- Hey house lover's and explorers! Thought I would surprise you all with an early week surprise of another old farm house. This one was a beauty and only ever had what seems to be a very basic attempt and lighting off a battery or generator. built in the early 1900s there is old wall paper with newspaper dates as well. a magnificent old stove/ and some outbuildings. And all while myself and Werner were out here filming as the full moon came up over the hills. Hope you all enjoy the explore. Cheers for watching 🙂👍
Thick walls, wallpaper made from newspaper, door knob in the middle of the door and the Beautiful old stove. This old beauty had everything. Appreciate what you do.
Hey Paul. What a tidy and beautiful homestead. Simpler times. Thanks for taking us on another explore. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
The price of housing is astronomical, yet these old houses sit vacant!
Post dinner cup of tea and an explore! I'm ready.
Thank you ❤ for letting us tag along 👍
I can imagine how lovely that house would look restored.
If ever renovated, this home will look absolutely stunning. So much potential.
Absolutely 👍😊
Great to see another old gal still surviving & still in reasonably great shape!
Love the music you start with!!!
The same age as my wife's auntie, she'll be 107 in October.
Awesome Brett :-) I bet it great listening to her recall the good old days. Thanks for watching :-)
This house is still in good condition with a little work. The stove was lovely.I loved seeing the handmade wallpaper. The moon was pretty.Thank you for bringing me along on this beauty.
Thank you so much Susan, yes this home is a prime one that could be restored and would look amazing sitting out here on its own. 😁💪
I love watching your videos, I live in America, but I enjoy learning .
Awesome! Thank you Joan, many more videos to come 😊👍
In some cases newspaper was used as a lining between old wallpaper and new wallpaper to achieve a better grip for the wallpapers especially if one of them had a smooth face. 18:00 When in the kitchen I thought you were going to tell us the wiring was for a door bell.😂
Another awesome rural farmhouse abandoned for several years
surrounded by great scenery as always this was really a great find
take care and have a great week thanks.🇦🇺🤠🇦🇺
Wow ! Some of the soundest structure I’ve seen in something deserted . Especially the ceilings and possibly the roof have protected this Beauty . Imagine cleaning this girl up ,what a gem ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would be a prime example to restore I agree cooksandkooks 😊
Wow, she was a beauty. Thanks as always.
Love to see the original ones. Wallpaper and original colour schemes are my kind of thing. Paint colours before the 30's where mixed by hand by each painter. So colours varied slightly between painters and areas of the country. Wish there was an easy way to scan/paint match the colours in these homes for historic sake. As once their lost, they're lost forever. Was able to paint match several of my original paint colours and reinstate them.
Also newspaper was put behind the wallpaper, I am guessing moisture has caused the ink to transfer into the actual wallpaper. And if Wallpaper was hung on lining boards it also had hessian behind it, most likely to smooth out the lining boards.
Hey mate 😁 it is certainly always interesting when Lino or flooring is up along wall falling wallpaper to get a glimpse of how things were done. Your place must be very nicely done by the sounds. Good stuff and Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Greetings from Florida! 🦩🌴🐊 I love the quiet of the countryside and enjoy your videos. Hope someone can tell us about those lights. Had thought they might’ve been gas fed? 🤷🏼♀️ Had also never seen this wallpaper method. Very cool. 1917… Armistice Day was Nov 1918.
I was thinking gas fed as an electric light needs two wires to operate at that one in the summer kitchen had one, a thin gas tube I'm thinking.
You beauty! 😊 A lovely old home! Someone truly loved it, judging from the condition of the mantle and stove. It was exciting to see the date on the newspaper. I bet the missing floor is being used in another home. And the light! Wow! Loved the shot of the full moon and dead tree. What a great find! Congratulations!
You are right mate, a rustic gem! I really love this house, especially the the front door! Cool video & awesome find! ❤️🤘👍
Glad you enjoyed Carla, Cheers for the support and for watching 👍😁
Thankyou great old house ❤️❤️
Read the writing on the wall there, one would never be bored.
