Wow! The silhouettes are so subtly different under the skirts, but I really love the 2nd one. How differently do they wear on an actual person and what is sitting in these like??

They are definitely more for walking than for sitting!
I made the mistake of sitting back in a chair (forgetting I was wearing one because it's so comfortable), and squashed it a bit. But it was very easily reshaped, so no major deal.
If you're going to sit, elegant perching is most definitely advised!! 😂
As to the fit, as long as it's tied securely over the corset, there's no shifting - rather like over the body form.
