Our journey began in Kraków, where we boarded a train bound for Warsaw, Poland’s vibrant and ever-evolving capital. Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the city's remarkable blend of history and modernity, where centuries-old architecture stands alongside gleaming skyscrapers.
One of our first experiences was exploring Warsaw’s famous milk bars, a defining feature of Polish culinary tradition. These canteens, which date back to the 19th century and flourished during the communist era, were originally designed to provide affordable meals to workers. Today, they continue to serve delicious, budget-friendly Polish dishes like pierogi, kotlet schabowy, and barszcz, each offering a taste of Poland’s rich food culture.
Warsaw is a city defined by resilience. Nearly 85% of it was destroyed following the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, one of the most courageous acts of resistance in World War II. The Old Town, painstakingly reconstructed after the war using paintings and historical records, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through its cobblestone streets, we admired the Royal Castle, the colorful townhouses, and Sigismund’s Column, erected in honor of the king who moved Poland’s capital from Kraków to Warsaw in 1596.
The city’s skyline reflects both its history and rapid growth. Among its most striking landmarks is the Palace of Culture and Science, a towering Soviet-era structure gifted by Stalin in the 1950s. Though controversial due to its communist ties, the building has become an integral part of Warsaw’s landscape, housing theaters, museums, and observation decks offering breathtaking city views. In contrast, the modern skyscrapers surrounding it, like the Varso Tower-the tallest building in the European Union-symbolize Warsaw’s economic ambition and progress.
Exploring beyond the historic center, we ventured into Warsaw’s green spaces, particularly Łazienki Park, a tranquil retreat in the heart of the city. Originally an 18th-century royal residence, the park is home to picturesque palaces, serene lakes, and free-roaming peacocks. A highlight was attending an open-air Chopin concert near the statue of Frédéric Chopin, Warsaw’s most famous composer.
Warsaw’s modern side was equally captivating. We explored massive shopping centers like Złote Tarasy and Arkadia, which featured everything from luxury brands to independent Polish designers. The city’s subway system, built in the 1990s and still expanding, made getting around effortless. Each metro station had a unique design, reflecting different aspects of Warsaw’s cultural and historical identity.
When night fell, the city transformed. Warsaw’s nightlife was diverse and vibrant, offering everything from elegant rooftop bars with skyline views to underground clubs with pulsating electronic music. The Vistula River boulevards, lined with open-air bars and lively crowds, became the perfect place to experience the city’s youthful energy. Whether sipping craft cocktails at a trendy lounge or dancing until dawn in one of the city’s legendary nightclubs, the nightlife scene offered something for every taste.
From its tragic past to its thriving present, Warsaw is a city that refuses to be defined by its hardships. It has rebuilt itself stronger, becoming a dynamic metropolis that honors its history while embracing innovation. Whether wandering through its historic streets, enjoying its cultural offerings, or immersing ourselves in its lively social scene, we found Warsaw to be an unforgettable destination. It’s not just a place to visit-it’s a city to experience, one that leaves a lasting impression on anyone who walks its streets

These are old film shots. The city center is transforming. Many places change or have changed. You will not meet many places in spring or summer. Next to this park there is actually a government district and buildings of most embassies. From here you have problems with filming from the drone.