👍😉
Looks restorable and I like the corrugated ceilings, never seen those before.
Thanks for the tour Paul, I almost let this one slip by.
Note:
13:55 It being only one conductor, that would not light a light, if it was a hollow tube maybe it was for a propane gaslight, the fixture in the summer kitchen. It could've also been a ground wire for an old battery powerd radio set.
Cheers John 😊 yeah I tried looking for evidence online about this being done before but had no luck. It's still baffling. They had something rigged up, just can't figure it out 😁 the home could be restored beautifully I agree 😊👍
Another gorgeous property, rotting. Are the farmers at all aware how many people would love to restore these properties? They could make a ton of money and preserve Australia's history in the same breath, if they chose to... Thanks for the wonderful explore- it was truly a gorgeous place--SDK
I absolutely agree SDK 😊 this one in particular would be amazing restored 👍🙂 Cheers again
What a beautiful place to live. Enjoy a nice sunset each evening and so peaceful. Thank you again for the walk Paul, cheers! ☮️💜
Glad you enjoyed it Jana 👍🙂
Glad you got back to 😊post so soon
Hi paul, what a old beauty, the structure looked pretty good for age. I thought that wall was cool. I loved the old oven too. Loved your work. Cheers Deb
Glad you enjoyed it Deb, definitely still in good enough condition to restore to a beautiful old home again 👍😁
❤❤❤
The centered door knob just grabs my heart. The wood and wire coat hanger next to the old work jacket is a great find. An electrified wire channeled through a metal roof is kind of scary. Oh thank you for the shot of the moon over the hills and the dead tree in the foreground. It is wonderful!
My pleasure Judith 😊
Hi Paul such a beautiful scenery with these old farm houses. Great video thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Patricia 🙂
Loved this one!! Cheers!
Full moon rising. Very atmospheric, Paul! The verandah posts seemed to have "feet" which were a later addition to try and prevent them from rotting. My grandma (she was a "Cousin Jenny" from Moonta, S.A.) used to have a stove exactly like that one & the goodies she produced from it were extraordinary. Sunday roasts & Cornish pasties to light fluffy sponge cakes...
Cheers again beachbum! I often think what it would be like to cook on the old stoves, glad you remember the quality 🙂👍 cheers for watching 🙂👍
Hello Paul, how are you? It is 2:40 A.M. here. I couldn't sleep, so I thought I would watch a little UA-cam. Then your video popped up.
What a beautiful yet isolated place Paul. Thank you for another awesome explore through history 😍
Glad you enjoyed it Drew! 😊 It was a really scenic spot, perfect for this old house to sit there. 👍🙂
whats a awesome old home
in somewhat reasonable shape still that old home
What a gem thank you
Paul,I've never seen a door knob in the middle of the door. Lol. A great surprise finding a news paper from 1917,I would have taken it for a souvenir. Loved this home, must have been quite beautiful in its glory. Thanks for sharing.
What a lovely peaceful setting! That house isn't in bad condition. I love the idea of wallpaper printed on newspaper! Looks like it could be fixed up and lived in again. Thanks so much for the surprise post! I love what you do!
Thank you so much Deborah, glad you are enjoying the videos 😁
Someone could make a killing retrieving and selling (and refurbishing) all the beautiful old stoves in these abandoned properties. Such a shame they’re sitting there, rotting away… I noticed this home didn’t have a bathroom 🤔 I wonder if that open space to the left of the kitchen where you thought the generator may have gone was where they showered?
Another great explore Paul thanks for sharing
Beautiful place. The people who lived their lives there must have been sad to leave it. It appears cared for, as the brambles haven't covered the house, and the shearing shed is still in use.
