think the game is immensely flawed and could use little changes to make it better as I think its emblematic of both what I love and hate about sonic. The Art direction is perfect featuring best level themeing in the entire series. The ost is amazing but the main problem I have is that the game is poorly paced and the game is the most unpolished sonic game leading to unfair deaths. I don't want remakes of games that are already good. I want remakes of games that would actually benefit from it

Dude. All your complaints about Heroes can be fixed by… making the remake! You saying no is just gonna make the game still be bad cuz you won’t have a better heroes to play. You literally said SA1 & SA 2 have so many problems that need a remake to fix. All the games zippo mentioned equally deserve remakes. Picking priorities would be ridiculous let’s just wait and see if they do a good job or not. you are seriously strange if everything inside heroes sucks to you. what is your favorite sonic game then, Sonic Pocket Adventure? you need to make a long video reviewing all aspects of the Sonic Heroes game. and compare them to the rest of the series. cuz you will find so many aspects you like.
@@Kiezly I don't like the gameplay. The controls are slippery, the combat is mind numbing, the level design is lengthy and repetitive. It is just such a frustrating game to play.

Yeah, sa2 has a lot of major issues, like 2/3rds of the game not playing like a Sonic game. Remaking it into a good game would effectively be making a brand new game.
It's nice to see that Sonic Heroes is getting a Resurgence.
I know that it'll never happen but I would really love to see Sonic Boom get the same Treatment cause the Series itself is completely Underrated and it deserves a 2nd Chance to shine in the Spotlight.
06 would’ve been my first pick but i’ll take sonic heroes next because i never played it and it looks good. SA2 is so good it doesn’t need a remaster and SA1 is in the middle in my opinion. Unleashed is good but remove the medals. I really thought they weren’t gonna remake anything before colors because they don’t own the rights to the old voice actors.
Out of curiosity, if Sonic Heroes does get a remake, will they be redoing the coice lines?

This is very cool! I always thought of the game in HD Sonic Unleashed like graphics!
Though, I'm a bit concerned about the voice acting in this remake besides Eggman. No offence to anyone, but it would sound a bit odd with Roger Craig Smith doing all of Ryan's lines.
As much as I'd love to see Jason Griffith to be rehired for his game to bring back Sonic's younger voice, or even Ryan Dummond to be brought back, I don't think that'll happen.
But that's just me. All in all, Sonic Heroes is one of my favourite games of the franchise! ❤
Shadow's OG voice actor from the Dreamcast era posted on Twitter that he's back in the booth and it showed a picture of shadow....
Maybe they're getting the old voice cast back for the remake
@@SFproductions1 Upon closer look given a certain fan radio drama, he might just being doing things for Emi’s fan project Sonic and Tails R2. If the voice of this Shadow coming back was such a big deal, Sega would’ve announced it already.
@@demetriusnp49 Maybe Sega is waiting to make a full announcement on the game itself and the voice cast(though it's 100# most likely they'll use the current actors, due to Eggman's voice actor prior Sonic X having passed away despite getting Tails previous actor from Sonic Colours to Lost World back for Ultimate and Rise of the Wisps short). The remake and Sonic Toy Party were both found via leaks, and they only just announced Sonic X Shadow two months ago.
But then again, it's not much of a secret with this game, now, lol. 😅
I don’t mind Heroes tbh. It was one of my favorite Sonic games growing up. I think I like it over the adventure titles bc there are similar gameplay styles just spread over 5 stories which isn’t half bad compared to the Adventure titles if u ask me.
God I wish, the only Sonic game I've played and one of my most favorite games ever, childhood one too (and still slaps replaying it as an adult). God seeing these insane stages with modern graphics will be mindblowing (but I have 750ti rn so ooof).

In theory this is a better idea than any Adventure remake, remake bad games or heavily flawed games into good games, I'd love an SA1 remake but I think a lot of games that have had remakes really didn't need them.

Sonic Heroes i played for the first time as a kid on a cruise already being a fan of the 2d games, i would then go on the website and watch the trailer every day until years after when i could afford it and it was my first 3d sonic game i holds it in my heart daily
I disagree with you on Sonic Heroes. When I first played SH, I didn't like it much, but it definitely grew on me. I agree that the control is janky, the physics are bad, and the game has an overall rough feel to it, but I like the level design. And while the knuckles and tails style gameplay is rough and janky, I'll take that any day over the shooter and treasure hunting stages of the Sonic Adventure games. So out of all those games, Sonic Heroes is definitely the one that should be remade.
With that said, I don't think it really needed a remake, but I also understand the logic behind it. Using it to learn Unreal Engine 5 is a good idea, and remaking it would almost certainly fix the issues with the control and physics. So looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Imagine sonic heroes will get a multiplayer gamemode.
In unreal engine 5 this would be interesting. The renderware engine was completely defunked that it ran on. This means it’ll be COMPLETELY built up from the ground up.
This could either fix a lot of problems or make them worse.

My nephew's will like being able to control multiple sonic characters at once.
They should remaster (not remake) Sonic Shuffle instead of heroes or any of the other games mentioned. That game is really slept on and deserves more than it got.

I wanted to like the original, but the slippery controls really brought my opinion down. If they can fix that and tweak the level design a bit, I'm sure I would enjoy it. Excited!

If SEGA ever wants to bridge the gap between the IDW comics and the games, a Sonic Heroes type game is probably the way to go. Tangle/Whisper/Lanolin and Surge/Kit/Mimic would be solid teams.

