Nice haul. I remember Cosmic Blues being blue. Those 2 fire trucks that had LA Fire Dept were part of a set from the short-lived TV show Code Red.

@@Diecastjohnny7 No problem. I tell you, when I saw that Code Red playset in Toys R Us, I really wanted it, even though I knew my dad wouldn't buy it.

@@Diecastjohnny7 It used to carry a plastic lion that sat on a rotating plastic disk. It would move when the wheels turned.

That's a great collection and those hovercrafts are great. I've used the hovercraft from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight a few times it's like being on a plane skimming across the water. There is a video on UA-cam about the hovercraft from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight you should check it out. Cool collection thank you for sharing.

The "El Camino" is a Holden ute from Australia. This was the brand that GM sold cars under in Australia and New Zealand. Many were similar to Chevy designs but were made for that market.
The yellow Ford pickup is supposed to have an animal, i think a lion, on the round platform that spins under the clear camper shell. I have one but mine has no stickers or shell. The Matchbox cars from the stickers era are really hard to find in mint or near mint condition, because if you handled them much the stickers would get damaged and come off. I had one of the VW bug with the airplane tail on it, mine was in mint condition. I must've not played with it much! I also had several of the teal Firebird, couldn't find my old ones but I recently acquired a couple of loose ones. Two different shades of that beautiful teal blue, ive always loved that color range. Ive had several different cars from the "Rolamatic"series (that Ford pickup is one) that have pins on the wheels that interact with linkage in the car that makes the engine move(on the pickup, the platform spins) including the Piston Popper Mustang in that purplish blue. And I've had some of the various cartoon Dodge Chargers like the Cosmic Blues and the Red Rider. A buddy of mine has a bunch of this stuff too; I've been helping him catalog and evaluate his collection as he's moving across Texas and downsizing.
My best friend in third grade, was an only child, adopted daughter of a mid level oil company exec and his wife, and she had everything available for Barbie in the mid 70s. I mean Everything! But...her parents were also enlightened enough to let her play with toy cars! So we would play with her cars and mine, while our moms chatted at playdates at her house. For my birthday and Christmas, she gave me several Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. And a case, one of the vacuum molded race car cases that holds 48 cars(4 trays) but end to end instead of side by side. I still have the case and some of the cars. Kept a few, traded some to buddies for helping me organize my garage building, and traded/sold a few at the local diecast shows in the Houston, Texas area where I live.
I love the older Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars, that were made with metal bodies and chassis; they just have a heft and weight to them that the newer ones don't. I understand why Mattel and other companies have transitioned to using so much more plastic in the cars, because it's cheaper and they can mold details better and in multiple colors. Trying to keep the price point where kids can still buy them!
They have a lot of cool castings out, the last several years...but the old ones are just a little bit cooler!
Thanks for sharing your new collection with everyone; i agree, you got a good deal! I'm sure you can find viewers or collectors in your area who'd be willing to trade/buy your duplicates....

I am from Europe, so I know some of the cars shown here. You hit the mark with the box. It is in good condition, so my guess is a 25 - 40 Dollars for the box alone. There are not many left. In those days to buy one for your toycars was not cheap, in 1976.
You start with the Hoovercraft. A Brittisch invention. This white model is a bit like the real big one, wich had a Ferryline between Dover and Calais. They were very loud, and used a lot of fuel; the real ones. So in the 80's? the Hoovercraft were taken out of service.
The green ones are a fantasy conversion of the Hoovercraft. In the 70's Matchbox had a lot of fantasy cars, next to the normal ones.
On 3.00; It's the Volkswagen Beetle, in a WW1 "airplane version" like the Red Baron. So, the chauffeur is a German with a moustache, and a "pickelhoube" = Pointed Helmet. The yellow "rockets" are jet engines. The topwing is missing.
(There is a Brittisch version as well, also WW1; a green Mini with a rotary engine, and a pilot with a flyercap on, in it. I have them both)
The "swamprat" ... never seen before! I guess it is rare. 5.20; the purple buggy's. Sad that the wheels are bend. When driving this car, the driver goes up and down. Matchbox made some funny cars, like the "piston popper" due a litle spike on one of the front wheels, inside it would move the engine up and down. Very cool. 5.40; the yellow Ford truck; it might had 2 dogs included. 9.15; The Ford truck; it had 2 cows in it. Mostly those little extra's are missing. 10.39; an other fantasy truck, like the ambulance. The Red Rider and the White Cosmic Blues, also never seen myself. But I guess Matchbox did made toycars for the US market, like the Los Angeles Fire truck with the "dude" It 's a Brittish Ford Truck. Just like the "Wells Fargo" not in Europe! 12.59, the yellow car; mostly in a bad shape, here the windscreen is still there. Make a 15 Dollars alone I guess.
Altough some cars are damaged, and some are double, I thing you did a good buy! Greetings! Nice to watch.

After 2011 and Our Big camp buying down. We had Propane fridge that leaked propane into the camp and it ignited from the woodstove. We would never have both again. After We went with a Mini home. The biggest pain we have is the PROPANE in winter. When temperatures drop below 12 degrees. The propane doesn't have enough pressure to keep the main line going and your stove with enough pressure to produce heat.
Doing it again. I'd go with one source of heat. WOOD. You can't beat wood heat.