🌟Hi Paul, on my way home from work and to end a busy day with your video of a beautiful old gem way out in the country side. Love stepping back in time with you and learning about the past love it. Thank you for the tour. 😊❤🌟
Beautiful condition. Didn’t notice any structural wall damage to the old girl. A real time capsule and great example of a farmhouse of the period.
Glad you enjoyed it, def in decent condition compared to some 👍🙂
The shed you looked in you mentioned a cart that had a cooling tank and behind that you can see a crankhandle and flywheel of a engine the set up maybe was used as a powerboat to drive another machine
The bullnose veranda is being let down by the base concrete breaking up. This home is totally repairable with minor works.
Definitely Jimmy. Cheers for watching 🙂👍
Wow great oven paul well done, and the wallpaper is amazing. ..
What a beautiful old farm house 🏠. I love the old stove and front door 🚪. The wrap around porch is awesome 👌. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊 ❤❤.

💜💙💚💛🧡
Hey Paul thanks for the mid-week video. I won't see it until this evening but I know in advance it will be a great explore as they always are
G'day, such a shame that people walk away from the farm it must have been hard times and heart breaking, my grandparents were on a farm when l was a kid and they only had a 32 volt generator for a lighting system and water pump, the fridge was run on gas, no television so when visiting we played games and cards at night, l love them so much, all gone now, thanks for the videos love watching them, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Hi Neil 🙂 I enjoyed reading your comments. I love hearing first hand memories from how these old farmhouse s had family life. Cheers for watching 👍😁
Maybe low voltage lighting back then with a generator.
Yeah I agree Roy. 👍🙂 Cheers for watching 👍
Such a treat to see such history within this just spectacular home, I,d love to restore a building like this for free if I knew of it, should get birds out and shut it up to prevent more damage, is storm water rain tank getting any water, if not roofs and spouting is the start point, with water comes clean walls doors frames floors windows and cardboards, clean flues on fires and then light them up to wake this house back up
It would be great to see this one restored absolutely 👍😊 glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Stove 🎉🎉🎉,, nice work mate.
I know you would appreciate that one mate 😁👍
Wow, what a great little gem. This is hidden away. What a score with that newspaper/wallpaper dates. Love it. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, MM :)
Glad you enjoyed it MM . Cheers for watching 🙂👍
@urbexindigo5164 No worries, always good 👌 Cheers MM
Paul - glad to see you’ve got Werner for company on these more recent expeditions. Things can change very quickly out doing inspections, I can assure you. Its good to have someone close at hand. Great old timer this one. Keep up the good work, always a very enjoyable watch.
Hi James :-) Yes def good to have someone alongside for these rural ones as I used to always go alone and sometimes still do. Have seen some deep wells I never want to fall in too!!!!! Cheers for watching :-)
I love watching your videos. You take the time to show us everything you can see and explain your thoughts on it 😊. As a ‘Scot’ who’s g.g.g grandfather (maybe 1 more) was transported to Australia in the early 1800s, Im fascinated to see these old properties and the landscape he will have lived and raised his own family in. Brilliant video again! 😊
Your very welcome Deborah 😊 Glad you are enjoying the videos, I love filming them and learning more and more. Cheers for watching and the support 😊
What a classic Paul ! Love your work.
1917 wow,10 days after the 2nd conscription referendum also considered to be the worst year for australians regarding ww1
thanks Paul , another great one. You know you were my 1st.... urbex adventurer... lol.. sub all the urbex family now.
Is there someone else i. The house with you? At 8:49 I hear a voice with your accent saying "absolute beauty."
They might have used the 32 volt system.
How can this be left to the elements
👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🏡🏡🏡😺😺😺👋👋👋👋
The wire at the back of the house could be just a ground for lightning strikes. Maybe...
where ?
North of Adelaide 😁👍
First lol
Just think a home insulated with newspaper still standing .What a beauty it must have been and could be again.Love the stove fireplace ,windows and the wrap around .thanks you 👍🇺🇸❤️
