      @@NastyMoto silicone under the head gasket is a very bad idea. Have you ever seen the original silicone under the head? E: the same with the intake manifold, silicone can not come into contact with gasoline because it dissolves.

    • @JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel
      @JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel 3 місяці тому

      @KomUrczakPlay there is oil and gas in the lower crankcase that comes in contact with the sealant. Use a good quality one and it's not an issue. Going to be a huge pain for the next one that takes it apart. Also lowers the compression putting on the cylinder head and the base of the cylinders.

    Did you also put yamabond on the exhaust manifold gasket? Looks like you sealed the entire motor with yamabond then you put the gaskets on over the yamabond. Just want to make sure as I'm sealing my motor back up

    • @NastyMoto
      @NastyMoto  3 роки тому +1

      I put a thin layer on every gasket I could, just helps it seal a bit better!

      The only place you're supposed to put it is the case halves. makes it a real pain to get apart and lowers compression. Should be a lot higher with thst Westcoast head.

    Did you keep the stock plastic waterline that goes from the pump to the engine, the main line, or did you replace it with a metal one?

    • @NastyMoto
      @NastyMoto  3 роки тому

      This hull was set up for dual cooling, which means it already had a stainless steel line put in it.

  • @christianloudermilk3894

    What’s the white stuff you put on the lower unit? Is it a replacement for a seal?

    • @NastyMoto
      @NastyMoto  3 роки тому

      It’s yamabond, you have to use some type of sealer on the bottom end cases.

    I would look into the place you put the bolt make sure its not supposed to be hooked into the water output line. Just saying, if water is supposed to circulate through there you don't want any over heating. If water comes out there I would think there is a reason.

    • @NastyMoto
      @NastyMoto  3 роки тому

      I’ll for sure look into it! But the ski seems to be running super cool as of right now so I believe it was used in a dual cooling setup. Thanks for the info though!

      @@NastyMoto I’ve got an OCJS manifold just like that one, mine doesn’t have a hole leaking water and it runs just fine so I think you’re all good with that bolt in there.

    • @RyanMcIntyre
      @RyanMcIntyre Рік тому

      That's not a regular output line, it's a cast boss for supporting stock pipes but some idiot drilled too deep. To be certain it won't leak, I'd tap it with pipe threads and not regular bolt threads

    Where is the water hose hooked up to? Can you please show me that? Mine doesn’t come with one

    • @NastyMoto
      @NastyMoto  3 роки тому +1

      I personally hook up mine to the bottom brass nipple on the exhaust manifold, you have to get the adapter for the water hose

    That’s not a west coast motor lol. West coast manufactured a motor, they coast around 4-5k if you can find one. Head, cylinder, and the way to the flywheel.

      Any Real race engine is closer to $10k fully operational in a ski. Around 15k to build a full replica ski.
