Herman Hitson was a great guitar player who recorded with singer/saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood in the early 1960's, but a lot of the records they made together were reissued with the guitar parts credited to the other guitarist who'd been working with Youngblood at the time, Jimi Hendrix. My husband Charles recognized this song as the old gospel standard "You Can't Beat God's Giving," used in many Black churches for the offertory (when they pass the collection plate).