I just beat my first playthrough of heroes on team dark... and now this, I liked sonic heroes for the passion it had and its catchy vocal themes, but the game is just so janky at times, especially when on rails, that it's hard to enjoy that side of the game. Also the cool vocal themes I mentioned only play either: In the background of a cutscene, or: After completing every campaign you get a boss fight with a vocal track, so after playing the game 4 times... Part of me hopes this remake (if it's true) will fix up the jankyness, but the game is so long otherwise I dont know if I want to play it man.

@@lpfan4491 the retro engine games are a remaster. When I said remake. I meant the remake classic games need to have unique art, remixed soundtrack and minor differences (eg: like a secret level or game gear levels)

Personally, I HATE Sonic Heroes and I could not be happier that it is the game getting a remake. The game is a complete buggy mess that did not age remotely well in the slightest so remaking it from the ground up gives it a chance to be an actual good game so people like me that enjoy not phasing through floors and rails on a regular basis can see what Heroes simps like so much about it
Sonic heroes is a guilty pleasure. I love it even though its sometimes annoying or even too campy. But theres a lot of nostalgia for me there and i never had problems with the controls....except the grinding levels, they can burn in a fire i hated that shit.
I've really been wanting an 06 remaster, but I guess sonic heroes is also good nonetheless. I know p-06 is a thing, but I don't have a powerful PC and I'd like to experience the whole story in HD and the bugs to be highly decreased.
Heroes wasn't perfect but it was my earliest exposure to Sonic and his friends. I spent many hours playing the game growing up but could never beat it.

I just hope it controls easier with an analogue stick, I had a much better time playing on pc with keyboard compared to xbox. Especially the special stages for the chaos emeralds. I was never able to get the 7th emerald on xbox but I could on pc

Fun Fact : The engine that used for Sonic Heroes was Renderware, and it's also used for the GTA PS2 games, and those games got a remaster on modern platforms, and you probably know the results.
I hope they remake it from scratch if that’s the case. Plus I think due to legal reasons they may not even be able to port the original game anyways.

Not sure what planet you are living on. When origins came out it was full of bugs and optimisation issues and Colors not been by Sega is irrelevant. They outsourced it and still published it, they made the final calland chose the studio.@@reggielacey2235

I guess the reason that they go with heroes being remade because they know that if they somehow or rather really botch SA one and two... They will never hear the end of it. They just want to see if they can actually remake Sonic Heroes first and see if they can really make the most of unreal engine 5 before they go and try to remake the more appraised Sonic games.

It's probably due to its success, Sonic heroes is one of the most popular and successful modern Sonic games, making it the safest bet. The other games such as sa1, 2, 06 etc are far riskier due to lesser popularity.
SEGA most likely lost the original Sonic Heroes source code since this game was developed using RenderWare, which is now a defunct game engine. So a Remake from scratch would be great.

A remake for Unleashed would need to fix *EVERYTHING* about the Werehog. The combat, the controls... *EVERYTHING* about it needs a complete ground up overhaul.
I don’t get the big whoop about the werehog I mean I haven’t played a gow game but I’ve played other beat em ups and it’s really not as bad as people say it is
Doing an overhaul does not always mean that it will be completely diffrent, it is entirely possible to still keep the same fundamental concept and just build it better.
And in addition to an overhaul of night gameplay, there is a very easy sidestep that I would make the team implement instantly if I were in charge of an unwiished remake(diffrent game, but same idea applies because it has the same day/night-split): Just let people choose at the start of the game to create the savefile in "day gameplay only-mode". People who are uninteressted in getting the full experience...can just not get the full experience. Who cares as long as everyone is happy?

@@reggielacey2235 Some of the best remakes of all time rebuild everything to be fundamentally the same. What bits and pieces one should keep and what should be changed is an active part of the process, the all or nothing-approach actively sucks.
I’m not proud of this, but I’m 12. That means I grew up with SONIC FORCES. *FORCES.* But I’m not blinded by my nostalgia for Forces. I still kinda like SA1 and SA2, though I prefer boost. Sonic Unleashed and Generations is the goat. No questions asked.

I'm personally going to wait for more information before I start becoming interested. I'd imagine that this would create a debate on whether the remake or the original is better. I've personally never played Heroes, so if this is real, then I'll buy it and give it a try.

SA2 shouldn't get a remake anytime soon. Its already getting a movie and Shadow's story is being revisited. Its already getting enough love for a while. Besides, Heroes needs the remake more

Unleashed is very accessible on Xbox. Heroes is the game least accessible to the console community so im very excited for this
I disagree with your opinion on Sonic Heroes. The game is a childhood classic and huge nostalgia for me. But you make some valid points though about the game being slippery with the controls.
I do also believe it's smart to remake Heroes purely because Sega seems to be a lot more open to embracing the extended Sonic cast. Frontiers and the Movies brought a lot of new eyes to the series, and with how games like Murder of Sonic helped introduce newer Sonic fans to the extended cast, it DOES make sense to do some kinda remaster/remake/rerelease of a game like Sonic Heroes where most of that cast is playable
Also, I'm indifferent on whether we get the OG voice cast or the current cast, but I'm not too upset if it's the latter, because I've been DYING to hear Roger do an official Metal Sonic voice

Yes! This means that no matter what game they remake, it will be even better than the original because they will make the controls better.
You see, i hate heroes, and that's EXACTLY why i actually have a bit of hope with this remake, For other Games like Advneture 1 & 2 or unleashed, in their original versions are more than enjoyable, but heroes is that one game that, no matter what, i just CAN'T enjoy at all
I think a full on remake is exactly the oportunity to fix this broken mess of a game, and maybe thanks to the remake i can finally enjoy a game i was never able to.
