fantastic driving! I'm currently assembling a setup for travel use and I have been considering the 3drap hand controller as a replacement to pedal. So how do the trail braking feel like though? do you find it consistent enough to trail brake or the strap might get loose a bit making it inconsistent? And is there a particular benefit that hang you right hand instead of putting it on the wheel (like to reduce the movement of the wheel so more consistent throttle and brake input) or that's just a preference.
@@huajiang9241 it's good but it's something you'll get used to with practice. Trail braking is fine, it's just different and same again, will take practice. I'd advise getting a glove if u don't wear them already. And I also replaced the foam on the controller for 10mm thick. Makes the whole thing more comfortable and helps to prevent it from moving. And I tend to hold the wheel through fast corners but just use 1 hand for tighter corners or sections. Just allows me to do 1 thing with each hand I guess. You might be fine without doing that though. I have a old video where I talk about the hand controller and showcase it in more detail. Using the hand controller or clutch paddles work well though. Feel free to ask any more questions 👍
Have you looked into Cammus E Pedal Technology? I know they're making a c8 soon. Cammus, if you see this, then make a e pedal version of the C8, please
@@GregoryShtevensh not interested in Cammus at all. It's a terrible design for starters. I still looked it up though n it's as I thought 😂🤦 skip to 4:35 in the video I linked. The guy mentions it could be a skill issue... or it could just be that it's a bit shit! Lol I don't really understand the target audience for it either? Is it actually intended for able-bodied people to use instead of pedals? @@4Tash makes perfect sense actually and yeah I understand not limiting to cammus if you dont like the looks and design etc. What you've done is made it work for you and tbh thats probably the best way to go. Think a car made for "disabled" vs a Ferrari, modified so you can enjoy a Ferrari. I guess the route youve gone isn't restricted by anything you haven't decided it will, and I really love that. You should try the GT Neo if you get a chance. I have it and love it and the clutch paddles are preety decent. I just found it much more comfortable to hold than the F1Esports wheel (ive had both now)
@GregoryShtevensh Cammus tried something new n it doesn't work as well as a traditional base + wheel. I can swap my rim in 5 seconds to suit the style of driving. Alot of people I see in the sim groups who are passionate about sim racing have more than 1 rim. And they're customisable with magnetic shifters, carbon paddles, customised branded designs etc made to look like a real life rim that we tend to see in race cars, drift cars... the list goes on. But Cammus will never have that because of the design. I dont think serious sim racers will ever bother with Cammus, mainly for that reason. GT Nei is cool. That would be something more worth considering. But any rim that's not Fanatec add €250 for Hub and qr2 + import fees. Would end up costing me more than what I paid and it would function in the exact same way. I tried to do it as cheap as possible just to try it out
I'm pretty sure Aston Martin did the same for their disabled racing team (Team BRIT). Left clutch is gas, right clutch is brake, and both the shifters are the same. They map them that way so you aren't using the same hand at the same time for the entire race (gas/upshift and brake/downshift). Jimmy Broadbent drove it (ua-cam.com/video/CHfdFfEntMQ/v-deo.html)
